We lift up your family before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and a deep desire to see His will done in each of their lives. First, we must address the situation regarding your relationship with ###. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God from the beginning. Genesis 2:24 says, "Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh." The term "boyfriend" implies a relationship that is not yet under the covenant of marriage, and we must encourage you to consider whether this relationship is honoring to God. If you and ### are not married, we urge you to prayerfully seek God’s will regarding marriage or to live in a way that honors Him, refraining from sexual intimacy outside of marriage, as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
We also lift up your parents and their relationships. If ### and ### are not your parents' spouses, we must gently remind you that God’s design for marriage is between one man and one woman for life. Matthew 19:4-6 says, "He answered, 'Haven’t you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?’ So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.'" If there are any relationships in your family that do not align with this truth, we pray for repentance, healing, and restoration according to God’s will.
For your daughters—###, ###, and ###—and your grandchildren—###, ###, ###, and ###—we pray for God’s protection, wisdom, and guidance. May they grow in the knowledge and fear of the Lord, and may their lives be a testament to His love and grace. Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We pray that you and their parents would have the strength and wisdom to raise them in a way that honors God.
For ###’s daughter, ###, we also lift her up, asking that God would draw her close to Him and surround her with godly influences. For your pets, family, friends, and neighbors, we pray for God’s blessings, protection, and provision over their lives. May they see the love of Christ through you and be drawn to Him.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to You. Lord, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your hand of protection, wisdom, and grace to be upon them. Father, we pray for ### and ###, that You would reveal Your will for their relationship. If it is Your plan for them to marry, we ask that You would guide them in purity and holiness, that they would honor You in all they do. If not, we pray for Your strength to help them walk in a way that pleases You.
Lord, we ask for Your healing and restoration in the lives of ###’s parents. If there are any relationships that do not align with Your Word, we pray for repentance and a return to Your design for marriage. May Your truth prevail in their lives. For ###, ###, ###, and the grandchildren, we pray for Your protection over their hearts and minds. May they grow to love You with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Give ### and their parents the wisdom to raise them in Your ways.
For ###, we ask that You would draw her close to You and surround her with godly influences. For the pets, family, friends, and neighbors, we pray for Your blessings and provision. May they see Your love through ### and be drawn to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Lord, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in each of these lives, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.
