Would you be able to send me some simple prayers so that I can repent everyday. Also some prayers so that I can release my mother anger childhood and unforgiveness to the Lord. Thankyou

We hear your heart’s cry for daily repentance and healing from past wounds, and we stand with you before the throne of grace in Jesus’ name. It is beautiful that you desire to walk in humility and release the burdens of anger and unforgiveness, these are heavy weights that the Lord does not intend for you to carry alone. Let us first address the foundation of your request: true repentance and forgiveness are only possible through the power of Jesus Christ, who bore our sins and sorrows on the cross. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9 WEB). Salvation is the starting point for all true transformation.

For daily repentance, we encourage you to begin each day with a posture of humility, inviting the Holy Spirit to search your heart. Here is a simple prayer you can pray:

"Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus, acknowledging that I am a sinner in need of Your mercy. Search my heart, O God, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way (Psalm 139:23-24). I repent of my sins, those I am aware of and those hidden from me. Wash me clean by the blood of Jesus, and create in me a pure heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me (Psalm 51:10). Help me to walk in Your ways today, and when I stumble, remind me to turn back to You quickly. Thank You for Your forgiveness and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

Repentance is not just about feeling sorry for sin; it is a turning away from it and toward God. The apostle John reminds us, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). This is a daily process, not a one-time event, for we are all works in progress. Do not grow weary in seeking the Lord’s face, He delights in your pursuit of Him.

Now, regarding the anger, pain, and unforgiveness tied to your mother and childhood, we must address this with both truth and tenderness. The Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven, for "if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). Unforgiveness is a prison that only harms the one who holds the key, and the Lord desires to set you free. However, forgiveness does not mean excusing sin or pretending the hurt did not happen. It means releasing the debt to God and trusting Him to be the just Judge.

Here is a prayer to help you release these burdens to the Lord:

"Father God, I come to You in the name of Jesus, carrying the weight of anger, pain, and unforgiveness from my past, especially the wounds tied to my mother. Lord, You see every hurt, every word spoken in anger, every moment that left a scar on my heart. I choose today to release these burdens to You. I forgive my mother for the ways she has wronged me, just as You have forgiven me for my sins. I ask You to heal the broken places in my heart and replace bitterness with Your peace. Help me to see her through Your eyes, Lord, and to extend the same grace You have given me. I surrender my right to hold onto this pain, and I trust You to bring justice and restoration in Your perfect timing. Fill me with Your love, so that I may walk in freedom. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

This is not a one-time prayer but a daily choice to surrender these feelings to God. You may need to pray this repeatedly, and that is okay. The Lord is patient and will meet you in your struggle. We also encourage you to seek godly counsel or a trusted Christian mentor to walk with you through this process, for healing often happens in community. The enemy would love for you to isolate yourself in your pain, but the Lord calls us to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

In addition to prayer, consider writing a letter to your mother, one you may or may not send, expressing your feelings honestly before the Lord. This can be a powerful way to process your emotions and release them to God. If your mother is open to it, you might also seek reconciliation, but do so with wisdom and discernment, and only when you are ready. Reconciliation is not always possible or safe, but forgiveness is always within your power through Christ.

We also want to gently address the root of anger and unforgiveness. Often, these emotions stem from unmet expectations or deep-seated lies we have believed about ourselves or God. Ask the Lord to reveal any lies you have believed, for example, "I am unlovable," "God doesn’t care about my pain," or "I must earn love." Replace these lies with the truth of God’s Word. For instance, "The Lord appeared of old to me, saying, 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you'" (Jeremiah 31:3 WEB). You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and no earthly pain can change that.

Finally, we encourage you to meditate on Scripture that speaks to God’s healing and restoration. Here are a few passages to reflect on:
- "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3 WEB).
- "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 WEB).
- "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB).

We pray that as you draw near to the Lord, He will draw near to you and bring the healing and freedom you seek. You are not alone in this journey, we stand with you in prayer, and more importantly, the Holy Spirit is your Comforter and Guide. May the Lord bless you with His peace as you walk in repentance and forgiveness, and may He restore what has been broken in your life. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Thank you for sharing this, it takes real courage to name those childhood hurts and want change. We’d love to send you a couple of simple prayers, and we’ll be praying alongside you.

