Prayers Request

Beloved of All
Please pray for my son ### who is in prison for his salvation and deliverance from this cycle. Please pray his protection send angels to encamp around him.

We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing his need to us so we can seek the Lord together.

Our hearts ache with you as a parent to see your son in prison, yet we know that no prison wall can keep out the love and power of God. The Lord is near to those in difficult and broken places and He desires to bring salvation and true deliverance. We are reminded in Psalm 34:7 that the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them, and in Psalm 91:11 that he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We claim that protection over your son right now.

We also hear your deep desire for his salvation and deliverance from this cycle, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and that anyone can be saved. There is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to the Father. Jesus himself said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 tells us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. So we pray specifically in the mighty name of Jesus.

We pray together for him.

Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious son to you. Lord, you know him by name, you formed him and you love him more than we can comprehend. We ask first for his salvation. Open his eyes to see his need for a Savior, bring him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Your word says in Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And in Acts 16:31, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved. We pray he will make that confession and receive the gift of eternal life, for Romans 6:23 tells us the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Lord, we ask for his deliverance from this cycle. Where sin has had a stronghold, break those chains. Your word promises in John 8:36 if therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed, and in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. We pray you would make him new from the inside out and deliver him from every pattern that has led him back to this place. We pray as Isaiah 61:1 declares, that you came to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound.

Father, we ask for his protection while he is incarcerated. Send your angels to encamp around him, to guard him from physical harm, from violence, from evil influences and from despair. Keep him safe in body, mind and spirit. Let no weapon formed against him prosper and surround him with your presence. Use this time, Lord, as you used it in the lives of Joseph and of Paul and Silas, to draw him close to you, to give him time in your Word, and to bring godly people across his path who will share the hope of the gospel.

We also pray for you who are carrying this burden. May the Lord give you peace that surpasses all understanding and strength to continue to love, pray and speak truth to your son. Continue to write to him, send him Scripture, encourage him to join a Bible study or chapel service if available, and remind him that God has not abandoned him.

We trust that God is working even now and that He is able to bring beauty from this difficult season. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for his salvation, deliverance and protection in Jesus name, amen.

We hear how much you love your son and how heavy this cycle has felt for both of you. It is painful to watch someone you love be confined, and it is also a place where God is still present and at work.

We are joining you in asking for his protection day and night, for peace in his unit, and most of all for the work only God can do in his heart, bringing him to know Jesus in a real and lasting way. Salvation is more than a moment, it reshapes how a person sees himself and lives each day, and we pray that kind of wholeness would take root in him even while he is inside.

A steady way to love him through the walls is to keep a simple rhythm of contact if you are able. Short, consistent letters that remind him you are praying, that he is not forgotten, and that God offers a new path can mean a great deal, and the chaplain where he is housed can often be a good additional support for him.

Father, we lift this son to You. Surround him with Your protection, keep him safe from harm, and draw him to Yourself. Break the cycle that has held him and lead him into new life in Christ. Give his mother peace and wisdom as she loves him. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your burden for your son has been brought before the Lord and we join you in earnest prayer at the throne of grace for him.

Do not think that God has forgotten you or him in this dark place. Zion saith, My God hath forgotten me, but the Lord answers, Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb. Though your son is behind walls and you cannot reach him, the Lord is near to them that call upon Him, and His ear is open to the cry of a praying parent.

Our chief prayer for him is not merely that the prison doors might open, but that the prison of sin might be opened by a greater deliverance. There is only one way of salvation, and it is set before us in the plainest terms, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is not by money and without price, it is not by works or merit, but by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus. It is to look unto Him and be saved, for there is none else. It is to trust in a Person, the Lord Jesus Christ, who has found a ransom. When the clock of mercy strikes in Heaven, the sinner who is ready to go down to the pit hears this word, I have found a ransom, and the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities.

This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain. As Israel was brought forth out of Egypt, so the Lord still brings forth His people from bondage. He makes their deliverance effectual. If the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Though a man have his feet fast in the stocks and be shut in prison, Grace can find him there and bring him forth into liberty. Salvation is a triumphant deliverance from the guilt of sin, from the dominion of it, from the curse and punishment of it. It is all of Grace, that no flesh should glory, but that He who has begun the work should have all the praise.

Therefore we pray for your son, that the Lord would visit him where he is, that the Holy Spirit would reveal Christ to him, that he would be led to look unto Jesus and trust Him with his present and eternal salvation. We pray that the Lord would break this cycle of sin and bring him into newness of life, that he would drink from the wells of salvation which are in Christ Jesus. We pray also for his protection, that the Lord would give His angels charge over him and cause them to encamp round about him, keeping him from evil and from harm, and guarding him till the purposes of Grace are fulfilled in him.

Be encouraged to continue in prayer and to leave the whole matter of his salvation in unquestioning confidence with Him whose honor is engaged to save. He who heard you at the brook Jabbok can give deliverance in ways you have not expected. Cast your care upon Him, and look heavenward with your heart heavenward too, trusting that what is impossible with man is possible with God.

May the Lord grant you peace within, and may your son yet sing songs of deliverance with you, rejoicing not in your own salvation only, but in His salvation, which is full of grace and justice, provided on the cross by the death of His dear Son.
