We got the news that our unborn baby cannot be seen on an ultrasound at ### weeks. They think I have had a missed miscarriage. I go back ### for another scan. Please pray that this is a mistake, God would work a miracle, and there would be a healthy happy baby growing when we go back.

We have heard your heart cry and we stand with you in this agonizing time of waiting and uncertainty between scans, lifting you and your unborn child and your whole family before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name.

We know how precious this life is to you and to the Lord, for every child is fearfully and wonderfully made by His hand. As it is written, For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:13-14 and also Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you Jeremiah 1:5. This little one, seen or unseen on an ultrasound, is already known and loved by God, and we pray with you for His miraculous mercy and power to be displayed.

We join our faith with yours and ask the Lord for a miracle, that when you return for your next scan there would be a healthy, growing baby with a strong heartbeat, for with God all things are possible Matthew 19:26. We pray for the Lord's hand of protection over you and over this child, for peace over your womb, and for wisdom and clarity for the doctors and technicians who will perform the scan.

We also pray for your hearts as you wait, because this waiting is so heavy. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We ask God to surround you both with His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding and to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Whatever the outcome of that next scan, we know that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28, even when we cannot understand His ways.

We want to gently share with you that you asked for prayer to God, but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and assurance of our prayers being heard. Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved Romans 10:9. We pray this truth would be a comfort to you now, that you would know you can come boldly to God through Jesus, and that you have a living hope in Him no matter what you face.

We pray together now, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear mother and father and their precious unborn child to You. Lord, You are the Giver of life and the Author of every good gift. We ask, if it be Your will, for a miracle that would confound medical explanation, that this baby would be found alive and well and growing perfectly at the next ultrasound. Speak life over this child, Lord, and let Your power be made known. We pray for healing and strength for this mother, calm her fears and fill her with Your presence. Hold this couple in Your loving arms, give them rest in the waiting, and let them feel Your nearness every moment. And Father, whatever You in Your sovereign wisdom allow, help them to trust You, to grieve with hope, and to know that this child is eternally in Your care. Let Your will be done and let Your name be glorified. Comfort them with Your Holy Spirit and with the love of Your people around them. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to lean on each other and on your church family in these days, to rest as much as you can, and to keep bringing every fear and hope to the Lord in prayer. We are continuing to pray with you for that healthy, happy baby and for God's perfect peace to reign in your hearts as you wait.

We have been holding you in prayer since reading your request. To go in expecting to see your baby and instead hear that nothing could be seen, and then to be sent home to wait for another scan, is such a heavy and lonely place to be. It makes sense if you are moving between hope and fear and tears and numbness all in one day.

We are joining you in asking the Lord for mercy for you and for your baby, and we are asking Him to keep you close in these days of waiting, whatever the next scan shows. He sees you in this uncertainty and He is near to those who grieve.

In this in between time, if you can, bring someone you trust with you to that next appointment to listen and support you. It can help to write down questions for your care team beforehand and to stay in close contact with them with any concerns or changes. Please be gentle with yourself and let others help with daily things when possible. You do not have to carry this alone, and if you have family, friends or a pastor who can sit with you, let them know how you are doing.

Father, we lift this mother and her child to You. We ask for Your mercy and for life and health according to Your will. Cover her with Your peace as she waits, comfort her heart, steady her body, and give wisdom to the doctors caring for her. Let her know she is not alone and that You are with her. We have heard your burden and our hearts are heavy with you in this painful time of waiting between scans. To be told that your little one cannot be seen and to carry both love and fear until you return is a deep and tender sorrow, and we are lifting you and your child before the Lord with earnest prayer.

We are praying that the Lord, if it be His gracious will, would work a miracle and that when you return you would see a healthy, living baby growing. Nothing is too hard for Him. He is the God who formed that child in secret and who numbers our days, and the power to save and to heal lies wholly in Jesus Himself. He is grand in emergencies, and His eye is upon those who scarcely dare to hope and scarcely dare to pray. Even when all hope seems to be slain, we are taught still to pray, for with Him there is help and hope.

We pray also for you in this interval, that whether He grants the miracle we so desire or calls you through a valley of grief, you would know His nearness. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted. There is no hope for us in ourselves, but there is sure hope in Christ, who has loved us into faith and who carries us when we have no strength. May He give you peace that passes understanding, sustain you and your family, grant wisdom to those who care for you, and hold you fast in His love.

Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ. You see this mother and this child whom You have made. You know the longing of this heart. We ask You to have mercy and, according to Your perfect will, to let life be found and to grant this little one health and growth. We ask for Your comforting presence in these days of waiting, for calm in fear, for strength for each hour, and for Your will to be done with tender grace. Into Your hands we commit this mother, this father, and this precious life. Amen.

Please know you are not alone. We will continue to pray for you and for that next scan, and we invite you to let us know how you are and how we may continue to bear this burden with you before the Lord.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind.
