We hear your cry for help and we come before the throne of grace together, seeking God’s mercy and wisdom in your situation. First, let us affirm that there is no problem too great or too small for our Heavenly Father. The Bible tells us, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). Whatever burden you carry, know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
If your struggle involves sin, whether it be fear, doubt, temptation, or something that does not align with God’s Word, we must address it with truth and love. Jesus said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15 WEB). If there is unconfessed sin in your life, now is the time to repent and turn back to God. He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). Do not let shame or guilt keep you from running to Him, for He longs to restore you.
If your problem involves relationships, we must remind you that God’s design for marriage is sacred, a covenant between one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6 WEB). If you are in a relationship that does not honor God, whether through premarital intimacy (fornication), adultery, or same-sex unions, we must rebuke this in the name of Jesus. The Bible is clear: "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If this applies to you, we urge you to seek godly counsel, repent, and pursue purity. If you are unmarried, we encourage you to seek a spouse who loves the Lord, rather than merely a "partner," for "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers." (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB).
If your struggle is with loneliness, despair, or feeling far from God, remember that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have never surrendered your life to Christ, we plead with you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9 WEB). Salvation is not found in religion, good works, or any other name, only in Jesus Christ.

We ask that You would draw near to them, comfort them, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). If there is sin in their life, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. If they are lost, we pray they would turn to Jesus and be saved. If they are weary, strengthen them with Your might (Isaiah 40:31 WEB). Father, we rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells them they are alone, unlovable, or beyond Your reach. You are the God who heals, restores, and redeems. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB).
Lord, if their struggle involves relationships, we pray for godly wisdom and discernment. Help them to walk in purity and honor You in all their interactions. If they are single, prepare them for the spouse You have for them, and let them seek You above all else. If they are married, strengthen their union and help them to love one another as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25 WEB). If they are in sin, break the chains of bondage and set them free by the power of Your Son’s blood.
We thank You, Father, that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28 WEB). Give them the courage to trust You, even when the path is unclear. The problem is known to Him who seeth in secret, and to bring it before the throne is the surest relief for a burdened heart. You need not reach for a Prayer Book to see how the bishops would have you pray, nor borrow some eminent Divine's Morning Devotions, but go straight to God and say, "O Lord, You know what I need!"
Let your prayer be humble, for a sense of unworthiness must never drive you away; a child should not run from its mother at night because it needs washing. Yet let it be argumentative, taking hold of the covenant angel as Jacob did. David once said, "Do as You have said." When a man has promised you something that you really need, you take him by the button-hole and say, "Now, you promised to give me that." Get the promise and then offer the prayer, reminding your heavenly Father of His Word, and the prayer will be answered as sure as God is God! Whatever good it is that you need, pardon of sin, help in trouble, comfort in distress, God has the ability and the inclination to give it to you.
But be prepared that the answer may not come in the way you expect. Mighty prayer will yet prevail if it has but time! Spurn the dark suggestion of the Evil One that whispers, "Forsake the closet!" Do not give up praying because you feel you cannot pray, but pray twice as much, for you need more prayer and must be more with God, not less. The surface prayer, a sort of sacred masquerading, will not avail. We have not, because we ask not, or because we ask amiss. Let there be no restraining of prayer, no preaching a little sermon to the Lord instead of asking at once for what you need. Search your heart, for sometimes failure in prayer may be caused by a sin harbored, and unholiness hinders prayer.
While the problem presses upon you, cast also an eye to intercessory prayer. When God gives any man much grace, it must be with the design that he may use it for the rest of the family. As you wait upon the Lord for your own deliverance, begin to plead for others, and you will knit your hearts together in love. Pray your Brothers and Sisters out of their troubles, and in so doing, you may find the shadow of your own coming blessing.
Lord, quicken this dear soul in Your way! When the spirit is broken and bruised, it can only rally through an infusion of fresh life. Remember Your Word unto Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope. Help him to believe that though he has come to be in need, the Father's house has bread enough and to spare. Answer this cry, we beseech Thee, for Jesus’ sake.

