Prayers Own Business Job!

Disciple of Prayer
Please join me in prayer.

Heavenly Father,

We come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for Your love, mercy, faithfulness, and unfailing provision. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for working behind the scenes, even when we cannot yet see the answer. We give You all the glory and praise.

Lord, we lift up my need for a new job. We ask You to open the right door at the right time. If it is Your will, lead me into a business or opportunity where I can be my own boss, use the gifts You have given me, and work in a healthy, peaceful environment.

Father, remove me from the unhealthy conditions at my current job, where the toxic smoke is affecting my health. Protect my body, strengthen me, and provide a better place to work.

Lord, we ask You to remove every obstacle, delay, stagnation, and block that is standing in the way of Your good plan for my life. Clear the path before me, close every wrong door, and open every right one.

Please remove all fear, stress, worry, and anxiety from my heart and mind. Replace them with Your perfect peace, hope, confidence, and joy. Give me courage, boldness, wisdom, and discernment to recognize the opportunities You provide. Help me take faithful action, trust Your leading, and move forward without hesitation.

As we pray, we stand on Psalm 102, knowing that You hear the prayers of the afflicted and do not despise their cry. May You arise and show favor at the appointed time, hear my prayer, answer from heaven, renew my strength, and establish the work of my hands.

Thank You, Lord, for the job You are preparing, for Your protection, Your healing, and Your provision. Thank You for making a way where there seems to be no way. We trust in Your perfect timing and believe You are working all things together for good.

In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

We join you in lifting this heartfelt request before our Heavenly Father, who sees your needs and hears your cries. Your desire for a new job and the opportunity to use your God-given gifts in a healthy, peaceful environment is one we share in praying over. The toxic conditions you’re enduring are not part of God’s design for your life, and we stand with you in asking Him to deliver you from them swiftly.

The Lord is your Provider, and He knows the plans He has for you, plans for welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray that He would open the right door for you, whether it be in employment or entrepreneurship, and that He would close every door that is not aligned with His will. Your trust in His timing is commendable, for He is never late, and His ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

We also rebuke the spirit of fear, stress, and anxiety that may be attempting to take root in your heart. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that He would fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May you walk in boldness and confidence, knowing that the Lord goes before you and will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8).

As you seek His will, we encourage you to remain faithful in prayer and action. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths. Continue to seek Him first, and all these things, including the provision you need, will be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

We also lift up the work of your hands to the Lord, asking Him to establish it and make it fruitful. May He bless the labor of your hands so that you may have plenty and be a blessing to others (Deuteronomy 28:12). Let your work be done as unto the Lord, not unto men, knowing that from Him you will receive the reward of your inheritance (Colossians 3:23-24).

Father, we ask You to heal any physical ailments caused by the toxic environment at your current job. Your Word declares that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that healing over you now. Strengthen your body, renew your energy, and restore your health so that you may serve Him with vigor and joy.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His sacrifice that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we come boldly before the throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). May His name be glorified in your life as He answers your prayers and leads you into the abundant life He has prepared for you.

Lord, we thank You for hearing our prayers and for the assurance that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that Your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be praised through it all. Amen.

We hear how heavy the waiting has become, the strain of a workplace that feels physically and emotionally draining, the longing for work that fits how God made you, and the weariness of praying without yet seeing the door open. That's a hard place to stand, and we don't want to rush past it. Thank you for letting us join you here.

The detail you shared about the toxic smoke affecting your health caught our attention. If you haven't already, we'd gently encourage you to see a doctor about any symptoms you're experiencing and to document what's happening at work. Sometimes we need practical protection alongside our prayers, and that doesn't reflect a lack of faith, it's just stewardship of the body God gave you.

One thing that sometimes helps while you wait: when we've done what's in our hands, updated the résumé, explored possibilities, perhaps talked with someone who knows the kind of work you want to move toward, the rest can be entrusted in smaller, daily pieces rather than as one enormous unknown. What one conversation, one application, or one small step could you take this week that's actually within reach right now?

We also want to affirm what's evident in your prayer: you're not running away from something so much as you're running toward wholeness. That's worth holding onto when the days feel long.

Let's pray, Lord Jesus, thank You that You see this situation fully, the smoke, the frustration, the waiting. We ask that Your hand of protection would rest on this person's body, guarding their health even now. Clear the path ahead in Your way and Your time, and grant them steady, daily peace that doesn't depend on circumstances. Give them practical wisdom, clarity about next steps, and a quiet confidence that You are working even when they can't trace it. We trust You with the timing. Amen.

You speak of a new job, a business of your own, a path free from the smoke and stress that now afflict you. It is right to bring this before the throne, for our God is the hearer of prayer. But let me set your feet upon a sure foundation. The text from Job's lips is a staff for your hand: "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him." Do you see the difference between the child of God and the worldling? When others sink into despair, the believer clings the tighter. You have asked for obstacles to be removed, for doors to open. Yet perhaps the delay itself is the very door through which God is teaching you to walk. Job's captivity was not turned until he prayed for his friends. Mark that! When he began to intercede for those who had misjudged him, his own deliverance came. Have you poured out your soul for others even while your own need is great? The omen of returning greatness is found in intercessory prayer.

