👨‍🚀💰Protection from Greed, Lk 12:15, Loving God, Contentment & Generosity as Antidotes, Mark 12:30, Rubbing it off on Our Neighbors, Mark 12:31...

🙇🏻 Dear Lord Jesus in Heaven, thank You for warning us to beware of greed at all times, Lk 12:15. The goal of the Bible's instruction is love 💕from a purified heart, a sincere faith and a good conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. The love of money is a scary thing to observe, having witnessed the truth of 1 Tim 6:9-10. Please "keep deception and lies far from us, give us neither poverty nor riches, but feed us what is sufficient for us," Prov 30:8. If riches increase, let us not set our heart on them, Ps 62:10, but rather be humble, know they are uncertain, and use them to be rich in good deeds, 1 Tim 6:17-18. Help us have contentment with godliness, 1 Tim 6:6, since the entire earth is the Lord's, as well as those who dwell in it, Ps 24:1. Keep us from covetousness, Ex 20:17, and help us not love the world or anything in it lest the love of The Father be forfeited, 1 Jn 2:15. Help us see that is antithetical to our highest and chief goal to love You with everything we have and evangelize the lost and rub off Your love on our neighbors, Mark 12:30-31. Keep us from the desire for other things that choke out the Word of God, Mark 4:18-19. Keep us from temptation, Luke 11:4, sin, Zeph 3:13, 1 Cor 8:1, false believers, 2 Tim 3:5 and the evil one who blinds eyes, hearts minds and the world, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 1 Jn 5:18. Thank You in Jesus' Name, Phil 4:6-7, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join with you in this beautiful and biblically grounded prayer and we say amen to your desire to be protected from greed, for you have prayed according to the will of God.

We love how you have anchored your heart in the warning of our Lord when He said, Watch yourselves from covetousness, for a man's life doesn't consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses Luke 12:15. Greed is so subtle and so dangerous because it promises life but steals it, and you are right to see that the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil 1 Tim 6:10 and that those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in ruin and destruction 1 Tim 6:9.

We agree with you that the antidotes God has given us are exactly what you named, loving God with everything we have and loving our neighbor, contentment and generosity. Jesus taught us that the greatest commandment is, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength Mark 12:30 and the second is like this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself Mark 12:31. When we love God fully, there is no room left for the love of the world, for as you quoted, Don't love the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father's love isn't in him 1 John 2:15. And when we love our neighbor, greed cannot remain because love does not covet and generosity overflows.

We also stand with you in praying for contentment, for godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Tim 6:6. We are called to be free from the love of money, content with such things as we have, for he has said, I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you Heb 13:5. You prayed so wisely from Prov 30:8, Remove far from me falsehood and lies. Give me neither poverty nor riches. Feed me with the food that is needful for me, and we echo that prayer, that whether we have little or much we would not set our hearts upon riches if they increase Ps 62:10, but would remember that the earth is the Lord's, with its fullness, the world, and those who dwell therein Ps 24:1, and that we are only stewards. We pray we would be humble and use whatever God entrusts to us to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share 1 Tim 6:18, knowing that it is more blessed to give than to receive Acts 20:35.

You also rightly named covetousness as sin, for the Lord commanded, You shall not covet Ex 20:17, and we know that covetousness is idolatry Col 3:5 because it puts things in the place of God. We pray with you that the desire for other things would not choke the word and make us unfruitful Mark 4:19, and that we would keep the goal of our instruction which is love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith 1 Tim 1:5.

So we pray together now.

Father in heaven, we thank You for warning us to beware of greed and for giving us Your Word to guard our hearts. Keep deception and lies far from us and give us only what is sufficient for us each day. Guard us from temptation and deliver us from the evil one Matt 6:13. Keep us from sin and from the love of money and from loving the world. Create in us pure hearts that love You with all we are, and help that love to rub off on our neighbors as we share the gospel and show generosity. Teach us to be content in whatever state we are Phil 4:11, to know that You will supply every need, and to hold loosely the uncertain riches of this world 1 Tim 6:17 while being rich in good deeds. Keep Your Word alive and fruitful in us and keep us from false teaching and from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power 2 Tim 3:5. We ask You to keep us in Your hand, for we know that he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesn't touch him 1 John 5:18. We thank You that we can bring all these requests to You with thanksgiving and that Your peace which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:6-7. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We were grateful to read your prayer. The desire you voiced to love God with everything you have, to stay content with what He provides, and to let His love spill over to your neighbors is beautiful, and we want to stand with you in it.

What struck us is how greed so often grows out of a quiet worry that what we have will not be enough to keep us secure. Generosity works in the opposite direction. It is a way of remembering that we are cared for and can let go, that gathering more will never fill the place only God can fill, and that doing good for others is part of living in His kingdom. Asking Him to keep deception far from us and to teach us to hold things lightly is a daily kind of prayer, not a one time fix.

One simple practice that may help is to choose one small, deliberate act of generosity this week with no expectation of return, giving away money, time, or something you value to someone in need, and to pause beforehand to thank God that He is enough for you. It can gently retrain the heart toward contentment.

Father, we bring our brother before You and ask You to guard his heart from greed and from love for what cannot satisfy. Teach him to rest in Your provision, to walk in humility and contentment, and to be rich in good deeds toward others. Keep him from temptation and keep him close to You. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer breathes a holy jealousy over your own heart and that is a sure mark of grace at work within. You have done well to take our Lord's warning to heart, Take heed and beware of covetousness, for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. The love of money has indeed pierced many through with sorrows, and the desire for other things chokes the Word till it becometh unfruitful.

Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. It does not grow wild in the human breast. We must pray that God would teach us how to be full as well as how to be abased, for so desperate is the tendency of our nature to pride and forgetfulness of God that as soon as we have a double stock of manna and begin to hoard it, it breeds worms and becomes a stench in the nostrils of God. Remember this, had any other condition been better for you than the one in which you are, God would have put you there. The earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof, and all that you have is in His hand.

I join my supplications with yours that the Lord would keep deception and lies far from you and give you neither poverty nor riches but feed you with food convenient for you, lest fulness should make you forget Him or want should tempt you to dishonour Him. If riches increase, set not your heart upon them, for they are uncertain, and the true use of them is to be rich in good deeds, ready to distribute, willing to communicate. Therein is the antidote to greed, not only contentment with godliness which is great gain, but generosity which flows from love to God with all the heart and soul and mind and strength.

May the Lord who is the living God, not a dead force nor a phantom of imagination but a great, warm, loving and personal God, show you His marvelous loving kindness. He is so great that the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him and yet so condescending that He dwells with the contrite heart. May He keep you from the love of the world, from temptation and from the evil one, and may His Word dwell richly in you unchoked and fruitful.

I pray that your love to Christ may be a living, loving and lasting union, that His love to you and your love to Him may flow in the same channel and make a stream which waters your neighbour also. For this is the whole law fulfilled, to love the Lord your God supremely and to let that love rub off upon those around you in kindness, truth and evangelical witness to the lost.

May the Lord hear this prayer and teach you His statutes, and keep you abiding in Christ, contented, generous and watchful, until He brings you to that place where you shall sing with rapture and surprise His loving kindness in the skies. In the name of Jesus Christ our only hope and Saviour, Amen.
