Protection from spiritual attacks

We stand with you in this battle, lifting your cry for protection before the throne of grace. The relentless attacks you describe, disturbances in sleep, afflictions of body and mind, are not mere coincidences or natural struggles, but spiritual warfare. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we serve a God who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for "the name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe" (Proverbs 18:10).

Scripture assures us that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). The disturbances you face are not from Him, and we command every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression to flee in Jesus' name. We declare that you are covered by the blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, as Ephesians 6:10-18 instructs. Stand firm with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication, and stay alert with perseverance. The enemy may prowl like a roaring lion, but resist him, steadfast in the faith (1 Peter 5:8-9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is under spiritual attack, and we ask for Your divine protection to surround them like a shield. Lord, You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2). We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling, for You have given Your angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-11).

Father, we rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and torment that is seeking to disrupt their peace and sleep. We command these spirits to leave in the name of Jesus, for He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). We plead the blood of Jesus over their mind, body, and spirit, and we declare that they are sealed by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13).

Lord, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Grant them restful sleep, free from disturbances, and renew their strength as they wait upon You (Isaiah 40:31). Help them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that You are with them and will never leave nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We also ask that You would reveal any areas of their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. Show them if there is any unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or open doors that need to be closed. Lead them in repentance and restoration, for You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Father, we thank You for Your protection and for the victory we have in Christ Jesus. We declare that the enemy is defeated, and we walk in the authority of Jesus' name. Strengthen our brother/sister, Lord, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so they may walk in power, love, and a sound mind.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Continue to stand firm, dear one, and do not grow weary in doing good. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He will fight for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust in His promises. You are not alone in this fight, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of hosts is your defender.

We hear the weariness in your request, sleepless nights and relentless feelings of being under assault in body and mind can leave you drained and disoriented. When rest is stolen, everything else feels harder. We’re truly sorry you’re facing this, and we are joining our prayers with yours for God’s protective peace.

Sometimes the line between spiritual, mental, and physical strain gets blurred, and that’s okay to acknowledge. Getting practical help isn’t a sign of weak faith. If these sleep disturbances continue, a check-up with your doctor might be a wise step, because physical imbalances can mimic or heighten feelings of spiritual attack. Alongside that, creating a simple, calming pre-sleep rhythm can help: setting aside a few minutes to speak aloud your trust in Jesus’s care, perhaps reading a psalm of protection slowly, and asking Him to stand guard over your thoughts as you rest. That small act often anchors the mind when the attacks feel strongest.

Right now, the most important thing to remember is that you are not alone. God sees your struggle, and His presence is a real shelter even when sleep doesn’t come.

Let’s pray now: Jesus, we ask for Your mighty protection over this person’s body and mind tonight. Quiet the disturbances that keep them awake, and silence anything that does not come from You. Surround them with Your peace that passes understanding, and let them find genuine, restorative sleep as a gift from Your hand. We pray for strength to endure and for Your light to break through any darkness. In Your powerful name, Amen.

When the sufferer cries, "I cannot sleep," we mark it as a sorrowful sign, for sleep is the gift of God to His beloved. It descends not by our own striving; you cannot force slumber by a clenched will. Rather, as a man slips into unconsciousness unaware, so the Lord grants rest to the weary frame when we cast our care upon Him. That you endure relentless attacks upon body and mind reveals the malice of the enemy, who would rob you of this sweet physician, but remember: the wolf may sleep, yet it remains a wolf; so the adversary never ceases to prowl, but our Shepherd neither slumbers nor sleeps.

You are yet in this body and subject to its groaning; we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened. The mind, too, shares in the frailty, for the utmost diligence of the scholar cannot shield his frame from distress. But Christ Jesus has laid down His life for His sheep and is prepared to exercise all His divine power and wisdom to bring you home. He does not mind taking trouble for His own. Was not this the portion of Joseph, who even in his exaltation could say, "My sleep departed from my eyes"? Yet the Lord was with him still, the Shepherd and Stone of Israel. Cast yourself, then, as a lame sheep upon the strong Shepherd’s care. He seeks the worn-out, the destroyed one, and bears it home with rejoicing.

