Protection from spiritual attacks

We stand with you in this battle, lifting your cry for protection before the throne of grace. The relentless attacks you describe, disturbances in sleep, afflictions of body and mind, are not merely physical or psychological struggles; they are spiritual warfare. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we serve a God who has already overcome the world. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

The Word of God is clear: "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). You are not fighting alone. We take up the full armor of God with you, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, which is the sword of the Spirit. Above all, we pray that you stand firm, having girded your waist with truth and put on the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14).

We also recognize that spiritual attacks often exploit areas of weakness, fear, or unconfessed sin. If there are areas in your life where you have not fully surrendered to God’s will, we encourage you to examine your heart and repent. The enemy has no legal right to torment a child of God who is walking in obedience and covered by the blood of Jesus. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7 WEB). Do not give the enemy a foothold through unforgiveness, bitterness, or compromise. Confess these things to the Lord, and He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

We pray now for your protection, declaring that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. We plead the blood of Jesus over your mind, body, and spirit. Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We command every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression to flee in the name of Jesus. You are a child of the Most High God, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We speak life, restoration, and divine health over your body. May the Lord surround you with His angels, encamping around you to deliver you from every evil work (Psalm 34:7, 2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Heavenly Father, we come before You as a body of believers, united in faith and intercession for our brother/sister. We ask that You would rebuke the enemy and silence every voice that speaks against Your child. Let Your light dispel every darkness, and let Your peace reign in their heart and home. Strengthen them with Your might, Lord, and fill them with the assurance of Your love and protection. Remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that this attack will not prevail, for the gates of hell shall not overcome the church of Jesus Christ.

We pray for restful sleep, free from nightmares, disturbances, or oppression. Let Your presence be a shield around them as they lie down, and may they wake up refreshed and renewed in body, soul, and spirit. Father, we ask that You would expose any hidden schemes of the enemy and bring them to nothing. Let Your angels minister to them, and may they feel the tangible presence of Your peace and protection. We thank You, Lord, that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare victory over this spiritual attack, for the battle belongs to You.

In the name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, we pray. Amen.

We hear your cry for protection and join you in asking the Lord to guard your body and mind. Being hounded like this, particularly through something as vulnerable as sleep, takes a heavy toll, and we do not take it lightly.

There is a deep connection between rest and our life with God. He designed sleep to be a nightly place of trust and peace, a time when He alone sustains us. When that quiet space is invaded, it can feel as though every part of you is under siege. So we pray with you for that serene gift to be restored, and for the enemy’s grip to be broken.

While we take the spiritual reality of these attacks seriously, we also want to gently remind you that our bodies can be an entry point for the enemy to create havoc. If you have not already done so, it may be wise to speak with a doctor about the sleep disturbances. A medical check can rule out anything physical that needs attention, and caring for the temple God gave you is never a substitute for prayer but a partner to it. Sometimes bringing a physical need into the light strips the enemy of a foothold he has been using.

For now, we stand with you in prayer.

Lord Jesus, You are the shield around us, the lifter of our heads. We ask You to silence every voice and torment aimed at this dear person tonight. Replace the restlessness with Your deep, quiet peace. Let sleep become that sacred refuge again, a sign that You are near. Cover their mind from racing fears and their body from attack. Sustain them by Your Spirit even in the hours of darkness, and give them tangible tokens of Your protection. We trust You to do what only You can, and we ask this in Your mighty name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Sleep is the gift of God. It is God who steeps the mind in lethe, and bids us slumber, that our bodies may be refreshed, so that for tomorrow’s toil we may rise recruited and strengthened. What a blessing sleep is to this poor, weary frame and to the throbbing brain! Yet when night follows night and there has been no sleep for you, you do not want anything to keep you awake, then, but you long for sleep. We regard it, always, as a bad symptom when the sufferer says, “I cannot sleep.”

But the carnal mind is enmity against God. The wolf may sleep, but it is a wolf still. Let us not sleep then, as did the disciples at Gethsemane. There is a weak point in the strongest man’s mind, where his opposition can be wounded. Your sleep has departed from your eyes, yet He never fails for lack of power, or because of a change of mind. He puts forth a gracious exertion of eye and mind as well as of foot and hand towards His wandering sheep.

