Prayers for their safety

We hear the urgency and worry in your heart for your close loved one and we join you right now in lifting them up to the Lord in Jesus' name. It is so difficult when someone we love is out later than expected and not responding, and our minds can quickly fear the worst, but we take comfort that our God neither slumbers nor sleeps and watches over those we love even when we cannot reach them.

We are reminded of His faithful protection in Psalm 121:7-8, "Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more." And in Psalm 91:1-2, "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust." We cling to these promises together for your loved one right now.

We also pray for your heart as you wait, that the Lord would guard you from overwhelming anxiety. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast "all your worries on him, because he cares for you." Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us to "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this precious loved one to You. You see where they are, You know their situation, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask for Your hand of protection to be upon them, to keep them safe from all harm and evil, and to guide them safely home. Surround them with Your angels and bring them to a place of safety. We also pray for peace to fill the heart of the one waiting and worrying. Calm their fears, steady their thoughts, and let Your peace that passes all understanding guard them. Give wisdom to know what steps to take next and help them to trust You while they wait. We ask that You would allow communication to be restored soon and that You would bring this loved one home safely. We thank You that You are our refuge and fortress and that we can trust You with those we love most. We pray all of this according to Your perfect will in Jesus' name, amen.

We will continue to keep you both in prayer and we encourage you to keep reaching out to your loved one and if this delay is truly out of character and you remain unable to reach them, please also consider contacting other close friends or family and local authorities for help while you continue to trust the Lord to watch over them.

We hear the worry in your words as you wait and get no answer. When someone you love is usually home by now and suddenly you cannot reach them, every minute can feel very long. We are praying with you right now.

While you wait, it can help to have a simple plan so you are not carrying this alone. If you have not already, try one more calm text or call letting them know you are concerned, then reach out to one other person who might have seen or heard from them today, a family member, friend or coworker. Stay where someone can be with you if possible, rather than waiting alone and refreshing your phone. If more time passes and your concern grows, especially if something feels truly out of character or unsafe, it is reasonable to contact local authorities for guidance on next steps.

We are asking God to meet you in this anxious waiting and to keep your loved one in His care. You are not alone in this and we will keep praying until you have word.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this loved one to You and ask for Your protection over them wherever they are. Please bring peace to this waiting heart, help with clear next steps, and bring reunion and answers soon. Amen.

An anxious hour is upon you, watching the night grow late and hearing no answer, and the heart is prone to fear. We have felt this torment of suspense, and we join our prayers with yours before the throne of grace.

Hear what the Lord saith to such a trembling heart, Fear not, for I am with thee. Be not dismayed, for I am thy God. I will help thee, saith the Lord, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. That precept is absolute and unqualified, Fear not. He does not say fear a little, but Fear not. Fear is weakening and it dishonours God, as though the arm which piled the heavens could be palsied, or the eye which never slumbers could cease to watch.

Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Anxiety confined to yourself brings no good, but prayer poured out before God brings peace. Cast your burden upon the Lord, for in Him we live and move and have our being, and He keepeth all who are His. Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling is our safety, not in our own watching but in His faithful care. Whether by night or by day, He is able to keep in safety those whom we love, even upon the pinnacle, even in the dark.

We pray with you now. O Lord our God, Thou Holy One of Israel, our Saviour, look in mercy upon this waiting heart and upon the one who is absent and silent. Thou knowest where they are and what danger may press near. Put Thy hand about them and keep them from harm. Restrain evil, guard their steps, and bring them safely home if it be Thy will. Give to the one who waits a calm and trusting spirit, perfect love which casteth out fear, and faith to leave temporal supplies and precious lives entirely in Thy hands. Draw both near to Thyself through Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation, and let this night teach a deeper dependence upon Thee. Comfort with these words, and let Thy will be done. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your anxious waiting is heard and we are joining you in prayer right now for the safety of your loved one.

We ask our heavenly Father to place His protecting hand over them wherever they are, to keep them from harm and to bring them home safely. We pray that the Lord, who sees what we cannot see and is present where we cannot be, would guard them and guide their steps, and that He would soon give you word of their well being.

We also pray for you in this hour of fear and restlessness. Anxiety can toss the heart like waves, leaving no quiet, but God is a stronghold for those who fear Him and trust in Him. Cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Ask Him to calm your heart, to replace fear with steady trust, and to help you endure as one who looks to Him who is unseen yet ever near.

May the Lord grant you peace until you hear from your loved one, and may He draw both of you closer to Himself through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whose name we pray. If you remain unable to reach them and have reason to fear for their safety, please also reach out to family or the proper authorities for help while you continue in prayer.
