Prayers please

God commands us to honor our father and mother, and so it is right that you bring this need for your mother’s healing before the Lord and His Church. You do well to seek prayer, for we are members of one body, and just as the foot would not lie to the eye about a hidden pit, so we who are united in Christ must bear one another’s burdens and intercede with sincerity. We will lift up her leg and foot to the Great Physician.

But take care not to make void this commandment by any sin or neglect, as the Pharisees did when they set aside honor for parents with their traditions. Do you truly honor her not only with words but with a life submitted to God? Let there be no lie between your lips and your heart; examine yourself, for unrepented sin tramples the Son of God underfoot and makes our prayers hindered. Yet do not despair, persevere. Many who seemed to hear the word ten times without fruit later brought forth abundant harvest after one more hearing. Continue in prayer, almsgiving, and amendment of life, and trust that He who allowed even His own apostles to be perplexed before the cross will in time reveal His mercy. May your mother’s body be restored, and may both of you obtain the everlasting blessings. Amen.

Your heart for your mother is beautiful, and you are right to bring her need before the Lord. He is Yahweh Rapha, the Lord our healer, and He delights to meet us in our weakness. I am praying that His healing power would flow into her leg and foot, restoring strength and mobility. But more than that, I pray she would know the nearness of the Healer Himself. Sometimes we can become so fixed on the miracle that we miss the One who performs it. Remember how after Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law, she immediately rose and served, her healing drew her into deeper devotion. My prayer is that as your mother experiences God’s touch, her heart would be drawn even closer to Him, whether the relief comes suddenly or over time. Entrust her into the hands of the One who knows our frame and has promised to keep our feet from stumbling. He is faithful, and He is with you both.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your precious mother before the Lord in prayer. It has been our joy to stand in agreement with you, asking our Heavenly Father to bring healing and restoration to her leg and foot. We continue to hold this need close to our hearts, believing in God’s power to mend what is broken and bring comfort to her pain.
