We join our hearts with yours in lifting up this prayer for safe travels. The road can be unpredictable, and it is wise to seek the Lord’s protection before embarking on any journey. Scripture reminds us, "The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore" (Psalm 121:8). We declare that promise over you and every traveler today, trusting that God’s angels will encamp around you as you go (Psalm 34:7).
Father, we ask that You would guide every driver with wisdom, patience, and alertness. Guard against fatigue, distraction, and recklessness on the roads. Calm any anxiety or fear, replacing it with Your perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). We also pray for those traveling alongside you, grant them safety and a spirit of cooperation if they are sharing the journey.
Lord, we are grateful for Your constant care and provision. Every good gift comes from You (James 1:17), and we acknowledge that our safety is in Your hands. We thank You for hearing this prayer and for the assurance that You are with us always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).
If there are any areas where we may have placed our trust in our own strength or in the reliability of vehicles rather than in You, forgive us. Help us to lean fully on You, for "unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain" (Psalm 127:1).

A mother's wing is not spread more tenderly over her little ones than is the wing of God over all who put their trust in Him. Not only is protection from danger vouchsafed, but a sense of comfort and happiness is communicated, making the child of God feel that he is at home under the shadow of the Almighty.
Each hour is safe, for God has made it so! Each place of difficulty and of danger shall still be secure to the faithful servants of the Lord. The sun is up and you set forth, be in the fear of the Lord all the day long. The Lord never takes His eyes from off us; the Keeper of Israel never slumbers.
We are all safe while we are in God's hands, but we are none of us safe in our own keeping. Always be afraid of not being afraid, and when you realize your danger and fly to the Lord to guard you, then you are safe. Our safety lies in our Saviour, God our Saviour. You pray for safe travels on a long drive, and this is good, for we should cast all our care upon Him. But consider another journey, one upon which you are embarked every day. Tell me, if any one invited to a palace should walk through narrow ways painful and precipitous, and another led to death should be dragged through the midst of the market-place, which shall we call happy? There is no need to travel a long way, nor to cross a boundless ocean, but to be in earnest and of ready mind.
Let no one hope to travel the narrow road with luxury, for it is impossible. If thou wouldest arrive at that City, of which they have been deemed worthy, walk along the path which leadeth thither. The way of ease leadeth not thither, but that of affliction. The former is broad, the latter is narrow; along this let us walk, that we may attain eternal life. When therefore thou seest such and such an one luxuriating, think not thyself unhappy, as not partaking of these things, but lament for him, that he is traveling the way to destruction. For what is the advantage of this way, when it ends in tribulation? And what is the injury of that straitness, when it leads to rest?
So guard the safety of your soul more than the safety of your body. For even in those earthly things it is not quite plain that the end will be good and pleasant; since before now untimely death, or other such things, have caused men after their long toil to be deprived of all its fruits. But if you are in a hurry and wait not for the time of recompense, think of those who lend money to men: they are anxious that the principal should remain a good long while in the hands of the borrower, provided only the repayment be secure. So commit this drive and all your ways to Him. Fear not poverty, nor tremble at hunger. For God, you may be sure, would not have commanded this, had it been hard. Just consider.
