Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and asking for prayer for you and your son. It is right to bring your need for protection, guidance, wisdom and strength directly to the Lord, and we have prayed for you both.
The Scripture says no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and that promise rests on who God is as your defender. Some people trust in what they can see or control for security, but our trust is in the name of the Lord our God. He hears from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand. He is your strength and your shield. When your heart trusts in Him, He helps you and gives you reason to rejoice. Even when others intend evil or imagine hurtful plans against you, they are not able to carry them out beyond what God allows, and He is able to keep you and your son under His care. We ask Him to cover you both, to keep you from harm from any direction, whether from neighbors, coworkers, family or others in authority, and to let His presence be your refuge.
You also asked for guidance, wisdom and strength, and that is the most important thing to seek. Scripture teaches that wisdom is the principal thing, and with all your getting, get understanding. Wisdom is not hidden. Like a voice calling openly in the streets, God makes His wisdom available to all who will listen. That wisdom is ultimately found in Jesus Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. When you love wisdom and treat her as a close companion, she will preserve you and keep you. She will help you to look straight ahead, to ponder the path of your feet, to establish your ways and to turn your foot away from evil.
There are two kinds of wisdom. One is earthly, driven by envy and strife, and it leads to confusion and every evil work. The other is from above. The wisdom that comes from God is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to listen, full of mercy and good fruit. You can tell the difference by what it produces in a life. If you lack wisdom, God invites you to ask Him, and He gives generously to those who seek Him early and sincerely. We pray that He will pour out His Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon you and your son, that you will know His instruction and walk in His counsel. Through wisdom a house is built, and raising a child requires that wisdom, understanding and knowledge day by day. May He give you clear direction for each decision and peace in following it.
For strength, remember that God does not promise a life without adversity, but He does promise to be your strength in it. If your strength is only from within yourself, there will be a day when it is not enough and you will faint. But if your trust is in the Lord, His strength will not fail you. He will uphold you in the day of trouble so you can stand.
We pray now that the Lord will bless and keep you and your son, that He will be your shield and your strength, that no weapon formed against you will succeed, and that He will fill you both with wisdom from above, with guidance for every step and with His peace that passes understanding as you trust in Jesus.
