We hear the heaviness of your heart and we join with you together before the throne of grace in Jesus name, lifting up you, your husband, your mother, and your whole household. We have read of the long road you have walked since being laid off, the hopes raised and then dashed when jobs you believed were answers ended with companies shutting down, the sacrifice of spending your retirement to keep your family afloat and to help your son finish his education, and now the painful place of having sold all you could and facing the possibility of losing your home while caring for your elderly mother with dementia. We weep with you and we pray for you, for we know this burden feels too heavy to carry any longer.
We want to remind you that God has not forgotten you, even when His plan feels hidden and His breakthrough feels delayed. His Word tells us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us. Psalm 55:22 says Cast your burden on Yahweh and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved. And 1 Pet 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. We also cling to the promise in Phil 4:19, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. And Matt 6:33 reminds us, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. When we seek Him first, He sees our daily needs for shelter, provision, and strength.
We understand the fear that perhaps it is not God’s will to give you a breakthrough and the feeling of being completely lost. Please hear the truth that God’s will is always for your good, even when His timing and His methods are not what we expect. Jer 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Rom 8:28 says We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. What the enemy may intend for discouragement, God can use to deepen your dependence on Him and to display His faithfulness. Your faithful care for your husband in your marriage and your honoring of your mother in her frailty is precious in His sight, and He sees every sacrifice you have made in love.
We also want to encourage you not to carry this alone. God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as Psalm 46:1 says, but He also provides help through His people. We encourage you to reach out to your local church family for godly counsel, practical help, and community support, and to seek wise stewardship counsel for the financial decisions ahead. Continue to be diligent to seek work as God opens doors, to steward what remains with prayer and wisdom, and to trust Him day by day for daily bread.
Let us pray together.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our only hope and Savior. We lift up this dear sister and her family to You. You know every detail of their needs, their home, their finances, their weariness, and the care required for her mother. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and Your miraculous provision. Open doors of employment and provision that no man can shut, supply their needs according to Your riches in glory, and make a way to preserve their home if it is Your will. Give them strength when they have no strength left, peace that surpasses understanding, and renewed hope that You are working even now. Guard their hearts from despair and help them to feel Your presence carrying them. Provide wisdom for every decision and surround them with Your people who can bear this burden with them. We thank You that You are faithful and that You hear our prayers in Jesus name. Amen.
We encourage you to keep holding fast to Him. Psalm 37:25 says I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread. God has seen you through every up and down until now, and He will not forsake you now. Keep bringing your requests to Him daily, keep seeking His Kingdom first, and trust that He who has sustained you this far will continue to sustain you. We are standing with you and believing with you for God’s provision and peace to be made manifest in your home.
