Protection, safe travels

That long stretch of highway can feel endless, can’t it? The miles roll on, the scenery blurs, and the mind sometimes drifts toward the “what ifs.” But in all those hours behind the wheel, you are not alone. The very God who holds the world together is holding you on that road. It is His mercy that brings us safely through, not mere chance or careful driving. Every safe arrival is a quiet gift from His hand, a reminder that we are not consumed by the dangers we never even see.

I think of how often Scripture records long, arduous journeys, men and women traveling rough roads simply because they were obeying the Lord, or because providence nudged them forward at an inconvenient time. They didn’t always understand why the path was hard or why the timing felt off, but God was ordering their steps. He protected them from ambushes they never knew existed, sustained them when their strength gave out, and brought them exactly where He intended. He does no less for you.

So as you go, rest in this: the Lord’s compassion never fails. When the drive gets monotonous and you wish for a distraction, tell Him about it, He can handle the small frustrations. But also thank Him that the road is open, that you are able to travel, and that His presence goes with you. Let the journey itself become a quiet act of trust. You are not just covering ground; you are journeying under His watchful eye, protected by the same mercy that has carried His people through every wilderness. Drive in peace, for the good hand of the Lord is upon you and all who travel with you.
