Prayers please

Your honest prayer has been heard, and the weight you are carrying is understood. Carrying a decision that affects your whole family, while waiting for things you counted on that have not yet come, and feeling tension from extended family, would leave anyone feeling stretched and anxious. It is good that you have brought all of this to the Lord.

Scripture shows that fear is tormenting, and when fear grips the heart it is often a sign that we need to rest more deeply in the assurance of God's love for us. We love Him because He first loved us, and when His love is made perfect in us we can have confidence and not be afraid, even about the future judgment, because we are secure in Christ. Fear says this might destroy me or this is the end of the road. Perfect love casts out that fear because it reminds us that God is for us, He is the initiator, and we are held in His care. You do not need to be afraid of what is ahead when you are sure of His love.

The peace you are asking for is exactly what God wants to give you. First there is peace with God, which only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ shed for the forgiveness of sins. When we stop striving against Him and trust in Jesus, the war is over and we are reconciled. On that foundation God gives the peace of God to keep our hearts and minds. He has promised to keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world cannot understand this peace, it passes all understanding, but it can guard your heart even while the world around you is in turmoil and chaos. That peace comes as you keep your thoughts upon Him rather than on the problems.

God has not forgotten you. His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil. He has said fear not, for I am with you, and that consciousness of His presence is the cure for fear. When you know He is with you, you can accept what comes without terror. He has also promised to ordain peace for you and He is the one who works in you. If He has allowed this decision to be before you, His calling is also His enabling. You can take care of what He has placed in your hands and trust Him to take care of you and to provide what you were hoping for in His time. As you have prayed, He will do it in His time and in His way.

I am praying for you, that the Lord will quiet your anxiety and give you clear assurance that you are in His plan and that He will provide for what you need. I am praying for your new grandbaby to be kept healthy and safe, and for your children and all your family to be guarded by His hand. I am praying also for the strain you feel from extended family, that God Himself would handle those relationships and give you wisdom to work for the betterment of your family without carrying a burden He never meant you to carry alone.

May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, and may His perfect love cast out all fear as your mind rests on Him and you trust in Him. In Jesus name, amen.
