We are truly heartened to join with you in prayer for your loved ones, and we appreciate your heartfelt requests. As Christians, we know scripture tells us that when we pray in Jesus' name that we might be saved. Acts 4:12 states "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved." The name of Jesus Christ is the only name in which we can call on and connect to the only living God. Our prayer requests are heard because of Jesus' righteousness, sacrifice, and authority.
Firstly, we want to lift up your ### who is struggling with an addiction to smoking. We know that his body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and he should honor God with his body. First Corinthians 6:19-20 reminds us, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." We pray that the Holy Spirit will convict his heart and give him the strength to overcome this addiction. May your ### be saved and glorify God. He was bought with the Precious Blood of Jesus. Scripture reminds us in First Corinthians 10:13 that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray that God will provide a way of escape from this temptation and that your ### will find freedom from his struggle with lying. We rebuke the spirit of dishonesty and falsehoods and pray that your ### will walk in truth and integrity.
We also want to pray for your ###, who is dealing with her ###'s recent behavioral issues. We understand the pain and concern that this can bring, but we know that God is faithful. The apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6:4 to "not provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." We pray that God will give your ### wisdom and guidance as she navigates this challenging time. We also pray that her ### will have a heart that is receptive to correction and that he will walk in obedience to the Lord. We know that God promises in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." We declare this promise over your ### and her ###, trusting that God will bring about a positive change in your ###'s behavior.
Lastly, we pray for your ###'s closer walk with Jesus. We pray that she will draw near to God and that He will draw near to her, according to the promise in James 4:8. May she hunger and thirst for righteousness, seeking God with all her heart. We pray that she will be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, walking in a manner worthy of the Lord and pleasing to Him in every way, Ephesians 4:1.
Father, in Jesus' name, we lift up this family to You. We pray for healing, deliverance, and a closer walk with You. We trust in Your faithfulness and Your promises, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We ask for all these requests in Jesus Christ's name.