Here’s one for daily repentance. You might use it before bed or first thing in the morning, just pausing in the quiet:

Lord Jesus, I come to you as I am. Forgive me for my failures today, for words, thoughts, or actions that pulled away from you. Wash me clean and help me turn my heart around. Thank you that your mercy is new every morning. I receive your forgiveness now. Amen.

And here’s one for releasing the anger and unforgiveness toward your mother. You can pray it each day, even when the feelings haven’t caught up yet, that’s very normal:

Father, I bring you the pain and anger I’ve carried since childhood. I name the hurt my mother caused me, and I release her into your hands. Right now I choose to forgive her, not because it was okay, but because I need to be free. Heal the deep places in my heart, remove the bitterness, and replace it with your peace. I trust you with my story. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We want to offer a small insight that’s helped many: forgiveness often starts as a decision before it becomes a settled feeling. The resentment and anger can keep surfacing for a while, and that doesn’t mean you’re failing, it means you’re in a process. Each time you pray that prayer, you’re handing the weight back to God. Over time, the emotional grip does loosen. Be patient with yourself.

Father, thank you that you see every hidden wound from the past. Strengthen our friend each day to walk in forgiveness and daily repentance, not as a heavy task but as a path to freedom. Quiet the inner turmoil and let your healing settle deep. In the strong name of Jesus, Amen.

We are happy to hear that you are yearning for prayers on repentance, as it is a very important thing for us as believers to do. Repentance is freedom. It's a way we can cast our anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:7).

Prayers of repentance that you can pray:
• Lord, forgive me for I didn't know what I was doing (you could even direct this prayer for you to forgive someone else)
• Heavenly Father, I have sinned against You, in thought & word & deed, & I am deeply sorry
• Merciful God, I confess my sins & ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness & help me to turn away from sin

The book of Ecclesiastes teaches you the life of repentance throughout your life journey on earth, so it could be a good idea to read that book of the Bible while you're in this season. It's one of the 5 books of poetry in the Bible (Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, & Song of Solomon/Song of songs). The book of Job teaches you perseverance during difficult times. The book of psalms teaches you praising God at all times. The book of Proverbs teaches you wisdom applied on earth. Then Ecclesiastes of course teaches you about repentance. The book of Song of Solomon teaches you on how to enter a relationship with Christ, the Heavenly groom, based on divine love.

Repentance is to turn away from your sin & to change, instead of willingly practicing it. And of course, there may be times where you may fall into temptation, but it's about your heart posture. When you fall into temptation, are you truly sorry & willing to repent? Or, are you not sorry & not willing to repent?

Remember, there's a different between guilt & shame. Guilt brings you before God in repentance, but shame brings you away from God & away from repentance.

It's never too late to repent. Repentance doesn't have a limit

The thing we get backwards about repentance is we think, "oh, I've been doing this. I've gotta stop doing that" & we focus on the action. The word "repent" actually means the Greek word metanoia, to change in your thinking, aka heart posture. What the word "repent" is saying to you is think differently & then instead of focusing on the outward actions, you could become pharasetical with that. Think differently & then let Your actions reflect your new way of thinking.

But you may be thinking, how do you think differently? Abide in the vine, as Jesus says in John 15, is what we are to do in that situation. In proverbs, it says that "iron sharpens iron", so if you're hanging around with someone who is always complaining, you may find yourself doing the same thing. This is why we are to be careful of what we watch, who we hang around with, what we listen to. That's why Jesus says to abide in Him, because if we abide in Him, we are then to become more like Him: more kind, patient, humble, gentle at heart, serving others, forgiving, etc. Abide in Jesus & you will see change. As it says in Matthew 6:33, "seek first the Kingdom of God & His righteousness, & all these things will be added to you".

Also, don't expect it all to come at once & for you to be perfect straight away, we'll never be perfect, only Jesus is. Take it one step at a time, rely on Jesus, lean on Him, abide in Him, be honest with Him, surrender it all to Him. He sees your heart & He knows your worries, so cast it all on Him (1 Peter 5:7), & trust in Him & His timing, not in your own timing. As proverbs 3:5-6 says, trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him & He will make straight your paths".

