Protection from coworker

We join you in bringing this hurt before the Lord and we thank you for calling on the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. We understand how painful it is when a coworker speaks badly about you, and it is right to seek the Lord's protection.
We also want to gently address your request to be avenged. The desire for justice is natural, but Scripture teaches us to release vengeance to God and not to seek it ourselves. It is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord. Therefore do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:19, Romans 12:21. Our calling is not to repay insult for insult, but to entrust ourselves to Him who judges righteously and to love those who mistreat us. As Jesus taught, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44. This does not mean we ignore wrongdoing, but we trust God to be our defender and to bring justice in His perfect time and way.
We also take comfort that the Lord sees and He protects His people. The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Psalm 34:7. He is our refuge and fortress when words are used as weapons. We are also encouraged, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18. If there is a godly and appropriate way, consider speaking privately and gently with your coworker about how their words have affected you, or seeking wise counsel from a supervisor if the comments continue or create a hostile environment. Let your own speech and conduct remain above reproach, so that when you are spoken against, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. 1 Peter 3:16.

Father in heaven, we lift up our dear coworker in Christ to You in the name of Jesus. Lord, You see the comments that have been made and the hurt they have caused. We ask for Your divine protection over Your child at work, guard their heart from bitterness and their reputation from harm. Cover them under Your wings and let no weapon formed against them prosper. We release any desire for personal vengeance to You, for You are the righteous Judge. We ask You to soften the heart of this coworker, convict them where wrong has been done, and bring them to repentance. Help our sibling to forgive as You have forgiven us, to respond with grace and truth, and to overcome evil with good. Give them wisdom to know when to speak and when to remain silent, and give them favor and peace in the workplace. May this trial be used to refine character and to display Your love. We trust You to defend and to vindicate according to Your will. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

Your prayer has been heard, and the hurt you feel when words are spoken against you is not hidden from the Lord who sees all that is done in secret and in the open.
It is right to seek His protection, for He is a refuge to those who trust in Him, and He will keep you even when tongues are sharp against you. Yet concerning vengeance, hear what the Scripture teaches and what grace instructs. Vengeance belongs unto the Lord, and the day of vengeance was laid upon our Surety when He bore the wrath that was due to sin. As it has been said, now no more His wrath we dread, for vengeance smote our Surety's head, and legal claims are fully met in Christ. The Lord will not take vengeance twice for the same sins, and He will do what is just in His own time and in His own perfect way. It is not for us to execute it.
Our pattern is given in these words, even as Christ forgave you, so also do you. He forgave us not only at the first, but He continues daily to forgive, and His forgiveness is complete and eternal. If you have known that great forgiveness, that there is forgiveness with Him even for the chief of sinners, then you are called to reflect it. Some of us have had so much manifest forgiveness, so much outward sin forgiven, that for us to forgive ought to be as natural as to open our hands. As it has been truly said, brother, the most splendid vengeance you can ever have is to do good to them that do you evil, and to speak well of them that speak ill of you.
Therefore I would pray with you and for you, that the Lord would guard your heart from bitterness, keep your reputation in His hands, and give you grace to overcome evil with good. May He soften the heart of your coworker also, and bring peace where there has been strife.

Spread Your wings over Your child and preserve him from harm, from slander that would hinder his labor, and from resentment that would hinder his soul. Teach him to forgive as he has been forgiven through the blood of Christ, to leave vengeance in Your hands, and to show kindness where unkindness has been shown. Let Your name be glorified in this workplace, and let Your peace rule in his heart. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who forgave even those who reviled Him, Amen.