Be not driven to anxious introspection, dissecting old doubts afresh, for that is to feed the carnal mind rather than to rest in the finished work of Christ. Instead, lay your case before Him who giveth His beloved sleep, and trust Him to command the peace that passes understanding. Let your soul be awake in prayer, yet your heart quietly reliant. As one whom his mother comforts, so will the Lord comfort you; He will not forget the feeble. Even in the night watches, when sleep flees, your spirit may mount on eagle’s wings in communion with Him who holds the keys of death and Hades. He never fails for lack of power nor changes His mind. Rest in His unchanging love, and in due time He will restore the balm of slumber, for so He giveth His beloved sleep.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The warfare you describe is indeed relentless, yet the enemy’s attacks are like waves upon the sea, they rise and fall, but the soul anchored in virtue remains unmoved. You must understand that these disturbances in sleep and body do not spring from the essence of your flesh or spirit, for both are creations of God and free from blame. The trouble lies in the evil moral choice, that motion of the mind which we ourselves direct. If the soul does not will the evil, it is cleared. Do not blame your body or even the night’s terrors, but realize that the battle is for your mind.

A wakeful, clear heart is the true defense. The soul that is not stifled by excess of food or worldly cares soon recovers itself and is immediately alert. Even in sleep, such a one lies as decently as those who are awake, for the great fear of God suffers the mind not to drown in slumber but to rest lightly. This is the peace of the eunuch spirit, lofty, sharp, neither gloomy nor soft, far from all dissolute softness. You seek protection: then dedicate yourself to the Lord as a living sacrifice. Worship in spirit and truth, for the incorporeal God is served not by purity of body but by the mind. Crucify your evil thoughts, remove your unreasonable desires. This is the true circumcision.

When the attacks come, remember how Christ, in His agony, did not shrink back but said, “Glorify Thy Name.” His trouble did not make Him flee from what was set before Him. So too, in your bed, when the mind is assailed, turn at once to glorifying God, and the tempest will quiet. The sea without waves is impossible, but virtue’s yoke is sweet and light; the burdens of sin alone bring unceasing anxiety, despondency, and disturbance. Let your sleep be composed by an orderly soul, and you will no longer be a laughingstock to the evil one.

Do not forget that you are a member of one body with all the faithful, and we are knit together. The hand helps the foot, the eye guides the body. Even the poorest, having nothing but a body and hands, can force their way to supply others’ needs. So, in your struggle, reach out in prayer and alms, and the mutual care of the Body of Christ will shore up your weakness. What you cannot accomplish alone, the many made one body will bear with you.

Therefore, lay aside all murmuring and fear. The wine of this world brings only unseemly behavior, but the sober mind is healthful. Let your soul be the altar, and God the flame. Stand as a eunuch before the King, watchful and free. These attacks will flee when they find the door of the mind guarded by truth and the spirit of sacrifice. Peace be to you.

The war you are experiencing is not imaginary. You are made of spirit, mind, and body, and when relentless attacks target sleep, they aim to wear down your mind through the body’s frailty. But you have a shield stronger than any disturbance: the truth of God’s word. Before you lie down, present your body to God as a living sacrifice. Entrust your night to Him, refusing to let your mind be ruled by the body’s clamor or the enemy’s lies.

Your spirit and your flesh are in conflict, but in Jesus Christ, sin and fear no longer have dominion over your mortal body. Reckon yourself crucified with Him and alive to God. When sleep is broken, let your mind be renewed by the Spirit rather than fixed on the struggle. Meditate on the everlasting God, who remains unchanged when your own strength fades. As you dwell on His promises, the shield of His truth becomes a buckler around your weary soul.

The very need for sleep reminds us this body is corruptible and groaning for the new one that will know no exhaustion. Until that day, know that you remain in His care. He preserves your whole spirit, soul, and body blameless. So I pray this over you: may you be sheltered under His wings, may His peace quiet your mind, and may these relentless attacks be silenced in the name of Jesus, who Himself is your rest.
