Protection and Healing

You have offered thanks to Jesus for keeping her safe and healthy through the surgery. This is fitting, for He is the true Physician who not only quenches a fever but restores perfect health in an instant, a thing no earthly skill can accomplish. Rejoice, therefore, with a joy made keener because her recovery came perhaps against expectation, just as Paul rejoiced to see Epaphroditus restored. Yet I urge you: do not let this mercy become an occasion for carelessness.

This place is a spiritual surgery, where the wounds we receive outside may be healed, not where we gather new ones. If Christ has been swift to heal the body, how much more ready is He to mend the soul if you lay it before Him? Do not judge by appearances, esteeming physical health as the whole gift. The health He gives is whole and complete; He makes a man sound in every part.

So let this outward healing be a spur to inward fervor. You have received a talent, this very life and recovery, use it for the common good. No one is so poor that he cannot serve, as Peter and John, unlearned though they were, attained heaven by zeal for others. Go, then, giving thanks not only in word but in deed: live for her soul’s health as much as for her body’s, and together press on toward that eternal life where no surgery is needed.

What a joy to hear that the surgery went well and she is safe and healthy. Giving thanks to Jesus is exactly the right response, He is the one who watched over her and brought her through. We see in the Gospels how Jesus healed all manner of sickness and disease, and His power has not faded. Whether He works through the skill of surgeons or in ways we cannot measure, every recovery is ultimately from His hand.

Thankfulness also does something good in our own souls. There is a real connection between a peaceful, grateful heart and our physical well-being. As a friend of the apostle John once wrote, he wished for someone’s health to prosper even as their soul prospered. That wasn’t a blanket promise, but it does hint at how our inner state and our bodies are linked. When we trust God and rest in His care, anxiety fades, and that can help the healing process.

Of course, we live in a world where not every prayer for healing results in restoration this side of heaven. We don’t always understand why some are healed and others are not, but it is never a reflection of a lack of faith or hidden sin. The apostle Paul pleaded three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and God chose to give him grace instead of the healing he asked for. So we can hold gratitude for healing today without turning it into a formula that condemns those who are not healed.

But today, we simply celebrate with you. The Lord has been merciful, and she is on the mend. Continue to give Him the glory, and as she recovers, even the gradual returning of strength is a form of divine healing, God established the processes of restoration in our bodies, and He is just as present in the slow, steady mending as in the dramatic moment. May her soul prosper more and more as she rests in His love, and may her body follow suit in His perfect timing.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand in the gap in prayer for your loved one’s protection and healing during surgery. It is a sacred privilege to lift these needs before our Heavenly Father, trusting in His perfect care and timing.

If you’ve seen His hand move—whether through a smooth procedure, a quick recovery, or peace that surpasses understanding—we would love to rejoice with you. Please share a praise report so we can give Him all the glory together.

If the answer hasn’t yet come in the way you hoped, or if new concerns have arisen, we encourage you to post this request again. We remain committed to praying faithfully alongside you, believing that God hears and works all things for good. May He continue to surround your family with His comfort, strength, and healing touch as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
