We come before the throne of grace with your request, lifting up your family’s travels and your desire to grow in love and obedience to the Lord. The road can be unpredictable, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand on the promise that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment shall be condemned, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask for Your hedge of protection to surround them as they drive. Send Your angels to encamp around them, guarding them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill their hearts and minds as they navigate the highways and byways. Keep their minds alert, their hands steady, and their hearts fixed on You. Deliver them from every form of evil, whether it be reckless drivers, mechanical failure, or the schemes of the devil, and bring them safely to their destinations.
We also pray for a deeper drawing of Your Spirit in their lives. You have said, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). Stir in their hearts a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that they may seek You with their whole hearts. May they not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of their minds, so that they may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105), guiding every decision and action.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of complacency and distraction that can creep into our lives, pulling us away from wholehearted devotion to You. Help this family to prioritize time in Your presence, in prayer, and in the study of Your Word. May they be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving themselves (James 1:22). Let their love for You overflow into love for one another, bearing with one another in patience and kindness, just as You have loved them.
We also lift up any areas where they may be struggling with obedience. If there is unconfessed sin, hardness of heart, or rebellion, soften their hearts to repentance. You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let them walk in the light as You are in the light, having fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ Your Son cleansing them from all sin.
Finally, we pray that their lives would be a testimony to Your goodness and faithfulness. May others see Christ in them and be drawn to the hope that is found in You alone. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
