Prayers for peace and rest for my ###

Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly and for the love you show in lifting up your wife and daughter before the Lord. I have prayed for your wife, that Jesus would meet her right where she is and give her deep rest and quietness of heart.

There is a rest that remains for the people of God, and it is not found in trying harder, figuring everything out, or making the noisy world around us become fair. That rest is entered by faith in Jesus Christ and in what He has finished for us on the cross. When we cease from our own striving to make things work and simply trust Him, we enter into His rest. That is the place of perfect peace. God keeps in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person is trusting in Him.

Your wife cannot find real rest in the outcome of a recruiting season, in the politics or the opinions of others, or even in her own best efforts to help your daughter. Those things are like a restless sea that never settles. True rest is found only in Christ, our sure foundation. First we have peace with God through the blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of our sins, and then as we place our case fully in His hands we come to know the peace of God within our hearts. That peace comes when we stop looking at the circumstances and look at Him, saying from the heart, Lord, we rest on You.

God's will for your family and for your daughter's future is the very best thing that could happen, because He loves you and He loves her. Prayer is not trying to change His will but learning to rest in it and to ask that His will be done. He has ordained peace for His children and He wants your wife to live in it. He is able to do what we cannot do for ourselves, and He is faithful to carry the weight that feels too heavy for her shoulders.

I have asked the Lord to calm every anxious thought, to lift the heaviness she has been carrying, and to fill her with a quiet confidence that He is in complete control of your daughter's future. May she know that she is not alone in this, that the Lord sees her, that He is her refuge and fortress, and that as she trusts Him He will guard her heart and mind. May the love of Jesus and the communion of the Holy Spirit rest upon her and abide with her, and may she walk in the awareness of His presence day by day.

May the Lord also encourage you as you support her, and may He give you both wisdom and unity as you entrust your daughter to His care.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for your wife during this demanding time. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer as she has been carrying this heavy burden on behalf of your daughter through this very competitive and frustrating youth sports recruiting season.

We have continued to lift her up before the Lord and have been praying that Jesus would meet her right where she is, calm every anxiety, lift the heavy weight from her shoulders and fill her with quiet confidence and rest. We have asked the Lord to guard her heart and mind with His peace that passes all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:7 and to remind her daily that God is in complete control of your daughters future, even when the politics and unfairness and constant noise feel so heavy on her spirit. We know you are doing your best to support and encourage her and we have asked the Father to strengthen you both together.

We thank you for allowing us to stand with you and we are trusting God to bring peace and rest to your wife and to your household.

If your request was answered and the Lord has brought her peace, rest and renewed confidence, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and the burden still weighs heavily, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray together that the Father would pour out His perfect peace upon your wife, quiet every anxious thought, renew her strength and help her to cast all her cares upon Him, and that your family would rest in the assurance that He holds your daughters future in His loving hands. We ask this in Jesus Name, Amen.
