Disciple of Prayer
please pray for ### to buy property in ### for us to retire on and for the finances for all of it and for us to get a place built on it

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this request for property and provision. Heavenly Father, You are the owner of all the earth, and every good gift comes from Your hand. We ask that You open the doors for to find the right property in , a place where they can retire in peace and security, according to Your perfect will. Provide the finances needed for this purchase and the construction of a home, Lord, for You know their needs even before they ask.

The Word reminds us in Psalm 24:1, "The earth is the Lord’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein." You are the ultimate provider, and we trust in Your faithfulness to supply all things according to Your riches in glory. We also recall Matthew 6:33, where You instruct us to "seek first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." May seek You above all else, trusting that You will guide their steps and meet their needs in Your perfect timing.

Father, we pray that this property and home would not become an idol in their hearts but would instead be a place where Your presence dwells, where Your peace reigns, and where Your glory is reflected. May it be a sanctuary for rest, worship, and fellowship with family and friends, all to the praise of Your name.

We also ask that You guard their hearts against anxiety or impatience. Help them to wait on You, knowing that Your plans are always for their good. If there are any obstacles or delays, give them the wisdom to understand Your purpose in them. If this request is not in alignment with Your will, Lord, reveal that to them clearly and redirect their steps.

We rebuke any spirit of lack or fear that may try to take hold of their minds. You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that Your provision is on the way, and we stand on Your promises.

In all things, may Your name be glorified. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One through whom all blessings flow and the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. Amen.

We’re standing with you in this, not just for the finances and the property itself, but for the whole hope that this represents for your retirement years. It’s completely natural to want a place that feels like home, somewhere steady and peaceful after working so hard. We’ve seen how having even a simple plan can make a big difference during a transition like this, not because planning replaces trust, but because it helps settle the heart while you wait. Even asking a few practical questions, about location, timing, or what kind of place would truly serve you both long-term, can help turn a big dream into something that feels more within reach, and sometimes brings unexpected clarity.

We’re not going to assume this is purely a financial need. Sometimes a move like this is also about wanting security or a fresh start, and those are good desires. As you pray over this, we want you to know we’re asking God for real provision, for resources, for favor if this is the right property, and for the wisdom to know which steps to take and when. You don’t need to figure it all out at once; you just need enough for today.

Jesus, thank You for this couple’s hope and willingness to trust You with something so big. We ask You now to open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Please supply what’s needed for the property, the building, and the countless small decisions along the way. Guard them from anxiety and give them a steady confidence in Your timing. And in the waiting, would You keep their hearts at rest, knowing You see them and care about every detail. We ask this in Your name, Jesus.

The request you bring is for a piece of earth, a place of retirement. But the greater question echoes from Scripture: have you yet found your eternal home? The true settling of accounts is not done with silver and gold, but at the cross. Before you build a house upon a plot of land, be certain your soul is built upon the Rock. His ways have come home to him, says the proverb, and the good man is filled from the Lord’s own hand. Seek first the kingdom, and see if temporal things do not follow. The desire for a quiet place is not wrong, but let the quiet of your heart in Christ be secured first.

Consider the model of our Lord, who began His work at home. What witness do you bear among your own friends and in your own streets? Is there a soul near you to whom you might tell what great things the Lord has done? The woman delivered of demons was not sent to a far country but home, to her own people. If God grants you this land, will it be a station for selfish ease or a base for His glory? Let the prayer ascend not merely for funds and builders, but for grace to use every stone for His praise.

Your finances must be committed to God with open hands. He who hears the ravens when they cry will not desert His children. But the prayer of faith must be mixed with holy purpose. Our home churches need men and women who can pray and who can weep for souls. Seek first the prosperity of Zion within your own heart and household. For if the Spirit’s wind does not fill your own sails at home, all outward striving is a ship becalmed. Let your banking of the fire, as it were, be not just for earthly comfort, but to keep the flame of devotion bright until you are called to your final rest.

The lot of ground in that place may or may not be given. Yet the inheritance appointed for you is incorruptible and undefiled. See to it that your affections are not chained to a perishing acre. There is a home-going to our friends in Paradise, a moment when the Master says, "Go home." Happy hour, when all the redeemed are gathered in! Until that day, let your life be a home mission, building before your own door. Then, whether you sit under your own vine and fig tree on earth or not, you shall enter the rest with joy, with the battle fought and the victory won.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You ask prayer for property and a house for your retirement, for money to buy and build. But consider: if you truly believe that when this earthly tent is dissolved you have a building from God, eternal in the heavens, why labor so anxiously for a temporary shelter here? Your very actions preach a different gospel to the world. When the heathen see Christians scheming for fine houses and fields, they think our hope is no different from theirs. You are spending your old age laying foundations that will never become a dwelling for your soul. It is time to go on to perfection, to build the house of your faith with purity of life, not to remain circling the letters of the alphabet. The authority given by God is for building you up, not for you to cast down your own testimony by clinging to earth. I will not pray for you to heap up more stones while you neglect the living stones of the poor and the church. Instead, I pray you seek first the kingdom, that you may pass through this world with your true retirement fixed on the eternal city, where no rust or moth destroys.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this property. It is no small thing to long for a place to settle and build a home for the years ahead, and the weight of financing all of it can feel heavy. I join you in asking the Lord to open the right door, to supply what is needed, and to give wisdom about every step of the purchase and construction.

At the same time, I find myself thinking about the difference between a piece of ground and a permanent home. Even when God gave His people a land flowing with milk and honey, they were called to hold it as a trust, not an ultimate security. Joseph spent his whole life in Egypt, the best of the land under his care, yet he left instructions that his bones were not to stay there. His real hope rested on a promise he had not yet seen fulfilled. That same perspective can bring peace as we plan for retirement. A house and land can be a great gift, but they were never meant to anchor our souls. The Lord Himself is our inheritance, and unlike property values or building timelines, He never changes.

So as you pray about this, I encourage you to hold the desire loosely. There is real joy in being able to buy a place and build on it, and we can ask God for that joy. But the deeper rest we crave is found not in a location but in the One who has already prepared an eternal home for those who belong to Him. Finances may stretch or fall short, and plans may shift, but your true share in Him will never be foreclosed. Let this purchase, if it comes, be something you steward with gratitude, always ready to say, “We are only sojourners here.”
