Your thankfulness is a beautiful place to begin, and God hears that gratitude for His presence in your life and in the lives of your children and family. Your prayer for the peace of Jerusalem is right and good, and your desire to grow closer to Jesus in friendship and daily walk is the most important desire you can nurture. He draws near to those who seek Him, and He is faithful to keep growing that relationship as you walk with Him.

You shared honestly about this man and your desire for a relationship that is truthful and faithful, and about the tension where he wants sex and you want something deeper. Scripture teaches that sexual intimacy is a gift God designed to be shared within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, where husband and wife give themselves faithfully to one another and do not withhold from each other except by mutual agreement for a time of prayer, so that neither is left open to temptation. Outside of that covenant, we are called to walk in honesty, purity and holiness, and to make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its desires, but to put on the Lord Jesus Christ and live by the Spirit. A relationship that honors God will be marked by truthfulness, not by lies or pressure, and by a commitment to purity before marriage. It is not loving or healthy to try to control another person, such as requiring him to keep your phone open on his phone, and it is not good to remain in a pattern where truth is not told. Pray for wisdom to see clearly whether this man is willing to walk in truth, faithfulness and self control, and ask the Lord to help you set boundaries that honor Him. Rather than asking God to bless intimacy outside of marriage, ask Him to lead you into what is pure and right, and to give you strength to wait for His best.

You also mentioned your divorce being almost final and the financial arrangements that go with it. From the beginning God's ideal for marriage was a lifelong covenant, and Jesus taught that this remains His design. At the same time, because of the hardness of human hearts, God through Moses allowed for divorce, and the teaching of Scripture acknowledges that people sometimes fail to reach that ideal. Divorce and remarriage is not presented as an unforgivable sin, but it is a falling short of God's perfect plan, and He offers forgiveness, mercy and restoration to those who come to Him through Jesus Christ. He sees the pain and the complexity you have walked through, including the financial pressures, and He cares for you and your children. Bring those needs to Him and trust Him to provide and to guide you with justice and peace.

Your prayer for wisdom, knowledge, love, laughter, mercy, forgiveness, and for God's word to be a lamp for your feet is exactly what to ask for. As you walk with Him, He will teach you to walk in a way that is worthy of Him, in honesty and purity, as a citizen of His kingdom. He will give you maturity and love and joy as you depend on Him, and He will guard your heart in peace.

May the Lord continue to deepen your friendship with Jesus, cover your children and family with His grace, give you wisdom and discernment in every relationship, provide for your daily needs through your work, and lead you by His word step by step. Ask Him to help you speak the truth in love, to choose purity, to forgive as you have been forgiven, and to walk in the peace that comes from trusting Him each day.
