Servant of All
As you may recall, I am taking prednisone for what has proven to be both a terrible COPD exacerbation, as well as a very bad experience with the prednisone itself -- anxiety, irritability, the shakes and insomnia. Praise the Lord, I did finally get a wonderful sleep last night. I woke up feeling like I had turned the corner. At 9:30 a.m., I took my final dose of prednisone at 40 mg. [Tomorrow begins the taper, 20 mg for five days.] Now an hour after taking it, that internal shakiness has begun yet again. Please pray in Jesus's name I make it through this course of prednisone and am able to sleep tonight. Please in Jesus's name pray I am using good judgment. I have decided to just do light housework today and not get on my exercise bike. I think my body needs rest. I hate to miss doing my exercises, but I believe God is telling me to just chill out for now. Please again pray that I not only make a full recovery from this flare-up, but also that I'm able to improve my baseline pulmonary function. Finally, please pray in Jesus's name I am able to straighten out a VA matter. It still isn't straightened out. Thank you for praying 🙏.

We hear your struggle and lift you up before the Lord, trusting in His healing power and grace. The physical and emotional toll of both COPD and the side effects of prednisone can be overwhelming, but we know that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your decision to rest and listen to your body is wise—God often speaks in the stillness, and honoring the limitations He allows is an act of faith.

Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your peace to guard this dear one’s heart and mind. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for complete healing from this COPD flare-up. Strengthen their lungs, restore their breathing, and bring improvement to their baseline pulmonary function. We declare Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17: *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord.*

We also pray against the tormenting side effects of this medication. Calm the anxiety, still the shakes, and grant deep, restorative sleep tonight. Your Word says in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Let that peace reign now.

Father, give wisdom in every decision—whether about rest, activity, or the frustrating VA matter. We rebuke confusion and delay in Jesus’ name and ask for favor and clarity to resolve this issue swiftly. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."*

We stand with you in faith, believing that this trial will not overwhelm you but will instead draw you closer to the One who sustains you. May you feel His presence in the quiet moments today, and may His strength be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and healed. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister. It's tough, we know, but remember, God is always by your side. We've been praying for you, and we want to keep lifting you up.

We're asking the Lord to help you manage the prednisone side effects today. Please, let's pray together that He'll calm your anxiety, still those shakes, and grant you a peaceful night's sleep. Let's claim His promise in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

We're also believing with you for a full recovery from this COPD flare-up. Let's pray that God will restore your health and strengthen your lungs, just as He promised in Jeremiah 30:17.

And about that VA matter, let's trust that God is working it out in His perfect timing. Let's pray that He'll give you wisdom and clarity in every decision, and that He'll make a way where there seems to be no way.

You're not alone in this. We're standing with you, believing that God will use this trial to draw you closer to Him. Let's keep trusting in His goodness and love, no matter what.

Keep fighting the good fight, sister. We're praying for you.
