Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for protection from greed and for grace to love God as the antidote and to rub that love off on our neighbors.
We have been praying with you and thanking the Lord for His warning to beware of greed at all times, Lk 12:15, and for the call to love Him with all our heart and soul and mind and strength, Mark 12:30, and to love our neighbors as ourselves, Mark 12:31. We have asked Him to keep deception and lies far from us and to give us neither poverty nor riches but what is sufficient for us, Prov 30:8, and to keep our hearts from covetousness, Ex 20:17, and from loving the world or the things in the world, 1 Jn 2:15. We have prayed that if riches increase we would not set our hearts on them, Ps 62:10, but would remain humble and use whatever He provides to be rich in good deeds, 1 Tim 6:17-18, with contentment and godliness which is great gain, 1 Tim 6:6, remembering that the earth is the Lord's and everything in it, Ps 24:1. We have also prayed that the desire for other things would not choke the Word, Mark 4:18-19, and that He would keep us from temptation, Matt 6:13, and from the evil one, John 17:15, and help us to pursue love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith, 1 Tim 1:5.
