Prayers needed

Beloved of All
Please pray that God would save me from hypocrites. As long as they remain hypocrites, I will face consequences.
Please pray for the people around the world being tortured to death for the same reasons.

We hear your cry for deliverance from hypocrisy and the pain it brings, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this burden to the Lord. Hypocrisy is a grievous sin that wounds the body of Christ, and we know how deeply it can affect those who seek to walk in truth. The Word of God warns us, "Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy" (Luke 12:1 WEB). Hypocrites may appear righteous on the outside, but inwardly, they are full of dead men’s bones (Matthew 23:27-28). Their actions can bring consequences not only upon themselves but also upon those around them, and we grieve with you over this injustice.

We must also remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy delights in using hypocrisy to divide, discourage, and destroy. But we serve a God who sees all, judges righteously, and will one day expose every hidden thing (1 Corinthians 4:5). Until then, we are called to walk in love, truth, and forgiveness, even when it is difficult. Jesus Himself endured the hypocrisy of religious leaders, yet He responded with grace and truth, never compromising His mission.

We lift up those around the world who are suffering persecution, torture, and death for the sake of Christ. Their faith is a testament to the power of the Holy Spirit, and we pray that God would strengthen them, comfort them, and deliver them from evil. "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven" (Matthew 5:10 WEB). May the Lord be their refuge and fortress in the midst of their trials.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Lord, we ask that You would save [this person] from the pain and consequences of hypocrisy. Expose the hearts of those who claim to follow You but walk in deception. Bring conviction where there is sin, repentance where there is hardness, and healing where there is brokenness. Protect [this person] from the schemes of the enemy and surround them with godly believers who will encourage and uplift them in truth.

Father, we also lift up our brothers and sisters around the world who are being tortured and killed for their faith. Strengthen them, Lord. Let Your presence be their comfort and Your promises their hope. Deliver them from evil, and if it is Your will, bring an end to their suffering. If not, give them the grace to endure with joy, knowing that their reward in Heaven is great.

Lord, we ask that You would purify Your church. Remove the hypocrisy that tarnishes Your name and hinders Your work. Raise up men and women who will walk in integrity, love, and truth, reflecting the character of Christ in all they do. Help us to be a light in this dark world, shining brightly for Your glory.

We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

To you who have shared this request, we encourage you to stand firm in your faith. Do not let the actions of hypocrites cause you to stumble or grow bitter. Instead, let their failures drive you closer to Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Seek out fellowship with those who share your love for truth and righteousness, and continue to pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44). God sees your struggle, and He will not abandon you. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

We hear you, and we carry this with you. It is wrenching to feel trapped by the actions of people whose words and lives don’t match, and we ache with you for those who are being tortured for the same reasons around the world. That heaviness can feel isolating and endless.

When we face such fears, we have found that bringing them into the light with a trusted Christian friend or pastor can make a real difference. You don’t have to carry this alone. A safe, listening presence can steady us and remind us that God has not abandoned us, even when others wound us.

Your compassion for those being persecuted is a gift that seems to be rising straight out of your own pain. Maybe your prayers for them can also become a tangible lifeline: even writing a note of encouragement through a ministry that supports the suffering church can turn your ache into a small act of solidarity. It doesn’t fix the harm, but it can push back the darkness just a little and anchor your heart in something beyond fear.

Lord Jesus, hold this person close. You know what it is to be wounded by the self-righteous and to stand with the broken. Surround them with Your steady presence and with people who will walk alongside them with honesty and grace. For those being tortured to death, we ask for courage, for comfort, and for a swift end to their suffering. We trust You to be our refuge when the world is cruel. In Your name, amen.

Deliverance is of the Lord but it must be accomplished by human instrumentality. Persecution seems to be the wave that, when it leaps up around her, speeds her course. There is a further usefulness: often does it happen that the enmity of the world drives the Christian nearer to his God. How many prayers have been offered up as the result of persecution that would never have been offered else, heaven alone can tell! God has blessed the church by her persecution.

The heap on the Lord's threshing floor is more largely made up of real wheat after the winnowing fan has been used upon it. I do not wish that any of you should experience persecution, but I am persuaded it would do some of you good to have a touch of it. A man who has fulfilled an apprenticeship to this hard master is likely to be a man, indeed. Thus do saints come out of persecution. The Church is refined by the fires of martyrdom.

Your afflictions may come distinctly from man, as the result of persecution or malice, and yet they may come with even greater certainty from the Lord and may be the necessary outcome of His special love to us. For this reason we may wisely moderate our anger against second causes. Go speak to the winds, spread your griefs to the pitiless sea, for God’s ear is not shut. I have met with so many Christians who, in the time of trouble, have received sweet assurances of coming deliverance, that I am bound to believe that the Lord does, sometimes, whisper to the heart of His children and assure them in trial that they shall not be crushed.

Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin! Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ, we must also expect to receive sanctification from a heavenly source. The ministry that God sends will be a ministry of consolation to those who are sorrowing over their sins and seeking Divine deliverance from them! Rest your soul upon Him and God will yet come to your deliverance!

If I can sometimes go into sin, just occasionally by way of pleasure, it proves that I am a stranger to the deliverance which Jesus Christ gives to His really called and regenerated people! He feels that if he ever rises from his despondency, he can never dare to take an atom of the honor of deliverance to himself, it must be of Free Grace only. Sinner, do not doubt your deliverance, for God has said it, "I have found a ransom." When God Himself proclaims concerning him who is going down to the Pit, "I have found a ransom," then is the deliverance certain! Indeed, it is already accomplished!

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. If we had no troubles, we would all have less to declare. A person who has no experience of tribulation, what great deliverance has he to speak of? Upon these He would look with tender pity and, in due time He would so come to the deliverance of His scattered people that ever afterwards that deliverance would be spoken of with praise and thanksgiving!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The prayer to be saved from hypocrites is a cry I hear often, yet consider whether the consequences you fear are not a forge for your own soul. You ask for deliverance from them, but what if God permits them to remain for your training? I recall a story of great profit. Two men were apprehended in a persecution. One was ready to endure anything and was simply beheaded. The other was prepared for death, but shrank from other tortures. The judge did not release him, but had him hung up and tortured from city to city. Why was this permitted? That he might recover through torments that quality of mind which he had neglected, that he might shake off all cowardice and be no longer afraid to endure anything. When we pray to escape the hypocrite, we might be praying to escape the very remedy that teaches us to place no confidence in men, but to cast all upon God.

You speak of consequences, and the sting of conscience is indeed worse than any kind of torture. But make your stand not against flesh and blood, but against the tyranny of pride within. For there is no persecution now, you say? Make your stand against glory, against the fighting of anger. Do not fear to be evil-spoken of for Christ’s sake, for this is your contest. The hypocrites disfigure their faces to appear unto men, and we have even surpassed them, wearing masks of piety while neglecting the heart. Yet their very presence reveals where your own hope is anchored. If it is anchored in the praise of men, you will always be their slave. If it is anchored in God, their false face is merely a shadow that passes.

For those around the world being tortured to death, fix your eyes on their prize. They were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. When it was open to them to live, they did not choose it, looking for a better life. If they rejected rescue from mortal wounds, shall we be undone by a wound to our reputation? Their courage is a reproof to our softness. Let your prayer for them be joined with a prayer for yourself: that you would learn to despise the same comforts they learned to despise, so that if a true persecution should ever find you, you would not shrink back. Let us long for this crown, and if persecution be not now, let us meanwhile prepare ourselves by enduring the lesser blows of falsehood, for upon these things depend our salvation or punishment.
