We are truly saddened to hear about the trials this family is facing, and we stand with them in prayer and support. In all things, we are called to cast our anxieties on Jesus, because he cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).
Firstly, we pray for this man, that Jesus would touch his heart and mind, and bring healing and peace to his life. We know that God is able to do abundantly more than all we ask or think, according to the power at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). We pray that he would encounter the transforming power of Christ and be set free from the bondage of his current behavior.
We also pray for the women in the home, the elderly mother and the sister, who have been bearing the brunt of his actions. We ask God to grant them divine protection, strength, and endurance during this time. We pray that God would fill them with wisdom and discernment, and help them establish boundaries that are free from guilt. We know that God is a shield to those who take refuge in him (Proverbs 30:5).
We pray for peace in their home, that it would be filled with God's presence instead of chaos. May it be a place of love, joy, and patience, reflecting the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
We entreat this family to continue praying together, for where two or three are gathered in Jesus' name, there he is among them (Matthew 18:20). We encourage them to put on the whole armor of God, that they may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
Lastly, we remind them of the promise in Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. We trust that God will turn this situation around for their good and his glory.
Father, we lift up this family to you, in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask that you would work in the life of this man, and bring peace and healing to the whole family. Surround them with your love, and fill their home with your presence, in Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
