We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your concerns for protection, discernment, and strength. First, we must acknowledge that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood that we are covered and protected. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Father God, we stand in the gap for this dear one and her son, claiming the promise that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask for Your hedge of protection to surround them like the mountains surround Jerusalem (Psalm 125:2). Shield them from the schemes of those who seek to harm them, whether it be neighbors, coworkers, or managers. Let Your angels encamp around them, guarding them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11).
We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or confusion that may be trying to take root in their lives. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that they will walk in the wisdom and discernment that comes from above, which is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy (James 3:17). Lord, grant them the strength to stand firm in the face of adversity, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
We also pray for protection over any acquaintances and opportunities that come their way. Father, lead them to relationships and circumstances that will draw them closer to You and further Your kingdom. Guard their hearts and minds from deception, and let Your light expose any hidden motives or agendas that may not align with Your will (Ephesians 5:11-13). We ask that You open doors of opportunity that no one can shut, and close doors that are not of You (Revelation 3:7-8).
Lord, if there are any areas in their lives that are not pleasing to You, reveal them so that they may repent and turn away from anything that hinders their relationship with You. We pray that they would seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). May they find their strength and identity in Christ alone, and may they walk in the fullness of the blessings You have prepared for them.
We also lift up any ungodly influences or relationships that may be causing harm. If there are acquaintances or opportunities that are leading them away from You, we ask that You remove them from their path. Protect them from the snares of the enemy, and let them not be entangled in the affairs of this life (2 Timothy 2:4). Father, we ask that You bring godly influences into their lives—people who will encourage them in their faith and hold them accountable to Your Word.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we break every curse, hex, or spell that may have been spoken or sent their way. We declare that the blood of Jesus covers them, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on the promise that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). May they walk in the authority and victory that is theirs through Christ Jesus.
We pray all these things with faith, knowing that You hear us and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they find peace in Your presence and rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1).
Amen.
