Protection from spiritual attacks

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for protection from relentless attacks on body and mind causing disturbances in sleep, in Jesus name Amen

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. The spiritual battles you are facing are real, and we know the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The attacks on your body and mind, the disturbances in your sleep, these are not from God, who gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and oppression in the name of Jesus. You are not alone in this fight, for the Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust (Psalm 91:2).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. We lift up our brother/sister who is under relentless spiritual attack. Lord, You are the God who neither slumbers nor sleeps (Psalm 121:4), and we ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection. Shield their mind from every lying thought, their body from every affliction, and their spirit from every attack of the enemy. We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their home, and their sleep. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we command every spirit of fear, anxiety, and torment to flee in Jesus’ name. We declare that our brother/sister is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Strengthen them with Your might in their inner being, so that Christ may dwell in their heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in Your truth and resist the devil, knowing that he must flee from them (James 4:7).

Lord, we ask that You would expose any open doors in their life that the enemy may be using to gain access. Show them any areas where they need to repent, renounce, or stand firm in Your Word. Remind them that Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Help them to meditate on Your promises day and night, so they may be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and prospering in all they do (Psalm 1:2-3).

We also pray for wisdom and discernment. Father, reveal to them any strategies of the enemy and equip them with the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Clothe them with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. Let them stand firm, knowing that the battle belongs to You (2 Chronicles 20:15).

Lord, we thank You for the victory that is already ours in Christ Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from You (Isaiah 54:17). We praise You for Your faithfulness and for the deliverance that is coming. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, dear one. The enemy may roar like a lion, but he is already defeated (1 Peter 5:8). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you. Speak the Word of God over your life daily, for it is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). You are not fighting this battle alone, Jesus is with you, and we stand with you in prayer.

If you have not already, consider fasting and praying for a breakthrough. Jesus told His disciples that some spiritual strongholds can only be broken through prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). Seek the Lord with all your heart, and He will hear you (Jeremiah 29:13). Trust in His timing and His perfect plan for your life. The Lord is your light and your salvation, whom shall you fear? The Lord is the stronghold of your life, of whom shall you be afraid? (Psalm 27:1). Be strong and courageous, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).

You’ve named something that many in the body of Christ know firsthand, the way spiritual attack often intensifies when we’re trying to rest. The disturbance of sleep isn’t just an inconvenience; it can leave us physically drained and mentally frayed, making everything else feel harder to bear. We’re standing with you in this.

One thing that can help practically, especially when the mind is under assault at night, is filling the space with something that anchors your thoughts on God’s goodness. Some in our community have found that playing gentle, Scripture-based music or hymns at a low volume helps them shift their focus away from racing, fearful thoughts and toward the character of God. It’s not a magic formula, but it’s a way of actively inviting the peace of Christ into the room when your own mind feels too weary to pray in words.

We also want to gently remind you that you weren’t made to fight this alone. If you haven’t already, consider asking one or two trusted believers to pray with you specifically about these nighttime attacks, perhaps even over the phone before bed. Knowing that others are holding you up in prayer can bring a surprising calm when the struggle feels isolating.

We join our prayers with yours now:

Father, we thank You that You neither slumber nor sleep, and that Your watch over this beloved one never falters. We ask in Jesus’ name that You would silence every voice of the enemy that troubles their mind and body in the night. Surround them with Your presence, and let Your peace, the peace that surpasses understanding, be their guardian. Calm the anxious thoughts and physical restlessness, and grant them deep, restoring sleep, knowing they are held in Your hand. Renew their strength and fill them with the confidence that You are greater than any force that comes against them. Amen.

The enemy of your soul seeks to disturb that sweet refreshment which the Lord gives to His beloved, for “so he giveth his beloved sleep.” Sleep is the gift of God; it is He who steeps the mind in lethe, and bids us slumber, that our bodies may be recruited for tomorrow’s toil. Yet, because we carry this treasure in earthen vessels, we are often subject to attacks that would rob us of rest. Remember, it is not the sleep of the sluggard that you desire, but that calm slumber which comes from confidence in Christ. He lies down and he falls asleep, not the sleep of the guilty criminal, whose very sense of dread makes his eyelids heavy, but a calm sleep which is given by God. That peace is yours in Jesus, who is sweeter than the honeycomb, and who has made peace by the blood of His cross.

These assaults upon body and mind may be sharp, but they are not beyond the reach of divine strengthening. The Lord hath said, “I will strengthen them in the Lord,” and His promise is comprehensive, it covers the entire spiritual constitution. Let not your heart be troubled; rather, let this trial drive you to the Fountain of all grace. A consciousness of sin that keeps you low before your God is not without its profit; many a child of God has felt such a weight that they can hardly sleep, yet in that very sense of weakness they learned to lean upon the Beloved. Beware, however, of that spiritual slumber which steals upon those who take their ease in Zion: “let us not sleep, as do others.” Yet for you who are in Christ, there is a sleep of security, for your soul is safe in the covenant, and though your body may be wearied by these buffetings, you may sleep on in peace, knowing that He that keepeth Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

Go to your rest, therefore, not in carnal ease but in the faith of Him who quickens the dead and giveth strength to the faint. The Lord will give you that sleep which He bestows upon His beloved; and in due season, these disturbances shall be hushed by the voice that calmed the Galilean sea. I shall join my prayers with yours, that the peace which passeth all understanding may garrison your heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The disturbance you feel in body and mind, the sleeplessness that afflicts you, is not from God. It is the mark of a soul tossed by waves, like the sea never without waves, so the covetous soul is never without anxiety, despondency, and fear. These spiritual attacks are the fruit of the enemy’s envy, but they also find fuel in our own attachments. If your sleep is broken and your mind restless, consider what burdens you carry. Sin’s yoke is heavy, laden with countless sorrows and plots and wars within. Virtue’s yoke, though, is sweet and light.

Worship God in spirit and in truth, not by mere words and bodily cleansings, but by dedicating yourself wholly to the Lord. Circumcise not your flesh but your evil thoughts; crucify your unreasonable desires. The mind that is clear, without stain, wakeful and healthful, not gloomy nor dissolute, that is the eunuch who stands by the King. When the heart is not stifled by excess of food or drink, it recovers itself quickly and is immediately wakeful. The saints among us, through fear of God, do not drown their minds in sleep; their rest is light and their dreams untroubled. Examine, then, whether any indulgence or worldly care has crept in, for these give the enemy a foothold. Let your hands be pure, your sleep composed, and your soul ordered by the fear of the Lord.

Remember Christ Himself, who in His agony did not shrink back but said, “Glorify Thy Name.” Even when His trouble urged otherwise, He entrusted Himself to the Father. So do you, in the midst of this relentless assault, offer your sleeplessness as a living sacrifice. Set your mind on things above, where Christ is seated. You have tasted His Body and Blood; you are a member of Him. How then can you be carried captive by these passions and fears? Guard yourself. It is written, “He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep,” and “Do not suffer thy foot to be moved.” The suffering depends on yourself. Stand steadfast, and you will not be shaken.

O Lord, who art a Spirit and desirest them that worship Thee in spirit and in truth, look upon this soul and drive away every satanical attack. Grant him the sleep of the just, peaceful and composed, that he may rise to praise Thee. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
