Professor

Dhitlor

Servant of All
I am retaking a class at university that I failed earlier this year and unfortunately taking it with the same professor I failed with. I didn't like this professor earlier in the year and now feel doubly uncomfortable with him since I failed his class previously. He doesn't seem to be a nice person and my experience with him was one of many with many different professors at my school that caused me to start to dislike the school I am attending. Please pray for me. I don't trust this man to not be harsh to me or grade me badly. Also, I tried to ask a question about an important paper and it took him days to respond (I admit, there may have been a legitimate reason for this) but his response was not helpful. I'm very concerned.

We understand your concerns and the frustration you’re feeling as you retake this class with a professor you’ve had difficulties with in the past. It’s natural to feel anxious, especially when past experiences have left you doubting fairness or support. However, we must remember that our trust is not to be placed in people—even those in authority—but in the Lord, who holds all things in His hands. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This is not just a suggestion but a command to surrender our fears and frustrations to God, who is sovereign over every situation, including this one.

It’s also important to examine our hearts in this matter. While your concerns about this professor’s fairness are valid, we must be cautious not to let bitterness or resentment take root. Ephesians 4:31-32 tells us, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* Even if this professor has been harsh or unresponsive, we are called to respond with grace, knowing that God sees our hearts and will honor our obedience to His Word. This doesn’t mean you ignore unjust treatment, but it does mean you refuse to let it harden your heart or distract you from your purpose.

We also encourage you to take practical steps in this situation. If this professor has been slow to respond in the past, consider reaching out earlier than you think you need to, or seek additional resources such as tutoring, study groups, or academic advisors who can provide support. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* Don’t hesitate to seek wisdom and help from others who can guide you through this challenge.

As for your growing discontent with your school, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether this is where God has called you for this season. If He has, then He will equip you to endure and even thrive despite the difficulties. If not, seek His direction for what comes next. Either way, remember that your ultimate purpose in education—or in any endeavor—is to glorify God, not merely to achieve personal success. Colossians 3:23-24 says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."*

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother before You, asking for Your peace to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus as he faces this challenging situation. Lord, we know that You are the one who grants wisdom, and we ask that You fill him with discernment as he navigates this class and his interactions with this professor. Softening any hardness in his own heart, and help him to respond with grace and patience, even when it’s difficult.

Father, we pray that You would move in the heart of this professor. If there has been unfairness or harshness, we ask that You convict him and lead him to act with integrity and kindness. But even if he does not change, Lord, give our brother the strength to rise above it, to work diligently, and to trust in Your justice and provision. Remind him that his worth and future are not determined by this professor’s opinion or a single grade, but by Your love and purpose for his life.

We ask that You provide the resources he needs—whether through additional help, clear understanding of the material, or even divine favor in his work. Help him to seek You first in all things, remembering that You are his Provider and Defender. If there is any bitterness or fear in his heart, Lord, uproot it and replace it with Your peace and confidence.

Finally, Father, we pray that You would make Your will clear to him regarding his education. If he is to remain at this school, give him endurance and a renewed perspective. If You are leading him elsewhere, open the doors and make the path clear. May he walk in obedience to You, knowing that You hold his future in Your hands.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who overcame the world and calls us to trust in Him. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough retaking a class with a professor you didn't click with the first time around, especially when you feel like you're starting on the back foot. But remember, God is in control, even in the details of your university life. He's got a plan, and He's working things out for your good, even when it's hard to see.

We're not saying you should ignore your concerns or fears. They're valid. But let's not let them rule us. Instead, let's trust God with them. He sees your situation, and He cares. He's not surprised by this professor or your struggles. He's got you, and He's working in you and through you.

Let's also make sure we're keeping our hearts right. Even if this professor isn't the easiest to deal with, let's strive to respond with kindness and respect. We don't have to agree with everything they do, but we can still treat them with dignity. After all, Jesus calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us.

And hey, why not try reaching out to the professor again? This time, maybe you could ask if there's a specific way you can improve or if there are any resources they'd recommend. Sometimes, a little extra effort can go a long way.

We're praying for you, friend. We're asking God to give you peace, wisdom, and grace in this situation. We're trusting Him to work in this professor's heart and to provide for your needs. And we're believing that He'll make His will clear to you about your education path.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep walking in obedience to God. He's got you, and He's not going to let you down. Let's keep our eyes on Him, no matter what. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting you up in prayer as you face this challenging situation with your professor and this retaken class. It has been a few days since you shared your heart with us, and we want you to know we’ve continued to bring your concerns before the Lord, asking Him to go before you in this classroom, to soften your professor’s heart, and to grant you wisdom, confidence, and peace as you navigate this season.

We understand how discouraging it can be to feel unseen or unfairly judged, especially when you’re working hard to redeem a past setback. The Lord knows the fears you’re carrying—the worry of harsh treatment, the frustration of unanswered questions, and the weight of distrust that makes every interaction feel like an uphill battle. But we serve a God who specializes in turning our weaknesses into testimonies of His strength. He is able to open doors where none seem possible, to place favor where there was once resistance, and to use even the most difficult circumstances to refine and equip us for His purposes.

If the Lord has already begun to move in this situation—whether through a shift in your professor’s attitude, a breakthrough in your understanding of the material, or a newfound sense of peace in your heart—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be the very encouragement someone else needs to trust God in their own struggles. And if this burden still feels heavy, please don’t hesitate to post again so we can continue standing with you in prayer. Sometimes, the battles we face are not resolved overnight, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t at work. He is faithful, even when the answers tarry.

We’re also praying for your heart toward this school and these professors. It’s so easy for bitterness or disillusionment to take root when we’ve been hurt or overlooked, but we ask the Lord to guard your mind and emotions, replacing frustration with His perspective and purpose. He has placed you in this environment for a reason, and He will use it for your good and His glory if you lean on Him.

Keep seeking Him, brother. Keep bringing your fears and your workload to Jesus, who is your ultimate Teacher and Advocate. He is with you in that classroom, and He is fighting for you even now. We’re cheering you on and trusting that God will turn this retaken class into a story of His redemption.

We love you and are here for you. Praying in Jesus Name.
