We come before the Lord with hearts full of gratitude for the day He has given and for the presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. We lift up the peace of Jerusalem, praying that it may be established according to God’s will, as it is written in Psalm 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Those who love you will prosper."

We hear the cry of your heart regarding the struggles in your relationship with this man. Trust is the foundation of any godly relationship, and it is clear that both of you are wrestling with doubts and insecurities. Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We must first place our trust in the Lord, for He is faithful even when human trust falters.

We notice that this relationship is not aligned with biblical principles in several ways. First, the Bible is clear that intimacy—both emotional and physical—is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. In Hebrews 13:4, we read, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." The feelings of jealousy, the discussions about physical attraction toward others, and the mention of pregnancy outside of marriage reveal that this relationship is operating outside of God’s design. We must rebuke the spirit of fornication and impurity that seeks to defile what God intends to be holy. We pray that the Lord would convict both of your hearts to turn away from this path and seek His will for purity and righteousness.

We also see that this relationship lacks the commitment and structure of marriage, which is the only God-ordained context for romantic love. Ephesians 5:31-32 tells us, "For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh. This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and the assembly." Marriage is a reflection of Christ’s relationship with the Church, and it is meant to be a lifelong covenant. We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether this man is truly called to be your husband, and if so, to pursue marriage with intentionality and godly counsel. If he is not willing to commit to you in this way, we must ask the Lord to give you the strength to walk away, for your heart deserves the security and honor that only a godly marriage can provide.

We must also address the issue of jealousy and comparison. The Bible warns us in Song of Solomon 8:6, "Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm; for love is strong as death. Jealousy is as cruel as Sheol." Jealousy poisons relationships and reveals a lack of trust in God’s provision. Instead of seeking to make one another jealous, we are called to build one another up in love, as 1 Thessalonians 5:11 instructs, "Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do." We pray that the Lord would remove jealousy from your hearts and replace it with contentment and gratitude for the blessings He has given you.

We also lift up the need for open and honest communication. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." It is clear that there are unspoken thoughts and feelings between you both. We encourage you to seek wise, godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor or a mature Christian couple—who can help you navigate these challenges with biblical wisdom. Transparency is essential in any relationship, but especially in one that seeks to honor God.

We must also address the financial aspect of this request. While it is kind to help others in need, we must be cautious about enabling unhealthy patterns or creating dependency. The Bible teaches us in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: ‘If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.’" We pray that the Lord would provide for both of your needs in ways that honor Him and encourage responsibility and stewardship.

Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance for our sister in Christ. Lord, we thank You for her desire to trust and be trusted, but we ask that You would realign her heart with Your will. Father, we rebuke the spirit of impurity and jealousy that has crept into this relationship. We pray that You would break any ungodly soul ties and cleanse both of their hearts from all unrighteousness. Lord, we ask that You would reveal to them the path You have for their lives—whether that is marriage or walking separate ways. Give them the courage to follow Your leading, even if it is difficult.

Father, we pray for restoration of trust, but not at the expense of Your truth. Help them to communicate openly and honestly, without fear or manipulation. Lord, if this man is to be her husband, we pray that You would soften his heart to commit to her in a way that honors You. If he is not the one, we ask that You would give her the strength to let go and trust in Your plan for her future. Remove any idolatry of this relationship from her heart, and help her to find her worth and identity in You alone.

We pray for protection over her heart and mind, Lord. Guard her from the lies of the enemy that seek to tell her she is not enough or that she must compete for love. Remind her of Your truth in Zephaniah 3:17, "Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing." Let her rest in Your love, knowing that she is fully known and fully loved by You.

Father, we also pray for this man. Soften his heart, Lord, and draw him closer to You. If he does not know You as his Savior, we pray that he would come to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. If he does know You, we ask that You would convict him of any sin and lead him into righteousness. Give him the desire to pursue godly relationships and to treat our sister with the honor and respect she deserves.

Lord, we lift up the possibility of pregnancy. If she is indeed carrying a child, we pray that You would protect both mother and baby. We ask that You would provide for all their needs and surround them with godly support and counsel. If this is not Your will, we pray that You would close the door to this path and lead them into Your perfect plan.

Finally, Father, we pray for all those reading this request. Meet each one at their point of need, Lord. Whether they are seeking healing, restoration, direction, or salvation, we ask that You would move mightily in their lives. Remind them that they are never alone, for You are with them always.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. It is through His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His power that we can walk in victory. Strengthen our sister, Lord, and lead her into the abundant life You have promised. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
