Beloved Servant
God, Thank you for this day. God, Thank you for the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit in my life, my sons and daughters life, my children’s life and my brothers and sisters life, always. God, Thank you. God, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem always. Jesus, I pray for mine and your friendship and relationship, that we keep growing closer together. Jesus, ### had better tell me the truth when I ask him questions from now on and and just talk to him in general, if he knows what’s good for him I highly suggest he keeps my phone open on his phone, and I pray I can keep me on the phone with ###. Jesus, ### wants sex and I want more than sex from ###, I would like to be in a relationship with ###, if he can tell the truth, and be faithful to me. God, I prayed for myself and my children, just as I pray for others. God, I start my second job next Wednesday. God, I pray no matter what for me to tell the truth that I know, and for me to walk around with my maturity, laughter, love, and I can do what I do. Jesus, I’m sorry, I don’t deal with liars, ###’s had plenty of chances to tell the truth to me, when I ask, and I still love you. God, I pray for wisdom, knowledge, love, laughter, mercy, forgiveness, a lamp for my feet and to walk in peace all of my days. God, Thank you! God, My divorce is almost final, when I sign the divorce papers, ### is suppose to have my money for everything, he is buying me out, and making monthly payments til he’s laid everything. God, I pray for all everywhere. God, I pray, in the name of Jesus! Amen

We join you in thanking God for this day and for His presence as Father, Son and Holy Spirit in your life and in the lives of your sons and daughters and your brothers and sisters. We rejoice that you are cultivating friendship with Jesus, for He calls those who follow Him friends and He draws near when we draw near to Him. As you prayed for the peace of Jerusalem we agree with you, remembering Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper. We also thank you for closing your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.

We want to speak with love and truth about the relationship you mentioned with this man. You shared that he wants sex and you want more than sex, that you would like to be in a relationship with him if he can tell the truth and be faithful to you, and you also shared strong words about what he had better do and keeping your phone open on his phone. We hear your desire for honesty and faithfulness and that is good, for the Lord delights in truth. Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight, and Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another. We also hear your longing for more than just physical intimacy and we affirm that longing, because God designed sexual intimacy to be holy and to belong only within marriage between a man and a woman. Hebrews 13:4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. If this man is pressuring you for sex outside of marriage, that is fornication and not love, for love is patient and kind and does not seek its own way as described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. A godly courtship should be a season of getting to know one another with the clear goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not simply a boyfriend and girlfriend arrangement centered on physical desire. We encourage you to seek a godly marriage that honors God, and to be equally yoked as taught in 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Is this man a believer who is pursuing Christ and pursuing marriage with you in a way that honors God.

We also gently urge you to examine the posture of your own heart in this. Words like if he knows what is good for him and demanding that he keep your phone open suggest a spirit of control and threat rather than grace and trust. Love does not control or coerce. Even when we have been hurt by lies we are called to speak truth without manipulation and to extend forgiveness as God has forgiven us. Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, and Colossians 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other. We know you said you do not deal with liars and that he has had many chances, and it is right to set wise boundaries and not to enable dishonesty, but we encourage you to do so with maturity and peace rather than with demands. True maturity bears the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in Galatians 5:22-23.

We also want to address with care that you shared your divorce is almost final but not yet signed. Until those papers are signed you are still married in the eyes of God, for Jesus said in Matthew 19:6 So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, do not let man tear apart. We encourage you not to pursue a new romantic relationship until your marriage covenant has been legally and biblically concluded and you have had time to heal and seek the Lord's direction for a future godly marriage. To pursue romance while still married can be adultery, and we want you to walk in purity and in a way that is above reproach.

