May God đź‘‘ Reign through Rulers by His Word, Gen 1:26-27, Deut 17:18, Good Counsel, Prov 24:6, and Prayers for Peace, Salvation, 1 Tim 2:1-4, Protect

We thank God with you for this burden to pray for those in authority, and we join you in lifting them before the Lord according to His Word.

Scripture commands us to offer prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity, and so that all people may come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved through Jesus Christ alone, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Every ruler is a steward entrusted by the Master with power and influence not for his own advantage but for the common good. The Lord requires of such stewards that they be both faithful and wise, not misusing what has been entrusted to them and not spending it without purpose, but dispensing it as is fitting before God.

So we pray together:

Father, we thank You for ordaining human government and for giving us Your Word to be a lamp for those who rule. We ask that You reign through our presidents, vice presidents, secretaries of state and defense, members of Congress and legislators, judges and justices, and all who serve in our defense and intelligence communities including the Pentagon and the Joint Chiefs. Cause them to seek Your counsel and to write Your law upon their hearts, that they may rule in submission to You and according to Scripture.

Grant them wisdom that is from above and not the wisdom of this world which comes to nothing. Keep them from loving the praise of men more than the praise of God, and from seeking honor from one another instead of the honor that comes from You alone. Make them faithful stewards who do not purloin what is Yours and who use what You have given for justice, for the protection of the innocent, and for the peace of the people.

We ask for good counsel in the multitude of counselors, and that You would surround them with godly advisers. Expose falsehood and protect them from imposters, flatterers and those who would lead them astray. As You revealed the plans of the enemy to Elisha, intercept every evil plan and leak and bring to nothing the counsel that is against righteousness. Remove those who do evil and establish those who will do Your will, for promotion comes from You alone. Guard them from temptation and deliver them from the evil one, and give Your angels charge over them. Keep them from sin and lead them in Your truth.

We pray also for their salvation and for the salvation of all peoples under their care. Draw them to Yourself through Jesus Christ, in whose name alone we must be saved, and help them to serve Your purposes in their generation as David served Yours. While we pray Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, help us to continue steadfastly in prayer with thanksgiving, trusting not in our own understanding but in You, and resting in the peace of God which guards our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

We will continue to pray with you, asking the Lord to grant wisdom, protection and godly unity to those in authority, and to use their stewardship for His glory and for the good of all.

Your heart to pray for those in authority is right and biblical, and God is pleased when we bring rulers before Him. Scripture teaches that God ordained government and that He desires us to pray for all who lead, so that we may live peaceful lives and so that all people might come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved through Jesus Christ alone. To pray for presidents, legislators, judges, military leaders and all who hold influence is to cooperate with what God has appointed, asking Him to rule through them according to His Word.

The greatest need for any leader is wisdom, and the beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord. That fear is not a vague respect, it is to hate evil and to turn away from it. When a leader fears God he will hate pride, arrogance, the crooked way and perverse speech, and he will choose to depart from evil. Pray that those in authority will incline their ear to wisdom and apply their heart to understanding, that they will hide God's commands in their heart and let His Word be their counsel. There is safety in a multitude of godly counselors, and wisdom will preserve and keep a person from the way of the evil man who leaves upright paths to walk in darkness, who rejoices in doing wrong and delights in what is perverse, and from flattering lips that speak deceit. Wisdom is better than riches and more to be desired than anything else, because it shows a person what to do with knowledge and keeps his feet from evil.

There are two kinds of wisdom. One is earthly, sensual and devilish, marked by envy and strife and confusion and every evil work. The other is from above, and it is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to listen, full of mercy and good fruits. Pray that our leaders will reject the wisdom of this world, which God has shown to be foolishness, and will instead seek the wisdom that comes from above, which leads to purity, peace and righteousness. A life shows which wisdom a person is following, and we can ask God to make His wisdom evident in their decisions, their priorities and their conduct, so that they fully carry out His purposes in their generation.

It is also right to pray for their protection. God is able to intercept evil plans and reveal them, as He did for Elisha, and He is able to keep His people from the evil one. Jesus prayed that His own would be kept from the evil one, and God has promised to be faithful to guard and to give His angels charge over those who trust Him. Pray that leaders will be delivered from temptation and from every form of evil, that they will turn away from false and deceiving people, that imposters, leaks and wicked schemes will be exposed and removed, for promotion comes from the Lord and He sets up and removes according to His will.

There are no perfect rulers, and that is why we rightly pray Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and Come Lord Jesus. Until then we seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, trusting Him with all our heart and not leaning on our own understanding, praying continually and with thanksgiving. God knows what to do and He gives wisdom generously to those who ask Him in faith.

May the Lord grant wisdom, guidance, godliness and unity to those who govern, may He keep them from evil and lead them in His ways, and may He draw many to salvation through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As you continue to pray, may the peace of God guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, for every promise of God is yes and amen in Him.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for our leaders and our nation.

We have continued to stand with you in asking that God would reign through rulers by His Word according to Gen 1:26 and Deut 17:18, that He would grant good counsel according to Prov 11:14 and Prov 24:6, and that our prayers for peace and salvation would be heard according to 1 Tim 2:1-4. We joined you in praying for our Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries of State and Defense, the DOJ, Congress and legislators, federal judges and Supreme Court Justices, as well as for the Pentagon, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, generals, military commanders and intelligence bureaus. We also agreed with you for protection from falsehood, imposters, moles and leaks, from evil plans and from false believers according to 2 Tim 3:13, 2 Tim 3:5 and 2 Kings 6:12, asking the Lord to intercept evil plans as He did for Elisha, to keep these leaders from the evil one according to John 17:15 and 2 Thes 3:3, and to give His angels charge over them according to Ps 91:11.

We count it a blessing to seek first His Kingdom and righteousness with you according to Matt 6:33 and to ask that His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven according to Matt 6:10.

If your request was answered and you have seen the Lord grant wisdom, guidance, protection or unity to those in authority, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We continue to ask the Father to lead these leaders not into temptation and to deliver them from evil according to Matt 6:13, to give them wisdom according to James 1:5, and to help them fully carry out His purposes in their generation according to Acts 13:36. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.

We pray this in Jesus Name.
