You are not unknown or forgotten, for Psalm 139:1-2 tells us that the Lord searches us and knows us, he knows when we sit down and when we rise up, and he understands our thoughts from afar.

It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus himself said in John 14:6 that he is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through him. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. To come to God in prayer and to receive eternal life, we must believe in our hearts and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead, as promised in Romans 10:9. Though they are unspoken to us, they are fully known to Him who searches the heart, and there is comfort in this, that God has already spoken in His holiness and His Word stands sure.
Calling upon God in the day of trouble brings honor to Him in the very act, for it is a truthful recognition that He is, and that He is a present help. Prayer in the day of trouble is honest speech with God, and He has coupled it with a blessed assurance, I will deliver you. While you are waiting for God to answer, remember that He has already given His promise, and faith may say, God has spoken, I will rejoice. What a power your soul will have in prayer if you go to God and say, Do as Thou hast said.
We would have you deal with God as you would have your own children deal with you. If He says He will save you if you trust Him, then if you trust Him, He will save you. It is true humility to take God at His word and to believe Him. When fear comes, do as the Psalmist did, What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. Look to the Son of God pouring out His life and trust Him, for then sins are gone in a moment through the blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is through Christ alone, and there is no other way of peace with God. If you can say, I have it straight from the throne by trusting in the blood of Christ, then you have received it from Headquarters and there can be no mistake about it.
Intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, and it benefits those who offer it, for it keeps the night watches around the saints. We will plead for you as Jacob pleaded with definite and clear petitions, and as David pleaded, Remember the word unto Thy servant. Prayer is believably remembering that God has promised a certain blessing and then reminding Him that He has promised it. We can never pray an inch beyond the tether of the promise with any assurance of being heard, but on the ground of His own Word we are on sure ground.
Let us pray together. O God of our fathers, Thou hast invited us to call upon Thee in the day of trouble. Thou knowest these four requests which are hidden from us but open before Thee. Remember Thy word unto Thy servant. Do as Thou hast said. Give grace to trust Thee fully through Jesus Christ Thy Son, to walk in Thy holy way, and to desire only what Thou hast declared to be good and right. Deliver in Thy time and in Thy wisdom, that Thou mayest be exalted and that the one who prays may glorify Thee.
