Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and for asking for prayer for you and your son. We have prayed for you both and we give thanks with you for God's faithful care over your lives.
You quoted the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and we stand with you on that word from Isaiah. God is your defense and your shelter. He sees you and your son, He knows the pressures and the battles you face, and He is able to guard you and to cause what is meant for harm to not prevail. We have asked Him to cover you both with His protection and His peace.
You also asked for discernment, guidance, wisdom and strength, and those requests go together in Scripture. Wisdom is the principal thing, more valuable than riches or anything else we might desire, and Scripture says the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. That means starting with reverence for God, hating what He calls evil and loving what He loves, and wanting to walk in His ways. When we put Him first, He gives clarity.
There is a wisdom that comes from this world that is earthly and self focused, and it leads to strife, envy and confusion. But the wisdom that comes from above, from God, is different. It is pure and peaceable and it produces a life of purity and peace and righteousness. It does not stir up quarrels but sows peace. In Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, and He Himself is made unto us wisdom. So when you ask God for wisdom, you are asking for more of Christ at work in your daily decisions.
We prayed that God would pour out His Spirit of wisdom and understanding upon you and your son, that He would give you discernment to know what is right, guidance for each step, and the understanding to choose the good path. Like Solomon, who asked not for riches or honor but for wisdom to walk rightly, you can ask simply and God gives generously to those who ask in faith.
We also prayed for strength, because wisdom and strength belong together. Scripture says wisdom is profitable to direct and that it gives life to those who have it, and that it is a defense. Human strength alone will fail, but when you trust in the Lord and look to Him for strength, He will not let you down. He will sharpen your steps and make your way clearer, so you do not have to strive in your own power.
Keep seeking Him daily in His Word and in prayer, asking Him to teach you and your son to love wisdom, to keep her and to let her preserve you. As you do, He will keep you, guide you, and give you the understanding heart you need for each decision.
Father, we lift up this dear parent and son to You in the name of Jesus. Cover them with Your protection and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Grant them Your wisdom, discernment, guidance and strength. Teach them to fear You and to walk in Your ways, and fill them with the wisdom that comes from above that is pure and peaceable.