We thank God with you for your children and we join you in praying for them and for all your loved ones. We also rejoice with you as you prepare to start your second job next Wednesday and we pray for strength and diligence and integrity in that work. We pray for wisdom and knowledge and for the Lord to be a lamp to your feet as you desire. Psalm 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path, and James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. We pray too for the financial settlement you mentioned, that your husband who is buying you out would act honestly and fulfill what is agreed with monthly payments, and that God would provide for you and guard your heart from anxiety.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we thank You for this sister and for her thankful heart and for her love for her children and family. We thank You for her desire to walk in truth, maturity, laughter, love, mercy and forgiveness and to walk in peace all her days. Lord, draw her ever closer in friendship with Jesus, help her to abide in You and to hear Your voice. Grant her wisdom and discernment about this man and about every relationship, help her to flee fornication and to honor You with her body and spirit which are Yours. If it is Your will for her to be married again, we pray You would bring a godly man who is a faithful believer, who speaks truth, who honors marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and who will pursue her in purity with marriage as the goal. If this current man is not that man, give her courage to step away and to wait on You. Heal the wounds of dishonesty, teach her to speak truth in love and to forgive as You have forgiven, and free her from any spirit of control or fear. Lord, bring peace to Jerusalem as she has prayed, bless her children and keep them in Your care, bless the work of her hands in her new job, provide for her needs and let her settlement be handled with honesty and justice. Lead her by Your Word as a lamp to her feet, fill her with Your peace and joy, and help her to walk in maturity and holiness all her days. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

We hear so much thankfulness in your prayer, and also how much you are carrying right now. A divorce becoming final, a financial buyout with monthly payments ahead, starting a second job next Wednesday, caring for your children and family, and trying to discern what is true and faithful in a new connection with ###. That is a lot of change at once.

We are grateful for your desire to walk in maturity, truth, laughter and love, and to keep growing closer to Jesus as your friend. In a season like this, when a marriage is ending, it is normal to feel grief and relief and uncertainty all together. Healing often takes time and involves learning to live single again, sorting through hurt and forgiveness, and rediscovering who you are and what you want for the next chapter before making big decisions about a new relationship.

One practical step that may help this week is to give yourself some steady footing for the transitions. For the buyout, keep a simple written record of the agreement and payment dates and keep copies in one place, and if anything is unclear ask your attorney or a trusted legal aid resource to review it with you. For the new job and for the relationship with ###, notice how truth and faithfulness show up in actions over time, and give yourself permission not to rush into defining a new commitment while you are still closing this divorce.

We are praying for you and your children in this in-between time.

Father, thank You for this sister and her family. We ask for Your peace over her home, wisdom and steadiness as she starts her new job, and provision and clarity around the divorce finances. Give her discernment, protection and calm as she seeks truth and faithfulness, and draw her closer to Jesus each day. In Jesus name, amen.

Your prayer has been heard and there is much in it for which to give thanks, that you begin with thanksgiving for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, that you remember your sons and daughters and your brothers and sisters, that you pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and that you desire to walk closer with Jesus. These are good things and we thank God for them with you.

You express also a deep desire for truth and faithfulness in your dealing with another. Hear what the Word says, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. With Him there is no affinity for untruth, for He is holy and He cannot lie. A main point in conversion consists in a man being honest before God, for it is the honest and good ground which receives the seed. If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. This is true first concerning ourselves. Before we ask truth of others we are called to walk in truth before the Lord, to confess our own sin plainly and to trust His mercy which is faithful and sure. There is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother, and that Friend is Christ Jesus. He is the faithful and true witness, and He will not fail those who trust Him. You do well to desire that your friendship and relationship with Jesus should grow closer, for His mercy endureth ever faithful, ever sure.

Concerning your desire for ###, we must speak plainly in love. You say he wants sex and you want more than sex, you would like to be in a relationship with him if he can be faithful. The Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the gift of physical union belongs within that covenant alone. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Purity indicates separation unto God. To seek intimacy outside of marriage, even with desire for faithfulness, is not the way of holiness and we cannot ask God to bless what He has not ordained for good. Instead we pray that the Lord would keep you in purity, that He would guard your heart and body, that He would teach you to love not with coercion or control, keeping a phone open by demand, but with patience, truth and honour. Fidelity is an absolute necessary in a true friend, and it is required in stewards that a man be found faithful. Pray rather that if it be the Lord's will for you to know this man, it would be in the way of open truth, chastity and a covenant before God, and if not, that the Lord would give you peace to walk apart from him in wholeness.

You also speak of your divorce being almost final and of provision through a buyout and monthly payments, and of beginning a second job. We pray that the Lord who sees all dealings will grant honesty and justice on both sides, that what is owed will be rendered faithfully, and that He will give you strength for your labour, wisdom for your steps, and grace to walk with maturity, love and holy laughter. You ask for wisdom, knowledge, mercy, forgiveness and a lamp unto your feet. God delights to give these things to those who ask Him in truth. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. When Jesus heals He also pardons, and pardon and healing are one in His hand.

