Protection from spiritual attacks

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for protection from relentless attacks on body and mind causing disturbances in sleep, in Jesus name Amen

We join with you and stand in agreement for your protection from these relentless attacks on your body and mind and the disturbances in your sleep, and we thank you for coming in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and authority over the enemy.

We know that our struggle is real and spiritual, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. Yet we do not fear, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world, 1 John 4:4, and no weapon that is formed against you will prevail, Isaiah 54:17.

The enemy seeks to steal, kill and destroy and prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour, 1 Peter 5:8, but Scripture calls us to submit ourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you, James 4:7. We are to be sober and watchful, putting on the whole armor of God daily so that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, Ephesians 6:11. This means girding ourselves with truth, putting on the breastplate of righteousness, having our feet fitted with the preparation of the Good News of peace, taking up the shield of faith with which we can extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God, Ephesians 6:14-17.

We also remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7, and He is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, 2 Thessalonians 3:3. When anxiety and torment press on your mind, we are to in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7.

For your sleep, we cling to His promise that you will both lay yourself down and sleep in peace, for you alone, Yahweh, make us dwell in safety, Psalm 4:8, and that He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, Psalm 91:1. We encourage you to make your dwelling there, to speak Scripture aloud over your home and your body before you sleep, to fill your mind with worship and the Word rather than anything that would give the enemy a foothold, and to walk in close fellowship and confession with other believers.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask for Your hedge of protection around their body, mind, and home. We rebuke every spiritual attack, every spirit of torment, fear, oppression and disturbance, and we command it to flee in Jesus name, for at His name every knee must bow. Wash them in the blood of Jesus, cover their mind with Your helmet of salvation, and guard their heart with Your peace. Forgive any open door that may have been given, cleanse them from all unrighteousness, and fill every place with Your Holy Spirit. Grant them deep, undisturbed, restorative sleep as You give sleep to Your beloved, Psalm 127:2, and let them lie down and their sleep be sweet, Proverbs 3:24. Let no terror come near their dwelling, and let Your angels encamp around them. Strengthen them to stand firm in faith, to resist the devil, and to dwell continually in Your presence. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust, Psalm 91:2. We receive Your deliverance and rest now, in Jesus name, Amen.

Thank you for reaching out and naming what you are carrying. Relentless pressure on body and mind that steals sleep leaves a person exhausted in every way, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

We believe sleep matters deeply to God. He designed us to need rest for a third of our lives, and restful sleep can be a gentle gift that restores both body and soul. When sleep is disturbed night after night, it makes sense that everything feels heavier and more vulnerable.

One small step that helps many is to create a simple, calm close to the day. You might try setting aside the last 30 minutes before bed for quiet, without screens or troubling inputs, with a brief honest prayer inviting God to watch over you through the night, and then keeping a consistent bedtime and wake time. If the disturbed sleep continues or you notice ongoing effects on your health, we encourage you to reach out to your doctor and also to a trusted pastor, alongside continued prayer, so you have support for both body and spirit.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. Cover them with Your protection, quiet their mind and body, and grant them peaceful, restorative sleep. Guard their home through the night, renew their strength, and give them clear assurance of Your nearness and care. Lead them to the right help and surround them with Your peace. Amen.

Your cry for protection has been heard and we join with you in prayer before the throne of grace, asking our heavenly Father to guard your body and mind and to grant you quiet rest in Jesus name.

We are reminded of the word, For so he giveth his beloved sleep. Sleep is not merely the result of laying our head upon the pillow and composing the body in a peaceful posture, it is the gift of God. He alone can give it, and He alone can preserve it from disturbance. When the mind is tossed to and fro and the body is weary, we may look to Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps, who watches over His beloved with unceasing care.

You speak of relentless attacks upon body and mind, and disturbances in sleep. Know that the Lord understands the reality of spiritual conflict. There is a hellish artillery that would harass the saints, yet it is written, He shall send from heaven and save me. If all the forces on earth are not sufficient to save His saint, God will send sufficient reserves from the ranks of the heavenly host to preserve His people. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, and no weapon formed against those who are in Christ shall finally prosper.

Therefore we pray that the Lord will cover you under the shelter of His wings, that He will still the turmoil of anxious thoughts and quiet the body for His own gift of sleep. May He lift from you the burden of anxiety which unfits the soul to meet its trials, and grant you to cast all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. We pray that you may be kept in perfect peace, your mind stayed upon Him, and that the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

Take up the whole armour of God, continue in watchfulness and prayer, and rest not in your own strength but in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation and safety. Abide in Him, call upon His name in the night watches, and meditate upon His promises when sleep departs from your eyes.

We pray now, O gracious Father, look upon this weary one. In the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, rebuke every evil influence and grant protection over body and mind. Drive far all fear and oppression, cleanse the thoughts, calm the heart, and give Thy beloved sleep, that waking and sleeping this dear one may be kept by Thy power and refreshed for Thy service. Restore quiet nights and peaceful rest, and let this trial draw the soul nearer to Christ, in whom alone is our refuge and strength. Amen.