You ask for prayer, and you shall have it, but I must first ask you: have you prayed yourself? For if we are slumbering, the prayer of others will profit us nothing, but even with it we perish. It is a good thing to enjoy the prayer of the saints, but only when we ourselves are on the alert. Do not say, "What need have I of prayer?" That is the very reason you need it, because you think you have none. Even if you had become like Paul, you would need the prayers of the Church. Did not Peter receive the earnest prayer of the whole Church, yet he himself was watchful? God indeed works, but He requires our part also. We need both our own striving and His grace.
Therefore, do not only seek others to pray while you remain idle. The market-place of every day is a battle, full of rocks and storms. You need arms. Prayer is the greatest weapon, the impregnable wall, the unshaken tower. But if you go forth without making God propitious by your own early morning prayer and supplication, how will you escape shipwreck? I do not know the nature of your problem, but I know the diseases of the soul: envy, reviling, drunkenness, any unrepented sin, each one alone is enough to cast us out of the kingdom. And if such things dwell in you, what comfort will you have? We need much penitence, much endurance, much perseverance. Do not think that the prayers of others can rescue you from hell while you remain in your sins. Did not God say that if Noah, Daniel, and Job stood before Him, they could not deliver sons and daughters when wickedness prevailed? Yet when they themselves pleased God, their prayers were mighty.
Search your heart. Give alms, forgive your debtors, walk humbly, and then our prayers will ascend with power. For the Lord says, "I will defend this city for My servant David's sake", but David was righteous. So we pray for you, but stir up your own soul as well.
Now let us pray together: O Master, Who so loved us that Thou gavest eternal comfort and good hope through grace, look upon this Thy servant in his trouble. Stablish his heart in every good work and word. Grant him true repentance where it is needed, and the shield of faith to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. Whether the storm rages or the waves rise, keep him from being shaken or turned aside. For Thou art the God who givest comfort and who alone canst guide us through the tempest to the haven of Thy mercy. And this we ask not as those who are worthy, but trusting in Thine unspeakable lovingkindness, through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom and with whom, to Thee and the Holy Ghost, be glory for ever and ever. It’s not uncommon to feel that weight, when all you can say is “I have a problem.” You’ve done the right thing by reaching out for prayer. And I want you to know that your need is being lifted up before the Lord. But may I also encourage you toward something? The cry for help is itself a prayer, and God isn’t waiting for a polished speech. He knows the details already. Prayer isn’t about briefing heaven on your emergency. Your Father knows what you need before you ask. He’s not reluctant, needing to be worn down by your persistence. He loves you and is concerned with your ultimate good.
When trouble looms so large that you can’t see past it, remember where your help comes from. It doesn’t rise from the hills around you; it doesn’t originate in well-meaning people or clever solutions. The help of man is truly vain. Our help is in the name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. That’s not a small thought, it changes how you face the problem. The One you’re crying out to is the Creator, who never grows weary and never falls asleep. He is always available. Anytime you call, He is there.
So, as you pray, you don’t need to instruct Him on the outcome. You can say, “Lord, You know what I need. Please send what You know is best.” Why limit Him to a single dollar amount or a specific fix? He might want to provide far more than you can imagine, or work in a way you haven’t considered. The purpose of prayer is not to get your own will done, but to see God’s will accomplished in your life. That often starts by laying your heart bare and asking, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,” even in this confusing situation. It’s an expression of your weakness, your poverty of spirit, and that’s exactly where His strength finds its stage.

Many of the psalms that start with a frantic prayer finish with praise. I’m praying that as you bring this problem to the Lord, you’ll find His peace settling over your heart, and that even now, in the middle of it, you can begin to give thanks for His goodness. Because He hears, and He will help.

Many of the psalms that start with a frantic prayer finish with praise. I’m praying that as you bring this problem to the Lord, you’ll find His peace settling over your heart, and that even now, in the middle of it, you can begin to give thanks for His goodness. Because He hears, and He will help.