About the unforgiveness towards others, it's important to forgive them. As Jesus said on the cross, "forgive them for they know not what they do", which is the case with many people, they don't know what they're doing. And because Jesus forgives us, we are to forgive others. We can't expect Him to forgive us, if we can't forgive others. I know its hard to forgive, but ask the Lord to help you forgive, ask Him to work on your heart & to change your heart from a heart of stone to a heart of flesh, as it says in Ezekiel.

Now let's pray:
Lord, I bring this person to you, & I thank you for them. I thank you that they brought this to us & they were able to admit that they have unforgiveness & that they want prayers on repentance. Thank you that you're working on them Lord. Jesus, I pray that you work on their heart & you help them to bring their troubles to you. That they rest in you, as Matthew 11:28 says "come to Me all you who are weary & burdened, & I will give you rest". Thank you Lord, that we can all cast our anxieties on You & bring it to all you & rest in You. Lord, I pray that you bring them to repentance, not shame. Lord, I pray that you soften their heart towards those that have hurt them, & that there be no bitterness, but just pure love to those that have hurt them. Lord, You know what it's like to forgive those that are hard to forgive, so I pray that You help this person to realize that You know what we're going through, not only because You see our hearts, but because You genuinely experienced the pain which we bear. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen

The very cry of your heart for daily repentance is an evidence that the Spirit of God is at work within you, for true repentance is not a single act at the gate of conversion but a sweet companion that walks with faith all the journey through, even to the celestial city. You do well to seek it each day, for as the sermon rightly said, repentance lives as long as faith, and the truest repentance is that of one just entering heaven. A believer dies daily, putting self to death, holding this world with a loose hand, and ever turning afresh from sin to Christ. Let your daily repentance be after a godly sort: not a dry, legal terror, but a sorrow that looks away from itself to the finished work of Jesus. When you grieve over sin, give all glory to God by trusting the blood of the Lamb and not your own tears.

Here is a simple prayer to guide you, but let it be but a form until your own heart makes it living: “Lord, I come before Thee a sinner, needing mercy afresh this day. I repent of the sins I have committed, of pride, unbelief, coldness of heart, and every secret fault. I am ashamed, yet I look to Christ alone for pardon. Wash me anew in His precious blood. Break my heart that I may truly hate sin because it grieves Thee. By Thy grace, help me to forsake evil and walk in newness of life. For Jesus’ sake. Amen.”

Now, concerning the deep wound of a mother’s anger, the childhood pain and unforgiveness you carry, speak plainly before the Lord, for He knoweth altogether the bitterness of your soul. You cannot rid yourself of this burden by mere resolution; you must bring it to the mercy seat in humble pleading. Remember, there is forgiveness with God that He may be feared, and He commands you to forgive as you have been forgiven. The pardon you hold back from another is the measure of your own bondage. Lay it before the cross; Christ hath borne far greater wrongs for you. The anger you release is not excusing what was done, but handing the debt over to the Judge of all the earth, who doeth right.

Let this prayer be yours, breathed often in secret: “O God, whose mercy endureth forever, I bring to Thee the weight of anger and unforgiveness I have held against my mother. Thou seest the wounds of my childhood, the hurt I still carry. I confess my own sinful resentment; I have harbored bitterness and it defiles my spirit. By the love wherewith Thou hast forgiven me in Christ, I choose now to forgive her, fully, freely, as I hope to be forgiven. Tear out this root of bitterness, I pray Thee, and heal the broken places. Help me to love, to pity, and to leave all judgment in Thy righteous hands. Fill me with Thy peace that passeth understanding, and let the memory of past pain be swallowed up in the sweetness of my Savior’s grace. Amen.”

Plead these things daily, casting all your care upon Him, for He careth for you. True prayer is a wrestling; it spreads the case before God and presses the suit with earnestness. Be not discouraged if the answer does not come at once in full feeling, trust the promise. He is slow to anger and of great mercy, and He will not break the bruised reed. Keep on repenting, keep on forgiving, and as you do, you will find that sweet Sister Repentance and the liberating power of forgiveness will make you sing even through tears.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
