Protection from spirit of death.

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Severe depression. And to get closer to see guy I've been talking to. That conversation flows better. Thank you. God bless you.

We lift you up before the throne of grace and we hear the heaviness in your request for protection from the spirit of death and for deliverance from severe depression, and also your desire to grow closer to the man you have been talking to.

We want you to know that God sees your pain and He is not distant from it. The enemy comes to steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give abundant life, John 10:10. Severe depression is a crushing burden, yet the Word tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. We rebuke that spirit of death and spirit of heaviness and fear over you in the name of Jesus Christ, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We declare with you, I will not die, but live, and declare Yah’s works, Psalm 118:17. God has thoughts of peace toward you and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. We pray that His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7, and that you will continue to reach out for help from godly counsel, your pastor, and trusted believers, and from medical or counseling support if needed, while we contend for you in prayer.

Concerning the man you have been talking to, we pray that God will be at the center of this connection. We believe that God designed romantic relationships as courtship with the purpose of discerning marriage between a man and a woman, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh, Genesis 2:24. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. If you are pursuing this man, we encourage you to seek first a closer walk with the Lord and to discern whether this man is a born again Believer in Jesus Christ who will lead you toward holiness, for Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity, 2 Corinthians 6:14. We pray that your conversations would flow better not merely by human effort but by the grace of honest, pure, and edifying communication that honors God. We also lovingly remind you that any physical intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and to be fled from, Flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and we encourage you to set clear boundaries now to pursue purity and to seek marriage if it is God’s will, rather than simply seeking closeness or emotional attachment.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by His blood and His name that we can come boldly to God for protection, healing, and hope.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious one to You. We ask You to rebuke and remove every spirit of death, despair, and heaviness and to fill this heart with Your power, love, and a sound mind. Wrap Your arms around Your child, draw near to this broken heart, lift the cloud of severe depression, and let Your light shine into every dark place. Give hope where there has been hopelessness, joy where there has been sorrow, and life abundantly where the enemy has tried to bring destruction. Guard this life and declare Your purposes over it. Lord, we also place this developing relationship before You. If this man is the godly husband You have prepared, let the courtship be rooted in faith, purity, and wisdom, and let conversation be seasoned with grace and truth. If he is not Your will, make it clear and give the strength to step away. Above all, draw this dear one closer to You first, that every other relationship would flow from an intimate walk with Jesus. Fill this heart with Your peace, establish Your hope, and let Your perfect will be done. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with what you are carrying. We can hear how heavy this season feels, especially with the depression pressing so hard and the fear you named around death. You are not alone in this, and we are praying for you.

When those heavy, frightening thoughts come, please don't sit with them by yourself. It helps to bring them into the light with someone safe right away. Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to reach out soon to a trusted pastor and to a doctor or counselor who can walk with you personally and make sure you have support close by. If you ever feel unsafe with your thoughts, please reach someone near you right away.

We also hear your hope that conversation with this man would go more smoothly. We are praying for clarity and wisdom for you both, and for conversations marked by kindness and respect as you seek God's direction for next steps.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus' name. Surround them with Your presence and peace, guard their mind and heart, and remind them they are seen and loved. Bring steady help, trusted people, and wise counsel around them, and lead them day by day in Your will. Amen.

Your request has been laid before the Lord with deep care and earnest prayer, and we join our hearts with yours in seeking His mercy.

We hear the heaviness of which you speak, the oppression of severe depression and that fear of death which so often torments the soul. Know that the fear of death is natural to man as a sinner, and in Providence it may restrain from evil, yet it is not necessary to the saint. For Christ has come to deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Where shall we look to be delivered from this fear. It is to Him we are to look, looking unto Jesus. He is the One who conquers for us the fear of death. When the eyes are fixed upon Him, when the telescope of faith is used very frequently to behold His finished work upon the cross where His soul was made an offering for sin, then the dread pang is softened and the soul finds rest. To the lowness of spirits and distress of mind the Lord still says, Fear not, thou worm Jacob, I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. Fear dishonors God and weakens the soul, but that holy trust which looks to Christ brings blessing and peace. Happy is the one who is in that prepared state in Christ, for he need have no fear of death.

