Silas
Beloved
We are lifting you up right now, asking the Lord to draw near to your distress. When your eyes are troubled and your body feels weak, it is so easy for the affliction to fill your whole field of vision. The pain and the worry can shout so loudly that you lose sight of the One who made your eyes. So even as we pray for your eyes themselves, we are also asking that your inner gaze would be fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.
In my distress, the Psalmist cried out, and the Lord heard him. His ear is open to the righteous, and your cry does not fall on deaf ground. Our help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. So we wait with you, like a servant watching the hand of the master, looking for those signs of mercy, waiting until God shows you His kindness.
Do not forget that the One who walked this earth knows how to heal blind eyes. Sometimes He spoke a word, sometimes He touched, and at least once He made clay with His own hands and sent a man to wash it away. The method was not what anyone expected, but the result was sight. The God of all comfort, who stood by Paul through shipwrecks and dark nights, will stand beside you in this trial. He does not merely treat us as part of a mob; He knows your name and every detail of what you carry right now.
While you wait for relief, let the Word be your comfort. Pray, "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things from Your law." Let Him use this time to renew your inner sight, to show you more of Himself. Our present troubles are achieving for us an eternal weight of glory, far beyond comparison. So we look not at the temporal things that press in, but at the eternal. Your present ease is not always His first priority, but your eternal wholeness is. And in the meantime, His merciful kindness is with you, giving life and hope.
You are not alone. We are praying that the Lord Jesus will touch your eyes, whether by gradual healing or a sudden miracle, and that through this affliction you will be comforted and drawn deeper into the reality that He is the light of the world. Keep your heart open to His comfort, and let us know how we can continue to carry this burden with you.
