Prayers over what to do and to do the most righteous thing

A friend and I were going to go on holiday about a month and a half ago. They paid for the tickets and I paid them money for my share. There was something feeling off in our friendship and I felt it had become very much about what they needed instead of a mutual friendship with mutual effort. I reached out to express myself and how I felt concerned about the holiday and that I felt the friendship was very centred around one person. They responded with gaslighting, spiritual manipulation, and emotional abuse. I felt quite upset by this as I wanted a healthy conversation and tried to do this the most honest way I could while being fair. The flight tickets were booked with them and this made it difficult to access and I couldn't as one airline company asked me to sign into their account. I would appreciate prayers in how to handle this situation and prayer for peace and for this person to stop being spiritually manipulative and to take accountability for their very hurtful behaviour. I did my best to resolve this but, I feel this isn't something I can fix. In the name of Jesus Christ.

We lift you up in this difficult situation, knowing that the Lord sees your heart and your desire to walk in righteousness. Your request is already rooted in the right foundation—seeking God’s will and invoking the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we find wisdom, peace, and justice. *"The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!"* (Psalm 111:10, WEB). You have done well to seek resolution honestly and fairly, and now we ask the Lord to guide your next steps with clarity and divine discernment.

The behavior you described—gaslighting, spiritual manipulation, and emotional abuse—is not of God. Scripture warns us about such deceptions: *"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravening wolves. By their fruits you will know them"* (Matthew 7:15-16, WEB). Manipulation, especially under the guise of spirituality, is a grave offense before the Lord, for it distorts truth and harms the vulnerable. We pray that this person’s heart would be convicted by the Holy Spirit, that they would repent of their hurtful actions and take accountability. *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you"* (Ephesians 4:31-32, WEB). May they be brought to a place of genuine repentance, for their own sake and for the glory of God.

As for the practical matter of the holiday and the tickets, we ask the Lord to provide a clear path forward. If it is His will for you to recover what is rightfully yours, we pray He would open the doors for you to do so without further conflict or injustice. *"Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* (Romans 12:19, WEB). Trust that the Lord sees the details of this situation, and He will act on your behalf in His perfect timing. If there is a way to retrieve the funds or resolve the matter legally or through honest communication, we pray the Lord would make it evident and grant you the wisdom to navigate it. If not, we ask Him to provide for you in another way, for He is your Provider and will not abandon you.

We also pray for your peace, that the Lord would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). The enemy would love to use this situation to steal your joy, sow bitterness, or make you doubt your worth. But you are deeply loved by the Father, and He calls you to release this burden into His hands. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was acceptable; it means you trust God to handle the justice while you walk in freedom.

Lastly, we encourage you to examine this friendship in light of Scripture. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). While this verse speaks directly to marriage, the principle applies to close relationships as well. If this friendship is marked by manipulation, selfishness, and a refusal to walk in truth, it may be wise to prayerfully consider whether this is a relationship the Lord is calling you to maintain. *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm"* (Proverbs 13:20, WEB). Surround yourself with those who build you up in Christ, who encourage you toward godliness, and who respect your boundaries.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister who seeks Your will in this painful situation. Lord, You know the details of her heart and the injustices she has faced. We ask for Your wisdom to flood her mind, for Your peace to guard her heart, and for Your justice to prevail. Convict the heart of the one who has caused harm, Lord. Bring them to repentance and turn them away from manipulation and deceit. If there is a way to resolve the matter of the tickets and funds, make it clear and provide for her needs, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Heal the wounds of this friendship, Lord, and show her whether this is a relationship that honors You or one that needs to be released. Surround her with godly counsel and friends who will speak truth and love into her life. Above all, let her rest in the knowledge that You are her Defender, her Comforter, and her Guide. We rebuke any scheme of the enemy to bring confusion, bitterness, or fear, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister. It's tough when friendships sour, especially when there's a financial aspect involved. We've been praying for you, seeking God's will in this situation. Here's what's on our hearts for you today:

First, let's remember that God sees all, and He's right there with you. "The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry" (Psalm 34:15, WEB). He knows the hurt you're feeling, and He cares deeply.

We're asking the Lord to give you clarity on how to handle this. If it's His will for you to retrieve your money, we pray He'll open the right doors and guide your steps. If not, we trust that He'll provide for you in another way. Remember, "My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19, WEB).

We're also praying for peace to guard your heart and mind. It's easy to feel anxious or upset, but we serve a God who promises to keep us in perfect peace when our minds are stayed on Him (Isaiah 26:3). So, let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus.

Lastly, we're asking the Lord to work in your friend's heart. We pray that they'll repent of their manipulative behavior and take accountability for their actions. Only God can change hearts, and we trust that He's more than able.

We're here for you, sister. Let's keep lifting this situation up to the Lord together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your heart and this difficult situation before the Lord in prayer these past days. The weight of betrayal, manipulation, and the tangled practicalities of this holiday arrangement must feel overwhelming, and we’ve been earnestly asking God to grant you His wisdom, peace, and clear direction in the midst of it all.

We know how deeply painful it is when a friendship—something meant to reflect Christ’s love—becomes a source of hurt instead of mutual care. You’ve shown such courage in seeking honesty and health in this relationship, even when met with gaslighting and spiritual manipulation. That takes tremendous strength, and we praise God for your desire to honor Him in how you’ve navigated this so far. It’s not lost on us that you’ve carried this burden with grace, even while feeling the sting of injustice.

As we’ve prayed, we’ve asked the Lord to make His will undeniably clear to you—whether that means reconciliation with boundaries, releasing this friendship into His hands, or finding a way to resolve the practical matters (like the tickets) without compromising your integrity. We’ve also been praying for your heart to be guarded by His peace, which surpasses all understanding, and for the Holy Spirit to convict and soften the heart of this friend, that they might see the harm they’ve caused and turn toward repentance.

If God has brought resolution or clarity in any way—whether through a change in circumstances, a sense of His leading, or even just the quiet assurance of His presence—we’d love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could encourage others who are walking through similar struggles. And if this weight still feels heavy, if the path forward remains unclear, or if new challenges have arisen, please don’t hesitate to share an update. We are here to continue standing with you in prayer, to ask God to move mightily on your behalf, and to remind you that you are not alone in this.

May the Lord surround you with His truth, reminding you that He sees your heart, your efforts to do what is right, and the pain you’ve endured. May He lead you step by step, providing wisdom that feels impossible to muster on your own and peace that defies the chaos. We are trusting that He is working all things together for your good and His glory, even when the way forward isn’t yet visible.

We love you in Christ and are holding fast to the promise that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. Keep seeking Him, sister. He is faithful. We pray this in Jesus’ name.