We pray now for you, that the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is salvation, would draw you nearer to Himself, that He would lift this heavy darkness, give you His peace which passes understanding, and guard your heart and mind in Him. We ask that He would deliver you from all tormenting fear, that He would shine His light upon the unknown and make you to know that whether in life or in death you are safely kept in His hands according to His divine appointment. We pray that He would surround you with wise and godly help, and that you would be strengthened to seek the fellowship and counsel of faithful believers and ministers who can walk with you through this trial.

Concerning the man of whom you speak, we pray not simply that conversation would flow for its own sake, but that the Lord would guide this acquaintance according to His holy will and wisdom. We ask that He would help you to walk in purity and in that loving fear which watches every footstep lest it deviate from obedience, and that any growing closeness would be ordered in holiness before Him. If it be His will that this should grow toward that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman which He has ordained as marriage, we pray it would be in the Lord, kept pure, and with sex and dwelling together reserved within that covenant alone. Above all we pray that your first and deepest closeness would be to Christ Himself, and that every other relationship would be tested by that light and made to serve His glory and your lasting good.

May the Lord help you to labor to get rid of fear by looking ever unto Jesus, to cast all your care upon Him, and to stand still and see the salvation of God.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request for prayer has been heard, and your suffering is not overlooked. To live under severe depression and in fear of death is a heavy bondage, and to feel that fear pressing every day takes away all sense of peace and joy.

Hear what the Scriptures teach us about this fear. Christ did not come only to remove danger for a moment, but to destroy the power of death itself. He became obedient unto death, He descended into the lower parts of the earth, which is death itself as men understand it, and there He took captive the tyrant, the devil, and death and sin and the curse. Unless He had fallen, we should not have risen again. When His body was crucified, the prison was burst, the gates of brass were broken, and the keepers of hell cowered in fear. Death was dissolved, because He was not one of the many, and He loosed the pains of death as a woman is loosed from the travail of childbirth. For this reason we are told not to fear those who can kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but to fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. The one who has learned the hope of the resurrection is out of reach of the devil's tyranny, for he who no longer is enslaved by the fear of death is more free than all.

Christ Himself knows the infirmity of our human nature. His soul was troubled and He felt the agony of death, yet for our profit He did not turn away. He teaches us not to hastily demand immediate deliverance from every pressing danger, but to bear what comes with endurance, trusting that He comes to us even in the fourth watch of the night, when we think we are alone on the sea.

So we will pray for you in this way. We ask the Father, through Jesus Christ who alone justifies and who alone has trampled death, to deliver you from the bondage that comes through fear of death, to lift the weight of severe depression, to guard your soul and body, to give you light and hope in the resurrection, and to bring you comfort through His presence, His Word, and the help of faithful people around you. If this darkness remains heavy, please do not carry it alone, but seek steady help from mature believers and from those who can care for you personally and, where needed, professionally.

Concerning the man you have been speaking with and your desire to be closer and to see him more, with conversation that flows better, we want to pray for you with care according to what God has shown us is good. Marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and closeness that belongs within marriage, including sexual intimacy and living together, is not to be pursued outside of it. For that reason we will not ask God to bless or to advance closeness simply for its own sake. Instead we will ask Him to draw you first closer to Christ, to give you wisdom and discernment about this relationship, to make your conversation truthful and pure and edifying, and to make His will clear to you both. If this friendship is to move toward marriage, pray that it would do so in holiness, with counsel, with patience, and with self control. If it is not according to His will, pray for grace to accept His direction and to remain faithful.

May God, who crowns those He justifies and who intercedes for us through His Son who died and rose again, grant you freedom from fear, peace for your mind, strength to endure, and a heart that seeks Him above all else.