Let us pray for you.

O Lord our God who art light, we thank Thee for this soul who desires to thank Thee and to walk nearer to Christ. Grant a deeper friendship with Jesus, the faithful Friend who sticketh closer than a brother. Give honesty of heart, that confession may be made freely and forgiveness received fully, for Thou art faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse. Grant purity, keep this life unspotted from the world, and let charity and holiness go together. If it be Thy will, lead in the matter of this relationship according to Thy Word, in truth, chastity and covenant faithfulness, and if not, grant contentment and healing. Provide for this family, for the children and for all who are named before Thee. Give wisdom and strength for daily work, for the second labour now undertaken, and for the settling of all financial matters with uprightness. Be a lamp unto the feet and light unto the path, grant peace for Jerusalem and peace for this heart, and cause the healing leaves of Christ to restore and make whole. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ who came into the world to save sinners. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I thank God with you for your thankfulness and for your desire to give thanks for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in your life and in the lives of your sons and daughters and your brothers and sisters. It is good that you begin with gratitude, and that you pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and that you long for a closer friendship and relationship with Jesus. May the Lord who is our peace draw you nearer to himself each day, and keep your feet walking in his light.

I join you in asking God for wisdom, knowledge, mercy, forgiveness and love, that he would be a lamp to your feet and that you would walk in peace all your days. I pray also for your children, that God would guard them and keep them in his grace, and for your second job beginning next Wednesday, that God would give you strength, diligence and a quiet and peaceable life lived in all godliness and honesty. Such a life is not only about right belief but about a life that shows that belief in how we speak and act.

You have asked for truth in your dealings with others, and that is right and pleasing to God. He desires truth in our inward being, and he calls us to speak truth to one another and to hate falsehood. I pray that God will make you a person who always tells the truth as you know it, and that he will teach you to love truth so much that you will not accept lying from others nor practice it yourself. If this man has not spoken truthfully to you, pray for him, but do not bind yourself to one who will not walk in honesty. A relationship that is to be good must be built on truth and faithfulness, not on deception.

You have also shared that this man wants sex while you want more than sex, you want a faithful relationship. I hear your longing to be loved faithfully and not used. Hear what Scripture teaches, that we are to make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts. Sex is a good gift from God, but he has placed it within the covenant of marriage, a lifelong union of one man and one woman. Outside of that covenant it does not bring the love and security you desire, but kindles a fire that harms the soul and wounds the heart. Luxury and indulgence are fuel for such desires, while a sober and healthy care for the body, seeking to be well for service to God rather than to stir up desire, keeps the soul clear. I pray that God will give you grace to prune away what would lead you into wantonness, to keep your body in health and your heart in purity, and to seek first the care of spiritual things. If you are to know this man at all, let it be only in holiness, with clear boundaries, with truthfulness and with faithfulness, and only toward that holy covenant if it be God's will. Do not give yourself to one who will not commit himself to you before God in marriage, and do not ask God to bless what he has called us to keep pure. Instead ask him to lead you into chastity, self control and a love that is patient and honorable. The way of virtue is narrow and often involves sorrow and trial, but God uses those trials to make us strong and to keep us from dreams that vanish when we awake.

You mention your divorce is almost final and that there are financial arrangements to be settled with monthly payments. I pray that God will provide for you and your children, that all money matters will be handled honestly and without covetousness, and that you will be kept from both greed and anxiety. Remember that the love of money, like sexual desire, is a strong lust that can lead us away from God. Pray to be content with what is honest and just, and to trust God rather than riches.

I pray for you now that God would forgive what needs forgiveness, heal what is wounded, and grant you maturity, wholesome laughter and love that comes from a clean conscience. May you grow in friendship with Jesus, who alone is our salvation, for there is no other name by which we are saved. May he teach you to walk in his ways, to hate what is false and to love what is pure, to be godly not only in what you believe but in how you live.

May the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ keep you, guide your work, guard your children, and lead you into all that is good and pleasing to him. Amen.
