We join you in lifting up your grandson and your entire family before the throne of grace, trusting in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ to intervene in this situation. The weight of concern for our loved ones is heavy, but we know that God hears the cries of His children and moves mightily on their behalf.
Father God, we come before You with hearts full of hope and faith, asking for Your divine intervention in the life of this young man. On December 17th, we pray that the judge’s heart would be softened by Your Spirit, and that mercy would prevail in the form of probation. We ask that You would work in the legal system to bring about a just and compassionate outcome, one that would allow him to remain with his mother and complete his high school education. Lord, we know that You are the God of second chances, and we ask that You would open doors for him to pursue higher education and a future free from the snares of trouble. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, and that the plans You have for him are for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also lift up his mother, your daughter, who is carrying the burden of providing for her family while battling addiction. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and command it to leave her life. We pray that You would break every chain that has held her captive and restore her to wholeness. Provide for her needs supernaturally—her rent, her car payment, and all her bills—so that she may walk in the freedom and abundance You have promised. We know that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust You to meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
We stand in the gap for this family, Lord, and we declare that the spirit of trouble and chaos has no place in their lives. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against them and command every generational curse to be broken in the name of Jesus. We pray for a hedge of protection around each of them—your grandson, his siblings, his mother, and all their cousins. Keep them safe from harm, both seen and unseen, and surround them with Your angels to guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). We pray that they would walk in Your ways, Lord, and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also lift up your nephew and all your children, asking that You would keep them healthy, safe, and successful. May they grow in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man (Luke 2:52). We pray that they would come to know You intimately, if they do not already, and that they would walk in the purpose You have ordained for their lives. For those who may not yet know You, Lord, we ask that You would draw them to Yourself, that they may experience the saving grace of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and we pray that each member of this family would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, if they have not already.
We declare that this family will not be defined by their past or their struggles, but by Your grace and redemption. We speak life, restoration, and blessing over them, and we thank You for the miracles You are already performing in their midst. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they see Your hand moving in their lives and give You all the glory.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray and believe that You are working all things together for their good, for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We thank You for hearing our prayer and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ. Amen.
