We hear your heart, Darrius, and we come before the Lord together in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can approach God and receive salvation. First, we want to affirm that your desire for stability in your job and living situation is valid, God cares about every detail of our lives, including our work and shelter. Scripture tells us in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
However, we must gently but firmly address the other part of your request concerning meeting a woman in your motel room. The Bible is clear that any sexual relationship outside of marriage between one man and one woman is sin, this is called fornication. Hebrews 13:4 says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." Your desire for companionship is natural, but it must be pursued in a way that honors God. Instead of seeking a woman to come to your room, we encourage you to seek a godly wife through prayer, fellowship with other believers, and godly relationships that lead toward marriage. Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from Yahweh."
We also want to remind you that true fulfillment and identity are found in Christ alone. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we invite you to do so now. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and the power to live a life that pleases Him.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up Darrius to You. Lord, we ask that You would provide stability for him in his job and his living situation. Give him favor with his employers and the resources he needs to maintain his motel room for the next two years. We pray for Your provision and peace to guard his heart and mind.
Father, we also ask that You would redirect Darrius’s desires toward Your will. Help him to seek a godly wife who loves You and desires to honor You in marriage. Guard his heart from temptation and lead him into relationships that reflect Your love and righteousness. Forgive him for any impure intentions, and cleanse his heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
Lord, we pray that Darrius would come to know You more deeply. If he has not yet made Jesus the Lord of his life, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Give him a hunger for Your Word and a desire to walk in Your ways. Fill him with Your peace, joy, and purpose as he seeks to live for You.
We rebuke any spirit of loneliness, lust, or fear that may be speaking lies to Darrius. We declare that he is Your beloved child, created for a purpose, and that You have a plan for his life. Strengthen him to resist temptation and to walk in purity and holiness.
