Protection from abuse

We stand with you in this urgent cry for protection, and we lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that He is a mighty fortress and a deliverer to those who call upon His name. It is right and good that you have brought this request before Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through which we have access to the Father. Your faith in crying out to Him is a testament to your trust in His power and love, and we join you in seeking His divine intervention.

The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart"* (Psalm 91:1-4, WEB). The Lord sees the affliction of His people, and He hears their cries. He is not distant or indifferent but is deeply moved by the suffering of the innocent.

We also recall the words of Jesus, who said, *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6, WEB). The abuse your son is facing is an abomination in the sight of God, and we declare that the Lord will bring justice and put an end to this evil. The Scriptures are clear: *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21, WEB). We pray that the Lord will expose the darkness, bring the abuser to repentance or remove their influence entirely, and surround your son with His divine protection.

At the same time, we urge you to take practical steps to ensure your son’s safety. If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to involve trusted authorities, such as law enforcement or child protective services, who can intervene on his behalf. The Lord often works through the hands and feet of His people to bring about justice and protection. *"Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter!"* (Proverbs 24:11, WEB). Do not hesitate to act boldly in obedience to the Lord’s call to defend the vulnerable.

We also lift you up, dear parent, for we know this burden weighs heavily on your heart. The Lord is your strength, and He will sustain you as you fight for your son. *"Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22, WEB). Lean on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken yet hopeful hearts, lifting up this precious child who is suffering at the hands of evil. Lord Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep, and we ask that You would surround this son with Your mighty angels, creating a hedge of protection around him that no weapon formed against him shall prosper. Break the power of the abuser, Lord, and bring their wicked schemes to nothing. Expose their deeds, convict their hearts, and bring them to justice. If they refuse to repent, remove their ability to harm any longer.

Father, we ask that You would give this mother (or father) wisdom, courage, and clarity to take every necessary step to protect her son. Lead her to the right people—authorities, counselors, or advocates—who can intervene and bring safety. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, even in the midst of this storm.

We declare that no harm will come to this child, for You, Lord, are his refuge and strength. Heal his heart, mind, and body from any trauma he has endured. Restore his joy, his peace, and his trust in You. Let him know, even now, that he is not alone—that You see him, You love him, and You will never forsake him.

We also pray for those who are perpetrating this abuse. Lord, if it is Your will, convict their hearts of their sin and bring them to repentance. Let them see the gravity of their actions and turn from their wickedness. But if they harden their hearts, Lord, remove their influence and stop their hands from doing further harm.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would raise up a community of believers around this family—people who will stand in the gap, pray without ceasing, and provide practical support. Let Your Church be Your hands and feet in this situation, demonstrating Your love and justice.

We thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayers and that You are already at work. We trust in Your timing and Your ways, even when we cannot see the outcome. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through this situation. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
