Prayers

We hear your heart and your earnest desire for change, and we stand with you in seeking the Lord’s transformation. It’s important to remember that repentance is not just about feeling different, it’s about turning away from sin and turning toward God with a sincere heart. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Forgiveness is not dependent on our emotions but on God’s faithfulness.

Sometimes, the lack of immediate change in our feelings can be discouraging, but we must trust in God’s promises rather than our emotions. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." The work of sanctification is a process, and God is patient with us as He molds us into the image of Christ.

We also want to gently encourage you to examine whether there are any areas in your life where you may be holding onto sin, even unknowingly. Are there habits, relationships, or thought patterns that do not align with God’s Word? Hebrews 12:1 urges us, "Let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." Sometimes, sin can create a barrier that dulls our spiritual sensitivity, making it harder to perceive God’s work in our lives.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister in Christ, lifting up their heart to You. Lord, we thank You for their repentant spirit and their desire to walk in Your ways. We ask that You would strengthen their faith, even when they do not feel the change they long for. Remind them, Father, that Your Word is true and that Your promises are sure. Help them to trust in You rather than their emotions, and to rest in the assurance of Your forgiveness and love.

Lord, we ask that You would reveal any areas of their life that are not fully surrendered to You. Give them the courage to lay down every weight and sin that may be hindering their walk with You. Cleanse them afresh, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in newness of life. We pray that You would surround them with godly fellowship and encouragement, so they do not grow weary in doing what is right.

Father, we also pray for patience and perseverance. Remind them that You are at work in their life, even when they cannot see it. Let them find their hope and joy in You alone, knowing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord through His Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. Spend time in the Scriptures, allowing God to speak to you through His promises. Romans 12:2 encourages us, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Transformation begins in the mind and heart as we align ourselves with God’s truth.

If you are not already doing so, consider finding a biblically grounded church or small group where you can grow in your faith and be accountable to others. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us, "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." God often works through the body of Christ to bring about growth and healing.

Lastly, remember that God’s timing is perfect. Even when we do not see immediate change, He is working behind the scenes for our good. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Trust that God is faithful, and He will bring about the change you seek in His perfect time.

We hear you, and we’re sorry you’re feeling stuck. When you’re repenting every day and still don’t sense any movement inside, it’s easy to wonder if you’re doing something wrong or if God is even at work. Please know you’re not alone in that, many of us have walked through long stretches where the only thing we felt was the effort, not the change.

One thing we’ve learned that helps is that spiritual growth often works like a seed underground: the early changes happen where we can’t see them, long before anything breaks the surface. Feelings can be a poor measure of what’s actually happening. Over time, our desires shift, our reflexes toward sin weaken a little, and our hunger for what’s right grows, but that progress is usually gradual and quiet, not a lightning bolt. The fact that you haven’t given up, that you keep coming back to pray and turn, is itself a sign that God’s Spirit is holding you and drawing you forward.

For a practical step, alongside the prayers you’re already praying, you might try one small act of turning away each day: when a particular temptation rises, replace it with a concrete positive action, maybe a brief call to a mature friend, a few minutes of worship, or a simple phrase of trust said out loud. Don’t measure the day by your feelings; measure it by those tiny choices. Over weeks and months, you’ll likely look back and see the shift.

Father, thank you that you finish what you start in us. When we can’t feel your work, remind us that you are faithful, and give our friend the patience to keep walking. Quiet the inner demand for instant results, and grow a steady hope that trusts your timing. In Jesus’ name.

It is a sore thing to feel no change though you bend the knee daily. Let me speak plainly, your very complaint betrays the true state. A repentance that leaves you staring inward, weighing your own emotions, is likely the carnal repentance that springs from terror or mere self-effort. It comes up in a night and withers in a night, affecting only the surface, hardly more than skin deep. True evangelical repentance is not this.

You cannot draw up repentance from the depths of your own heart as you might draw water from a well. It is not a preparation for grace but the first result of grace working within the soul. If you have been trying to make yourself soft enough, sorry enough, changed enough to come to Christ, you have reversed the order. Law and terrors do but harden all the while they work alone. It is a sense of blood-bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone.

Look away from yourself entirely. The repentance that saves is that which leads you to look out of self to Christ and to Christ only. The goodness of God leads you to repentance, not the lash, not the gloom, not the ceaseless inventory of your own vileness apart from Him. Has He not borne your sin? Has He not been pierced for your transgressions? There is not a reproach that tore His heart that did not make Him more beautiful. Bring your hard, unfeeling heart to His bleeding heart, and ask Him to work repentance in you by His Holy Spirit through believing the truth.

If your repentance is practical and real, it will give God glory by causing you to crave after holiness, not simply to dread punishment. Mark this well: a divided heart is not broken, but a broken heart is never divided. Cease from measuring your feelings and cling only to Jesus. Let your soul now breathe out the prayer, "Create in me a clean heart, O God." My watchmaker cleans best the watch he made. Your Creator alone can remake you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You say you feel no change, though you repent daily and pray the prayers I sent. Yet consider: tears and many words do not make repentance. Esau sought it with tears and found no place for it, because his grief was not true turning. His heart still held murder, as Cain’s did. True repentance hates the sin itself, not merely fears its punishment. If you still cling to old deeds, the foundation remains dead works. You must be renewed in the spirit of your mind. The same person is changed, but the Spirit will not endure old deeds. Whoever has the Spirit performs no old deed. So ask yourself: do I truly wish to leave the darkness and come to the light? Christ came not to condemn but to free from darkness. If you linger there, you have no excuse. Yet do not despair. For those who have fallen, the Apostle travails in birth again until Christ is formed in them. The power of repentance is great, but it demands a genuine change. Let fear of falling make you zealous, but let hope in God’s mercy make you meek. Do not trust in feelings; trust in the renewal that comes by the Spirit when you cut off the sin.

I would really appreciate your prayers. The weight of unforgiveness and psychosis is weighing me down. It feels really heavy. Also I keep on repenting of my anger but can't see or feel any difference.