He has laid down His life for you and He is prepared to exercise all His Divine power and wisdom to bring you home to His Father’s House. The Shepherd sought a lost sheep and when He had found it, it was no great spoil for Him for it was so worn out as to be nothing but a destroyed sheep. Yet He went after that one poor animal. Be of good cheer, then, "As one whom his mother comforts," so will the Lord comfort you!

The disturbance of your sleep and the relentless assaults on body and mind are no strange thing to those who earnestly seek the Lord. The enemy ever prowls, seeking a mind unguarded or a heart weighed down by worldly cares. You have called upon the Name of Jesus, and that is well, for there is no other shelter. Yet consider: does not such turmoil often spring from the burden of sin and anxiety, like the sea that never rests? The covetous man knows endless trouble, but Christ’s yoke is light. If your soul is heavy, examine what you carry.

God is Spirit, and He must be worshipped in spirit and truth, not merely with outward cries for protection, but with the inner dedication of yourself. Make your body a living sacrifice, and the peace that belongs to the angelic hosts will visit you. See how those pure spirits live: no excess of food, no drunkenness, no wild fantasies disturb their rest. Even among us, those who discipline the body and keep the soul wakeful find their sleep composed and holy, free from snoring and grotesque dreams. This is not beyond you, if you will cast out whatever darkens the mind.

Guard yourself, then, with vigilance. He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He does not suffer your foot to be moved unless you first hand yourself over to the enemy through carelessness. The attacks trouble you most when the soul is sleepy, when the eye of the heart is dimmed by overindulgence or worldly fretting. Let your sleep be decent, your meals simple, your thoughts set on things above where Christ sits, not on money, not on lust, not on the clamor of this life. Do not blame the body, but the passions that stir it. A sober mind makes the whole body light.

Stand firm, then. I am praying for you, but you must also pray without ceasing, and watch. May the Lord rebuke the spirits that trouble your rest, and may the Name you have invoked become your fortress. Dedicate your waking hours to Him, and He will give you sleep as He gives to His beloved, undisturbed and full of peace. The power of the Cross silences every demon; cling to it, and you will not be shaken.

The attacks you describe on your body and mind are a vivid picture of the war that Scripture describes between the flesh and the spirit. Our enemy knows he cannot touch your spirit, which is sealed in Christ, so he wages battle on the only ground he can access: your thoughts and your physical frame. When your sleep is disturbed, the mind grows weary, and the weary mind becomes more vulnerable to his fiery darts. This is not just a random bout of insomnia; it is a target on your peace.

You are a three-part being: spirit, soul (or mind), and body. In Christ, your spirit has been made alive, but you still live in a tent of flesh that groans under the weight of the fall. The body, with its legitimate needs, can easily become a megaphone for fear and unrest if it is allowed to dominate. The mind, the consciousness that stands between spirit and body, is the prize. Will it be governed by the Spirit and the truth of God, or will it be dragged down by the sensations and demands of the body? That is the daily, and sometimes nightly, conflict.

The temptation when your body will not rest is to let your mind fixate entirely on the problem: the exhaustion, the racing heart, the frustration. But that is the mind of the flesh, and it leads to death in your experience. Instead, the command is to present your body to God as a living sacrifice, not as a problem to be solved in your own strength. Lay it down before Him in the night seasons, acknowledging that this fragile frame is only a temporary dwelling. Your true self is spirit, and one day you will be clothed with a body that does not need sleep, a heavenly body that knows no corruption.

Until that day, your shield is the truth. When the attacks come, reach for the Word that has settled forever in heaven. Speak it aloud in the dark. Declare that He gives His beloved sleep. Declare that your mind is stayed on Him because you trust in Him. As you do this, you are letting your spirit, empowered by the Holy Spirit, take the upper story over your mind, and your mind then redirects the body. It is not pretending the symptoms are not real; it is refusing to let them have the final word.

Remember also that you are not a lone soldier in this fight. You are part of a living body, and when one member suffers, we all suffer alongside. That very request you have sent is a way of letting the body carry some of the weight. We stand with you, agreeing that every spirit of restlessness and mental assault must bow to the name of Jesus. You are preserved spirit, soul, and body blameless in Him, not because your body is perfect, but because His faithfulness is your buckler.

Take heart. The night watches are long, but they are measured. The day is coming when you will close your eyes in this tent and open them in a house not made with hands, where the enemy can never follow. In the meantime, may every disturbance become an invitation to turn your mind Christward. He is your peace.
