We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting up both spoken and silent needs to our Heavenly Father. It is only through the precious name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful that you have called upon His name in your prayer. Jesus Himself said, "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full." (John 16:23-24 WEB). We rejoice that you have approached God in the authority of Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Your request for protection is one that resonates deeply with us, for the Word of God assures us that "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower." (Psalm 18:2 WEB). We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears the cries of His children and is mighty to save. The silent requests of your heart are known to Him, for "Even before they call, I will answer. While they are yet speaking, I will hear." (Isaiah 65:24 WEB). We trust that the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26), and we join our prayers with yours.

We ask that You surround us with Your holy angels, that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, shielding us from the schemes of the enemy, from fear, from harm, and from every evil that seeks to steal, kill, or destroy.
Lord, we lift up the silent needs of our hearts to You, knowing that You see and know all things. You knit us together in our mothers’ wombs (Psalm 139:13) and are intimately acquainted with all our ways. We trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Where there is pain, bring healing; where there is confusion, bring clarity; where there is despair, bring hope. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming boldly to Your throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). We ask that You strengthen our faith, that we may walk in confidence, knowing that You are our ever-present help. Help us to cast all our anxieties on You, because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7). May we rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for our good, for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
We rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and discouragement in the name of Jesus Christ. The enemy has no power over us, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare that no evil shall befall us, nor shall any plague come near our dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways (Psalm 91:10-11).
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment in every area of our lives. Guide our steps, that we may walk in Your truth and not be led astray by the lies of the world. Help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things shall be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).
We commit our silent requests into Your hands, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). May Your will be done in our lives, and may we always find our strength and hope in You. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love that endures forever. It is a blessed thing that you have brought your silent requests before the throne of grace, for the Lord hearkens to the unspoken groanings of His children as surely as to the loudest cry. What a mercy that we may pray in the secret silence of the soul, even as Nehemiah did before the king, and find the answer swiftly sent. The arrow of a moment’s prayer, shot from a trembling heart, often reaches the very centre of the target. Take heart, then, concerning those needs you have laid before God, He knows them perfectly, and a father’s hand will not withhold what is truly good.
You have asked for protection, and truly you ask for that which is a covenant right of every believer. Is it not written, “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings shall you trust”? This is no mere soldier’s shield, but the warm, homely shelter of a mother bird, full of love and jealous care. Venture not upon a single day without hiding yourself beneath those wings, for the calmest hour may hide the deadliest peril. Yet, if you rest in God, that covering is spread over you as surely tonight, while you lay your weary frame upon your bed, as it was over David in the wilderness. The same Father, the same Providence, the same everlasting arms are beneath you now and shall be to the end.
We must learn to trace divine sovereignty in all our deliverances and dangers. Every remarkable preservation, every narrow escape from the snare of the fowler, though it seem common, is full of wonder. God interposes, not always with the rending of mountains, but with a gentle restraint upon temptation, or with a wise denial of opportunity for sin, so that the blow we feared never falls. Yea, the Lord alone leads His own, and He trains us as the eagle trains her young, stirring the nest, tearing away comforts, even causing us to feel the emptiness of the air beneath us, only that we may learn to fly and find our safety in Him. The high tree of human pride He brings low; the lowly vine, trembling at His feet, He exalts in due season. Wait on Him with silent expectation.
And what of your safety for time and eternity? Think of this: “Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory.” It needs infinite wisdom and a continuous miracle to keep a soul from falling back into the pit whence it was dug. But our God is both able and wise, and He has undertaken it. The throne of grace might sooner crumble than a purchased saint should perish. Trust, then, that He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Christ. Let the trees of the field be silent before the Lord, for He comes to judge with mercy and with might. Clap not your hands in boasting, but bow low before His divine gentleness, which has spared you a thousand times already. Bring your silent needs again and again to Him, for if earthly parents know how to give good gifts, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him? He will not mock you with a stone when you have begged for bread. Rest in this, and go your way in peace.