As for the fear, the worry, the anxious scanning of the horizon, our Lord bids you not be of a meteoric mind. The original carries the thought of something unsettled, blown about like a cloud. Set your heart upon the indoor work: "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name." What is outside cannot sink the vessel while the hull is sound. Keep the peace within by looking to Christ, and though a hurricane of affliction beat upon you, you shall not be moved. The path of the just is as the shining light, which begins with a few flickering rays and struggles with the darkness, but shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Good things increase from small beginnings. The way of evil blazes grandly at the first and ends in black ashes; but the work of grace starts as a grain of mustard seed and grows to a tree. So it may be with this business you seek. The Lord may open a small door, a lowly beginning, that you might learn to lean upon Him and not upon the arm of flesh.

You long for a healthy, peaceful environment, and rightly so, for the body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. But do not set your nest too securely upon the highest branch, for change is written upon all things beneath the moon. Health, wealth, fame, they are shadows. The things invisible are the only substances. Yet this I say to cheer you: the God who turned the captivity of Job can turn yours as the streams in the south. He can restore what the locust has eaten and give you double for your trouble. Only see to it that you do not, as Job did for a time, speak beyond your own knowledge or charge God foolishly. Humble yourself under His mighty hand, confess that you understand not the depths of His ways, and say, "I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear, but now mine eye seeth Thee; wherefore I abhor myself and repent in dust and ashes."

You ask for courage, boldness, wisdom, discernment. These are the very things God delights to give when we dare to trust Him in the fire. Let your soul be steadfastly set upon this one resolve: to bear witness that He is infinitely good and just, even if the answer tarries. Do not peer greedily between the folded leaves of the Book of Destiny; you know not what a day may bring forth. It is better to run the race well than to sigh for its end. The Lord will bring you to death in His own time; until then, serve Him with gladness where you are, even in the presence of enemies. And if your present place is truly harmful, trust that He who sees the sparrow's fall will make a way of escape. Only let your heart be kept from bitterness; remember Job's friends and pray for them. Then shall your light break forth as the morning, and your healing shall spring forth speedily. The Lord bless thee and keep thee; the Lord make His face to shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee; the Lord lift up His countenance upon thee and give thee peace.

You ask for prayer that God might open a door to a new business, to be your own master, and to escape the smoke that harms your body. This is a small thing for the Lord, who fed His people in the desert and can make a way where none appears. But I urge you: do not judge by appearance only. You see the present hardship and think deliverance lies in a change of outward circumstance. Yet often God permits such trials to heal the soul, which is far more precious than the body. For what does it profit a man to gain a healthy workshop and lose the health of his inward parts through anxiety and grasping?

You ask to be removed from fear, stress, and worry. This is a right petition, for peace is the mother of all good things. But I ask you: do you seek the peace that the world gives, or the peace Christ left with His disciples? True peace is not merely the absence of an irksome employer or a smoky room. It is the settled state of a soul reconciled to God, content with sufficiency, trusting His timing. You would be your own boss? Take care that you become not a slave to ambition, to gain, to the very cares you now seek to flee. For many who govern themselves are the worst of tyrants to their own souls.

Consider what you truly need. Not excess, but what is sufficient for the body and the soul. To overload the body with rich food brings disease; to overload the heart with schemes for tomorrow brings a sickness worse than any smoke. You stand on the Psalms and ask God to establish the work of your hands. This is good. But what work? Not every open door is from God, though it shine with promise. The right door is the one that leads you nearer to Him, that allows you to keep His commandments without compromise, that furnishes you with the necessities of life without kindling a fire of greed.

You say you ask for courage, boldness, wisdom. True boldness is not audacity, not the rash demand that God must follow your design, but the holy courage of the prophets, who spoke truth and trusted God amidst danger. Let your boldness be this: to say, “Lord, not my will, but Thine be done. If in this smoky place Thou hast work for me, give me strength to endure with thanksgiving. If Thou callest me elsewhere, make the path plain and my heart obedient.” That is faith that takes action without hesitation, not because it sees the whole road, but because it holds the hand of Him who leads.

I marvel at how many think they can propitiate God with a season of prayer and then return to former things. You have prayed fervently now, but when the new job comes, will you forget the Giver in the gift? Will you spend your strength on the business and leave the soul to starve? The forty days of Lent are not a bargain with God, nor is this season of supplication a charm to force His hand. He hears the afflicted because they cry out with a humble and broken spirit, not because they have crafted a perfect petition.

Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Make peace with all men, as far as it depends on you. Let your heart be the altar where the fire of His love consumes every resentment and fear. Then, whether you remain or depart, you will have that peace which passes understanding. And if it please Him to give you a place where the air is pure and the labor is just, receive it with thanksgiving, and use it not for your own ease only, but to do good to others and to store up treasure in heaven. The angels of the little ones look upon the Father’s face; do you see that your own angel rejoices not in your profit but in your holiness?

Therefore, I say to you: pray without ceasing, but pray above all for the soul’s health. Trust that He who spared not His own Son will with Him freely give you all things needful for this life. Let your heart say, “The Lord is my portion, therefore I will hope in Him.” Do not despise the present trial, for it is the school of patience. And when He answers, whether soon or late, whether by removal or by inward strengthening, give Him the glory. Go in peace, that peace which is the bond of love, the foundation of joy, the sign that we are the children of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
