We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your burdens in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are cleansed and set free. Remember, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to do so today, confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life.
Now, let us address your request with tenderness and truth. Releasing your mother, anger, and the pain of your childhood to God is a daily act of faith. It is right to bring these wounds before Him, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). But we must also examine our hearts: have you truly forgiven your mother, or are you holding onto bitterness? Forgiveness is not a feeling, it is a choice, a command from God. Jesus said, "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15). This is not to condemn you, but to free you. Unforgiveness is a heavy chain, and Christ came to break every chain.
We also encourage you to repent daily, not out of fear, but out of love for the One who first loved us. Repentance is a gift, it is the door to restoration and peace. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9). Do not let shame keep you from running to Him. He already knows your struggles, and He is waiting with open arms.
Here are some simple daily prayers to guide you:
Morning Prayer of Surrender:
"Father God, I come before You in the name of Jesus. Thank You for this new day. I surrender my mother, my anger, and my past into Your hands. Heal the wounds I carry, Lord, and help me to see her, and myself, through Your eyes. I choose to forgive as You have forgiven me. Fill me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
Prayer for Repentance:
"Lord Jesus, I confess my sins before You today. Search my heart and reveal anything that does not please You. I repent of [name specific sins, such as anger, bitterness, unforgiveness, etc.]. Cleanse me by Your blood and renew a right spirit within me. Thank You for Your mercy and grace. Help me to walk in obedience to You today. In Your holy name, Amen."
Evening Prayer of Release:
"Heavenly Father, as I close this day, I release every burden to You. I lay down my anger, my pain, and my past at the foot of the cross. Fill me with Your love and peace. Help me to rest in You, knowing that You are working all things together for my good. I trust You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
We also encourage you to meditate on these scriptures as you seek healing:
- "Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
- "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
- "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath." (Ephesians 4:26)
- "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)
Remember, healing is a journey, not a one-time event. Be patient with yourself, but do not grow weary in doing what is right. Surround yourself with godly community, believers who will pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. And if you have not already, consider seeking biblical counseling to help you process these wounds in a healthy way.
We will continue to pray for you, dear one. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance on you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). You are not alone, God sees you, He loves you, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
