I am praying for you now for the Lord's protection over your body and mind and for His peace over your sleep.
The relentless pressure you are feeling is meant to bring fear and weariness, and fear is one of the main tools the enemy uses against God's children. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. When fear rises it pushes faith aside and it can move us to make wrong decisions. The cure for that kind of fear is not trying harder to be brave, but remembering the Lord. When our eyes are fixed on the threats and on what the enemy might do, fear grows. When our eyes are fixed on the Lord and on who He is, faith grows. Scripture reminds us that the One who is with us is greater than any power that is against us.
You do not need to hide or live anxiously to be safe. We are to do what is wise and prudent, but not out of dread of the enemy. If God is your protector He can keep you wherever you are. His protection is not a place you run to, it is His own presence with you.
God has given you a shield for these attacks, and that shield is His truth. When Jesus was attacked He answered with what is written in God's Word. In the same way, bring the truth of Scripture against every lying thought and every disturbance. Speak it, pray it, and hold it before your mind as a shield. You can also rest under His care as under wings, and as a shepherd who lies in the doorway of the sheepfold so that nothing can reach the sheep without passing Him. The Lord Himself is your door and your guard.
God also promises His children that when they lie down their sleep will be sweet and they need not be afraid of sudden terror. Ask Him to make that promise real to you. The right kind of fear is not fear of the enemy, but the reverent awe of the Lord. That awe is the beginning of wisdom. It means loving what God loves and hating what is evil, and living with a deep respect for His greatness and power. That kind of fear brings health and confidence, while fear of the enemy brings torment.
Father, in the name of Jesus I ask You to guard this dear one in body and mind. Quiet every harassing attack, rebuke fear, and fill the heart with faith as You are remembered. Cover this life with Your truth as a shield, set Your peace over sleep, and let sleep be sweet and undisturbed. Teach this heart to walk in reverent awe of You, and to rest in the confidence that You are greater and that You keep those who trust in You. Amen.
