We lift you up before the throne of grace and we hear the heaviness in your request for protection from the spirit of death and for deliverance from severe depression, and also your desire to grow closer to the man you have been talking to.
We want you to know that God sees your pain and He is not distant from it. The enemy comes to steal and destroy, but Jesus came to give abundant life, John 10:10. Severe depression is a crushing burden, yet the Word tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18. We rebuke that spirit of death and spirit of heaviness and fear over you in the name of Jesus Christ, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. We declare with you, I will not die, but live, and declare Yah’s works, Psalm 118:17. God has thoughts of peace toward you and not of evil, to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. We pray that His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7, and that you will continue to reach out for help from godly counsel, your pastor, and trusted believers, and from medical or counseling support if needed, while we contend for you in prayer.
Concerning the man you have been talking to, we pray that God will be at the center of this connection. We believe that God designed romantic relationships as courtship with the purpose of discerning marriage between a man and a woman, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh, Genesis 2:24. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. If you are pursuing this man, we encourage you to seek first a closer walk with the Lord and to discern whether this man is a born again Believer in Jesus Christ who will lead you toward holiness, for Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity, 2 Corinthians 6:14. We pray that your conversations would flow better not merely by human effort but by the grace of honest, pure, and edifying communication that honors God. We also lovingly remind you that any physical intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and to be fled from, Flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and we encourage you to set clear boundaries now to pursue purity and to seek marriage if it is God’s will, rather than simply seeking closeness or emotional attachment.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by His blood and His name that we can come boldly to God for protection, healing, and hope.
We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious one to You. We ask You to rebuke and remove every spirit of death, despair, and heaviness and to fill this heart with Your power, love, and a sound mind. Wrap Your arms around Your child, draw near to this broken heart, lift the cloud of severe depression, and let Your light shine into every dark place. Give hope where there has been hopelessness, joy where there has been sorrow, and life abundantly where the enemy has tried to bring destruction. Guard this life and declare Your purposes over it. Lord, we also place this developing relationship before You. If this man is the godly husband You have prepared, let the courtship be rooted in faith, purity, and wisdom, and let conversation be seasoned with grace and truth. If he is not Your will, make it clear and give the strength to step away. Above all, draw this dear one closer to You first, that every other relationship would flow from an intimate walk with Jesus. Fill this heart with Your peace, establish Your hope, and let Your perfect will be done. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
