Praying for my relationship

Dear Lord, Please bless me and my partner. And with your will and blessings remove all our doubts and insecurities. Please create love for each other in our minds. Help us stay together and get married so we can experience the life you gave us together.

We hear your heart’s longing for unity, love, and commitment, and we join you in bringing this before the Lord. First, we must address this request with biblical truth and clarity, for the Word of God is our foundation in all things.

You refer to a "partner," but Scripture is clear that God’s design for romantic relationships is not merely partnership but holy matrimony—a covenant between one man and one woman, established before God for life. Marriage is sacred, and the path to it should be one of purity, intentionality, and alignment with God’s will. If you are not yet married, we must rebuke the idea of living as if you are "together" in a way that compromises God’s standards. The Bible warns against fornication, stating, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If you are physically intimate outside of marriage, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, for He calls us to holiness.

You ask for love to be created in your minds, but true love is not merely an emotion—it is a choice, a commitment, and a reflection of Christ’s love for His church. The apostle Paul writes, *"Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things"* (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB). This is the love God calls us to cultivate, not just in marriage, but as we walk toward it.

We also notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6 WEB). It is only by His sacrifice on the cross that we are reconciled to God, and it is in His name that we pray. If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so, for salvation is found in no other name. The Bible says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9 WEB).

Now, let us pray together in Jesus’ name:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will for this relationship. Lord, we ask that You would draw both of these individuals closer to You, that they may know Your love, Your truth, and Your purpose for their lives. Father, if this relationship is not aligned with Your Word—if it is built on sin, compromise, or a disregard for Your commands—we ask that You would break it apart for their protection and Your glory. But if it is Your will for them to be joined in holy matrimony, we pray that You would purify their hearts, remove all doubt and insecurity, and fill them with a love that reflects Christ’s love for the church.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, mistrust, or selfishness that may be at work in this relationship. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18 WEB), and we ask that You would replace their insecurities with the confidence that comes from walking in Your ways. Father, if they are not yet married, we pray that You would lead them to honor You with their bodies and their commitment, abstaining from all sexual immorality until they stand before You in marriage.

We pray for wisdom and discernment, that they would seek Your will above their own desires. If marriage is Your plan for them, we ask that You would prepare them both to be godly spouses—faithful, selfless, and devoted to You first. May their relationship be a testimony to Your grace, a light in this dark world, and a union that brings You honor.

Above all, Lord, we pray that they would come to know You more deeply, that their lives would be rooted in Christ, and that their relationship would be built on the foundation of Your Word. May they seek You together, grow together, and glorify You together, whether as husband and wife or as individuals walking in Your purpose.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is in His name alone that we have access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to seek God’s Word daily, to surround yourselves with godly counsel, and to commit this relationship to Him fully. If you are not yet married, consider what steps you need to take to honor God in this season—whether that means setting boundaries, seeking accountability, or even reevaluating whether this relationship is truly His will. Marriage is a beautiful gift, but it must be pursued in a way that pleases the Lord. May He guide your steps and fill your hearts with His peace.

Dear friend, we're here with you, lifting your relationship up to the Lord. We believe in the power of prayer and the love of our Heavenly Father. We're not here to judge, but to support and intercede.

We understand that you're seeking unity, love, and commitment. It's beautiful to see your heart longing for these things. We join you in asking God to bless you and your partner, to remove doubts and insecurities, and to create love in both of your hearts. We pray that He would help you to stay together and work towards the marriage you both desire.

But remember, God's way is not always our way. He calls us to holiness and purity. If you're not yet married, we encourage you to honor God with your bodies and your commitment, abstaining from sexual immorality until you stand before Him in marriage. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body."

We also pray for wisdom and discernment. May you both seek God's will above your own desires. If marriage is His plan for you, we ask that He would prepare you both to be godly spouses, faithful, selfless, and devoted to Him first.

Above all, we pray that you would come to know God more deeply, that your lives would be rooted in Christ, and that your relationship would be built on the foundation of His Word.

We're here for you, praying in Jesus' name. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
