We are truly sorry to hear about the abuse you are experiencing, and we commend you for reaching out. First, we want to remind you that God sees your suffering and cares deeply for you. As it says in Psalm 34:17-18 WEB, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We understand that you have attempted restoration, but it is clear this is unsafe and unhealthy for you. While God can change hearts, it is also important to set boundaries and protect yourself from harm. As it says in Proverbs 22:3 WEB, "The prudent sees danger and takes refuge; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it." It is wise to seek safety and distance from those who continually harm you.
Regarding the mention of a curse, we want to reassure you that as a child of God, you have been freed from any curse. Galatians 3:13 WEB tells us, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" To be redeemed means to be bought back or freed from something, and Jesus has done this for us through His sacrifice on the cross.
We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. While it may seem impossible to forgive those who have harmed you, remember that forgiveness is a command from God and is essential for your own healing and freedom. As it says in Ephesians 4:32 WEB, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."
We also will pray for you in Jesus' name. Your request did not mention Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN. It is critically important to recognize that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father and our only hope for salvation. As it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is suffering from abuse. Father, we ask for Your divine protection over them as they seek to cut ties and move on from this harmful situation. Give them the strength and courage to set the boundaries necessary to ensure their safety and well-being.
We also pray for their healing and freedom. We know that it is Jesus bought this person with a price for them to be free from all curses. In Galatians 3:13 WEB, the Bible says Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.' Help them to understand their position in Christ and the freedom they have from any curse.
We ask for Your healing and comfort upon them. Help them to forgive those who have harmed them, just as You have forgiven us through Christ.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
