We rejoice with you in the precious gift of the Holy Spirit and the manifestation of speaking in tongues, a beautiful sign of His presence and work within you. The Word of God tells us in Acts 2:4, "They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak." This is indeed a blessing, and we praise God for His faithfulness in your life.
However, we understand your concern about the Holy Spirit speaking through you even as you are trying to rest. It is important to remember that the Holy Spirit is our Comforter, Guide, and Helper, and He desires to lead us into all truth (John 16:13). We encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer, asking Him to help you understand what He is communicating to you during these times. It may be that He is interceding for you or others according to the will of God, as Romans 8:26-27 tells us, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit and for the manifestation of speaking in tongues in our ###'s life. Lord, we ask that You grant them wisdom and understanding as they seek to discern Your voice and Your will. Help them to find rest in You, knowing that You are in control and that Your Spirit is working within them for Your glory.
Father, we ask that You would teach them how to yield to the Holy Spirit in a way that brings peace and rest to their soul. May they grow in their relationship with You and in their understanding of the gifts You have given them. We pray that they would be sensitive to Your leading and that they would always seek to honor You in all things.
Lord, we also pray for protection over their mind and spirit, that they would not be overwhelmed or disturbed by the enemy, but that they would stand firm in their faith, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God's Word and in prayer, seeking to grow in your relationship with Him. Remember that the Holy Spirit is our Helper, and He desires to lead us into all truth. As you continue to yield to Him, He will guide you and teach you all things (John 14:26). Be patient with yourself and trust in the Lord's perfect timing. He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes on Jesus, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
