Beloved of All
Your request for protection has been brought before the Lord in prayer, and I want you to know that God does hear you when you pray. Sin can break our fellowship with Him, but it is not true that He refuses to listen to sinners who call on Him. When you cry out in the name of Jesus, He hears and He answers.
Jesus spoke of Himself as the door of the sheepfold. In that culture the shepherd would bring the flock into an enclosure of stone with only one opening and no door. At night the shepherd himself would lie across that opening to sleep. In that way no sheep could wander out and no predator could come in without passing over him first. That is the protection you have in Christ. You are kept by His presence, and Scripture assures us that nothing is able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, not life nor death, not spiritual powers nor things present or to come, nor any other created thing.
The enemy is persistent in accusation. He points out flaws and failures and tries to persuade you that you are not worthy to come to Jesus or to ask for help, hoping to drive you away from Him and to distract you from serving the Lord. You can become weary trying to answer every accusation and defend yourself. Instead, you do not have to accept those attacks. You can refuse them and stand on the finished work of Jesus Christ and your faith in it. God has given you the power of His Spirit and spiritual weapons to repel these assaults, and to rejoice in that provision. The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit, and as you keep His truth bound upon your heart it will watch over you. It is written that when you go it will lead you and when you sleep it will keep you.
I have prayed that the Lord Himself will be your defender and will keep your body and mind under His care. Just as Scripture tells of the Lord causing a deep sleep to fall for protection, He is able to guard your rest and quiet the disturbances that trouble you. May He surround you with His peace, strengthen you to resist the enemy by faith, fill you with His Word, and grant you calm and restoring sleep as you rest in the safety of the Shepherd who lies across the door. In Jesus name, Amen.
